Good evening Paul! Nice to rediscover shave items and products that have been "hidden" in the shave den. Sometimes I see you use a soap or razor and be inspired to use the same thing. I worked through using half of my razor collection in this manner. Last one was the Gillette NEW LC and what a lovely shave it delivered. Graydog made me three outstanding brushes; 2 badger and 1 synthetic...I prefer the synthetic knot for the ease of maintenance and lather flow. It seems the arctic air has shifted form Northeast Kansas, so the snow has been replaced by rain. My area is under a flood warning, as the Missouri River is exceed its banks and levees as soon as Thursday. I live on the higher ground, so I am safe from that concern. The Feather Hi Stainless blades worked better for me after the 3rd use and they deliver fantastic shaves up to the 12th use...so far. Paul, that was a very nice shave. Thank you for sharing. If you ever get a rockwell (6c) razor, the feather works great in those, no more 1st use ‘issues’ I discovered. To be honest, the extra light does add a quite a bit more shadow under the razor and behind you. The previous setup was excellent already. Have a nice week!

New subscriber...I've been lurking in the background for a good while. Just did a Wednesday night shave with TOBS Sandalwood, An Edwin Jagger DE 89 Razor with a Personna blade, and finished off with Fine American Blend. Excellent

It's hard to picture Prince Charles getting up in the morning to shave himself. He probably has had someone helping him into his clothes everyday, too since he was a young man. I'm not sure about William and Harry. They seem more independent and rebellious, like their mom was.
I like everything about Floid aftershave from the style bottle to the bakelite cap to the great skin feel seconds after splashing it on the neck. Like Proraso aftershave, it's like acetaminophen or ibuprofen for the skin. Any neck irritation is gone shortly after splashing it on. I have the large bottle of Floid Mentolado Vigoroso and always first apply it to the neck as I rarely have irritation on the face. I've dispensed with the balm after a shave. I have oily skin so I only use balm if I'm not using an aftershave lotion. My face feels slick after using lotion like Floid and I find that's enough.
Good shave Paul. Enjoyed the shave but not the smell..except for the Floyd's ...I prefer a lemon lime scent or old spice will do nicely The flowers were Beautiful Mrs H...well done...one day I'll get up enough nerve to try the Feather. But not today...Derby still gives me the freedom to make mistakes...and I need that...got to be careful with the blood thinners...a nick can turn into a slice as far as bleeding....You'll find out one day...Keeps the blood flowing through the heart...like you I still remember Dad with the little bits of tissue on his face after a shave..lol

Have you ever looked at the "Journeyman" razor sold by 'shaving shack'? They do one at £30 or one with slight imperfections (and I mean slight) on the handle for a crazy £10 and you get done blades as well. It's similar looking and feel to the EJ de89

Nice looking razor, brush and soap. The razor head looks almost identical to an EJ DE89, have you ever done a comparison shave with EJ 89s and razors such as these? Love feathers in my EJ 89 ...so smooth and comfortable. Keep the vids coming, helps newbies like me immensely. Thanks again.
The Muhle R-108, the Muhle R-89 and the E.J. D.E. 89 all use the same head. The only difference being the handles. The 89 head was developed by both Muhle and E.J. in the late 1980's.
As Ben commented, they are more or less the same heads....Feather is good in this type of razor isn't it.....many thanks Peter :-)

@@PaulHFilms Upon doing further research, I discovered that a few years ago, Muhle changed the material used on the pins on their top cap. They are now using brass rather than zamak which is what both Muhle and E.J were using. In theory, the Muhle version should last longer, but either one of these razors is first rate.
