  • This was very very lucky and we are very happy it ended well. However, this could have been a very tragic accident. This is very preventable, Do gear checks before plane and before exit. Check each other before door opens, make sure you have a tight closing loop, be mindful of space and what your rig may touch, but most of all.......look out for each other.
This scary video is a reminder to LOOK, CHECK, WATCH yourself and others. Be safe Blue Skies!

It's not just Amie's close call. It was everyone's close call.

It is really sad to see such a thing happening, we are all humans and inevitably we will make mistakes. Some mistakes worse than others tho, this one could have cost few lives and let many others in sorrow. The sad part is that this is something VERY dangerous, extremely EASY to avoid and still we see every other week a video like this. Gary Speer explained really well how to avoid it, I just cant agree on the "entertainment side", there is absolutely nothing entertaining about it, but thanks for posting it and bringing awareness to the community. Please people, stay safe.

Opting to jump from a perfectly good plane for any reason perplexes me :)

The song choice is killing me right now 🤣 On a serious note I am glad nobody was hurt. She was extremely lucky. Always look out for your friends. Gear checks are not always on yourself scan your friends.

Two years later, the skydiver hits the ground.

It's painful to watch the POV of the skydiver inside the plane, watching the d-bag roll out, and not do anything about it.

I'm more annoyed with the people in the plane. You're telling me nobody saw a completely open container!?

I've never jumped before but I feel like I should lie about it like half the comments.

Glad that did not become a tragic situation. Surprised that "Amie" didn't react to the sensation of her harness/container suddenly feeling more relaxed as the main container opened and the bag dropped to the A/C floor. A pause in her climb out to check into that sensation would have allowed jumpers 3 & 4 to become aware and restrain her from continuing to climb out & capture the bag. If that was to be a 3-way or more exit, those behind her were slow to be moving into their exit position which kept them from intervening. On the entertainment side, good editing, sound track & funny selected freeze frames.

Hey that wasn't just Amie, everyone on that plane was in extreme jeopardy and the pilot doesn't look like he's packing.

I had a similar incident as a jump pilot in a 182 way back 20ish years ago. Static line student with one jumper per pass, first guy out that spent the climb in student slot against the instrument panel. As he rotated around to get his feet out, I noticed something wrong with his student rig but since I only had a few jumps, I couldn't place what I saw wrong in that quick second as I was trying to setup the plane for the long student exit. I thought the Jumpmaster would notice if anything was wrong on the equipment check (pilots: remember you're still the PIC!!! It's not "not my problem" even if it is a rig issue). As he's climbing out to the full hang position at the crook of the strut and wing, which he luckily got all the way to, I notice what is wrong is his reserve pin cover flap and the pin is working loose, especially as it rubs against the door. Right as he got in the hang, the reserve popped open! I still can see that pilot chute springing out. Knowing that tails getting ripped off is a thing like the Australian Caravan accident, my hands actually went to my door and the seatbelt as the plane jerked 20 degrees to the right with the opening shock since I was sure the tail was going to be ripped off. Turned out he missed the tail too like in this situation and and I was quickly looking to see if the Jumpmaster had noticed I freaked out and was going to bail on them 🤣 He was too busy watching the now double deployment that the student did a great job of cutting away the main on his first ever jump. The DZ owner even gave him a second jump that day since he asked.

In my opinion all guys inside are responsible for it, sad that nobody react on that situation. Im a pilot in polish drop zone and I can't understand that other jumpers or even pilot did nothing. They are kind of criminals for me. Hope not meet this team ever. Shame sad stupid. That should never happened and left plane.

I have seen two parachutes deploy from inside the plane, both happened so fast that I could barely begin to move before it was over. I have also prevented two others from deploying. Awareness is critical.

2 jumps in one flight and a 30 min canopy ride. Most bang for the buck there!

Had an old rag wing 170. Girl, with a too short static line, jumped, her pilot chute & bridle went into that outboard gap between the horizontal stabilizer & elevator. Nose went up about 45 decrees but I got it back down. Bridle snatched loose, opened okay. If it can happen, it'll happen.

I look at the view from the plane to the Ground and still remember my jump and as if it was a dream :) I saw the Ground only after a free fall, the parachute opened almost immediately, as we flew through the clouds. The view from there from the sky is just fantastic))
