The unreleased musical episode is even creepier... it is like a mind control brainwashing cult with creepy music and images... I tried watching it once on Hulu and I nearly went insane because it gave me a headache and I had nightmares for weeks as an adult...

I was personally more traumatized by the Zombie Magician episode of Powerpuff Girls... the fact they show him die and then he comes back as a Zombie and end up re dying the same was. Super creepy as a kid!

I miss the old Cartoon Network shows, but it is good to see some of the new ones on this list. It shows that not all the new cartoons are happy go lucky
Freaky Fred and Perfect were two Courage episodes that obviously deserved to be here, but I’m kinda surprised that The Curse of King Ramsey wasn’t, not even as an honorable mention. Yes that episode should DEFINITELY be on this list IMO. It was the most memorable episode of the show for me because it was so scary! Not gonna lie, it did give me a few nightmares as a kid.
Okay some episodes may have been dark but without some of that dark elements in some cartoons they would not have the charm and carisma we grew to love them today.

I remember my opinion of Ice King completely turning around after Holly Jolly Secrets. The crown reminded me of the One Ring from Lord of the Rings, incredible, addictive power at the cost of your mental state. That’s when the show really got interesting for me, especially when they committed an entire flashback episode to reveal that Ice King and Marceline were close friends
I remember them all, the best classics, Dexter, Courage, PowerPuff Girls, Samurai Jack, Adventure Time. I wish there's more like them - quality cartoons.

I was a weird kid growing up. Courage the Cowardly Dog episodes never scared me, and I mean never, and I just hated Him from the Powerpuff girls rather than being scared of him. But looking back, now these are scary to me.
Where's Ben 10 ultimate alien? There were two episodes that were completely dark one involving were charmcaster managed to kill Ben, Gwen, and Kevin. And the other were captain nemesis and his partner killed a bunch of civilians.
Seriously?! You don't even talk about Daisy's dream in The Amazing World of Gumball?! That's the only reason that part gets super dark. But props to you for including Uncle Fred from Courage the Cowardly Dog. I love that episode but it gave most of my siblings and cousins nightmares
I'd hardly call Holly Jolly Secrets dark. I would've gone with No One Can Hear You. That episode had a crazy Jake, Finn breaking his legs, and oh yeah, the most creepy deer in animation history!
These dark but violent moments of these cartoon shows are a really proof that we grew up with them during our nostalgic childhood memories back then when cartoon shows were the high peak.
Three things i will say about this video: Freaky Fred shaving courage felt like courage was being r***, Speed demon was the darkest of all powerpuff girls series and twisted sister was the most tragic of the powerpuff girls.
The episode of The Amazing World of Gumball "The Night" is really thought provoking for me. Especially Anais turn into a doll and Daisy the Donkey tortured her. Only to find out it wasn't Anais' dream, it's Daisy's 😥😥😥.
