B-roll? Graphics? Actual working links? What in the world is going on here? It’s like a real production around here! Love it.
Love the close ups shots of the bottles! Greatly appreciated!
Hey all! Danny M here. The Rockcastle is the bottle I gave you all at Glenn's Creek the day that I proposed to Crystal at Castle and Key! So glad you all like it!
Good idea for a show..dessert bourbon. Also how about five bottles for:
1) hot summer evenings
2) just finished mowing
3) at the barbecue
4) hosting a group of new bourbon
drinkers
Just finished mowing??
Something like water, so some type of Scotch of course!
Old 55 Bottled in Bond is a total hidden gem. Great people making great whiskey. We're quite jealous of your proximity to that distillery.
YES to the budget rye video! Drinking Jack Daniels BiB rye while typing this. The firs rye I ever liked was Old Forester 100 rye. I recently picked up a store pick of Jack Daniels single barrel rye and it is my favorite bottle in the house! Went back and bought two more. I was really into sweeter bourbons but I'm pretty sure I am transforming into a rye guy.
Redwood empire emerald giant -found it for 29 bucks and it’s made me strongly Rye-Curious
"sha-GRIN" Falls. 😊
Love you guys are sharing the hidden gems! While other channels describe smells like the essence of spring honeydew, Trenton goes with "farty" lol. you guys are the best
I've run out of room in my liquor cabinet(s) and you two bear quite a bit of blame for that 👍
Missed you guys yesterday, spent lotsa time searching for you. I hope all is well.
Thank you for the concern. Lots of technical difficulties. More on Wednesday video.
Kurt pronounced Chagrin correctly, lol
Also try their Applejack. It's so so so unique and not at all what you'd expect it to be.
Second this. I got a bottle awhile ago and wasn't really into it for awhile. Came back to it recently and drank half the bottle over the course of the week.
Very good, i've only ever tried the 90 proof I need to try the bonded
@@Meowmeow0506 I should've mentioned the Bonded Applejack in specific because yeah it's way better
Rock Castle (Barrel House) is right next to James Pepper and RD One. It's a small place compared but they had some good stuff there.
Dont be afraid to mix in cocktail shows now and then.
Working on a summer cocktail show right now. Hopefully soon!
How about spin a wheel (or draw out of a hat) for a liqueur and a base spirit, then Kurt and Trent each create a cocktail to be judged by Kent or/and Rebecca? Or just the liqueur and you choose the base?
I have a single barrel cask strength from Barrel House that makes RockCastle. I went to the Distillery last year when I was in Lexington. They said they distil about 50 barrels a year. A very small operation. The single barrel I got was from a liquor store and they said it had just gone out and I was lucky to have found one. It is very unique. You can tell it is craft, grainy but pretty good.
I'd like to see an all MGP series, or an Indiana distillery lineup. Thanks for the great content.
I live in Palisade Colorado where Peach Street Distillers is home. Small peach farm community that has grown into wine, a brewery, distillery and more tourism now. Great little town and a great distillery with many offerings at this point from gin, vodka, tequila and many whiskeys. Their 6 year bottled in bond and 10 year are by far the best. Always have a bottle or two in the house! Glad to see them get some recognition outside the state.
I lived in Palisade in the 70s, graduated from PHS. I love the peach brandy from Peach Street Distillers, but it's so hard to get in California. I'm stingy with the half-bottle I have, at least until I can get a replacement!
Love this episode, thanks for doing the craft distillers, they need to get more love.
Love this type of video. It’s refreshing to see something new being reviewed.
Thanks for reviewing some different bottles. You guys were the channel that got us started on our bourbon journey. Keep up the great content!
Great video again upgraded bottle shots nice touch Love the Old 55
This has quickly become my go to bourbon encyclopedia ❤
Unfortunately a bottle of the Tom’s Foolery was a drain pour for me. I have since tried a different bottle and it was pretty good. I believe the bottle I received was overheated or corked cause it was just undrinkable. But I live very close to the distillery and I will get more bottles from them. Ohio has some fantastic distilleries that put out great products. These others are probably not available in my area but I’ll look on seelbach for them sometimes they have some craft distillery picks. Great video. Enjoy!!
Another great episode per usual guys! Lovely whiskies shown off here!
This is one of your best videos as of late. I love the topic and you both were insightful in your commentary. Might I suggest a a video dedicated to Toasted offerings? Recently bought an Elijah Craig Toasted which was delicious.
Great video. That Indri and the Wheel Horse are the only ones I've seen around me and they were both worth the price of admission. Cheers!
Just love your jazz music at the end of your videos.
I've never heard Chagrin Falls pronounced that way😂 I live a little west of there lol great video fellas
Been drinking Tom's Foolery for many years...great bourbon especially their Rye!
Love the videos guys! Yall rule!!!

I enjoy Old 55. I picked up two store pick bottles from Lake Liquors in Cedar Lake, IN: Old 55 Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey Bottled-In-Bond and Old 55 Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey.
With the ryes, do a speed tasting of sorts. Just pull them out the box, give your first impression. Then you can do more detailed reviews later!
Wheel Horse, while not MGP is sourced from Green River Distillery in KY. It’s widely available in Texas for $32/bottle. It’s excellent IMO esp. for the price.
You get a farty apricot, you get a farty apricot, you get a farty apricot
Gonna roll that one out next time the liquor store offers free samples.
Happy Monday huh!?!??! Boy what a sad Monday it actually was without having my SLB video to sip my evening dram to.. :(
Love videos like these. Discovery is exciting.
Picked up that Wheel Horse! Good stuff. Nice price and proof!😃👍
Yes, please for the rye tasting video 🎉
We spent a few days in the Lexington/Red River Gorge area last fall (from central Indiana) and, just for fun, we went shopping for a bourbon or four that we can't get in our usual liquor stores. The standard Wheel Horse was one that we picked up and, boy, did that bottle get empty in a hurry.
YAAAS. Need the video on the 20 ryes.
We need some summer cocktail videos!!
Regarding Peach Street - I love that place. Having lived in CO for a while, I grew fond of the local distillers there. Peach Street distilled the first 10 year whiskey in CO and only released 2 single barrels of it in 2019. Retail was $99. Great bottle, great folks. Definitely recommend the 10 year IF you can find it - which is basically 99.99% not gonna happen anymore lol That distillery and state is very special to me!
Whiskey Row did a Barrel Pick with Wheel Horse back in January this year. It's a nice one.
8:13 Knob Creek's wax is one of the major reasons I hate seals in general and wax seals in particular. If I had my druthers all whisky would have a screw top.
Wheel Horse Toasted Barrel is an annual release. In 2023 they changed the label from white and red to black and white. If I remember correctly for the 2023 release it was around 1500 bottles. For 2024 it’s supposed to be around 3100 bottles. They also do a cigar blend release in the fall it’s fantastic. For 2023 it was around 3000 bottles. We have one store here in Anchorage that carries Wheel Horse in their chain so it’s fairly common up here. I still need to get their rye as I hear it’s really good.
Great editing!! Just wanted to say
All in on the rye video!
Not a bourbon but a rye. Corbin Cash here in California makes some great stuff. Their single barrels are 🔥
Wheel horse is really good for $30-35. My buddy got a store pick, i got a toasted, and i also got their cigar batch. Their cigar batch isnt as good as most of the cigar batches out there, but its far lees than half the price of them, but it is still really good. Especially for $30-35.
Yes, to the rye video!!
Tom Foolery! Great maple taste! They have a maple barrel finished one that is actually so good. You really just want to pour on top of pancakes.
Would love to see Trenton’s collection!
I was hoping you guys would review wheel horse soon. I have the 101 rye and it’s awesome. Non chill filtered and everything for the price it’s awesome!!
The Wheel Horse pick Whiskey Row did has gotten fantastic reviews for the price
I also enjoyed Wheel Horse Small Batch as well.
You can't go wrong with Wheel Horse. Solid bourbon that I don't feel bad about drinking neat, on the rocks or mixed with something. The price point is easy on the wallet.
Trenton, yes please do a video on the Ryes!!
Yes! Do the rye review! 🥃
Would love to see you continue to bring us the “bourbon trail less travelled.” My two favorites are Casey Jones and MB Roland. They get no love. They have some awesome stuff.
Love these video's please do more like it
I will have to go to Ohio to get the Tom Foolery. The Wheel Horse is now owned by Bardstown, I am pretty sure, same distillery as Green River. I often take the regular Wheel Horse to poker night. Two more craft whiskeys you might be able to get. Ole George Rye from Grand Traverse Distillery and Mattie Gladden from your neck of the woods. you did the Lee Sinclair 4 grain previously, but I prefer the Mattie Gladden.
When Trent backs himself into a corner where he has to deny enjoying the smell of farts. 🤣🤣
So exciting to see an Indian whiskey make it to the channel, I'll have to special order it as it's not sold in Ohio yet. Have you guys ever seen Paul John (another indian whiskey)?
definitely want to see the rye video
Great channel learned alot have u tried a bourbon margarita
Tom's Foolery Maple is KILLER
Tom said it tested at 8% maple syrup. That maple syrup barrel wasn’t quite empty, haha. It’s like a cocktail.
Would love to see the rye video!
Peach street has a lot to offer. They make gin, vodka, agave spirits, American single malt and bourbon. They make a fantastic product and sell it at a fair price (in CO I can not speak to their distribution in other states). They are not the only distillery in CO making fantastic spirits!
I am from Ohio, born and raised, 32 years old. I have never seen, heard of, or heard any person talk about Tom's Foolery Distillery. Pretty wild. Awesome looking bottle too. Just looked them up on OHLQ. I will be on the lookout for their stuff. Not a bad price on the bonded at all, they have a bonded rye, and they do a maple finished bourbon and single barrels.
Decent juice, their applejack is the best i've tried. Never had the bonded however
Try their bourbon aged in Maple Syrup barrels….. epic
TF's maple finished bourbon is nasty. Way too sweet and no complexity at all. They need to rethink their product and market.
I live in Columbus and have been drinking Tom's Foolery for many years...great bourbon especially their Rye!
TF rye is very good. If you are lucky enough to see a cask strength, which may only be available directly from the distillery, buy it because it is excellent.
Thoughts on West Coast whiskies? Woodinville Whisky just won double gold.
I found a store pic at Pat's of the Old 55, it's pretty good pic
Great content. Thanks. I do love Old 55. Now for the suggestion feature of my local programming comment: When whiskey reviewers use the term “baking spices” I do wish they’d dig just a wee bit deeper and define more precisely what they mean; which baking spices exactly? All of them? One of them? I think more precise definitions would be helpful at this point, and retirement of the over-generalized term “baking spices” would be mostly appreciated. …… And now back to your regular commenting channel.
I’d like to see a review of dubliner Steelers select if you can get one
You guys ever tried Southern Star out of North Carolina? They make a wheated bourbon called “paragon” that’s really good!
Definitely waiting for a Rye tasting out of your cheap rye stash you have squirreled away!!!!
Please do the video on cheaper ryes. And the dessert bourbons.
Indri has a cask strength also
Wheel horse is on shelves in Chicago, I'm not sure about the toasted. I may have to look for it now.....
Tom's Foolery BiB Rye is awesome too
We can't get any of these bottles in the Chicago market. We head over to Indiana every once in awhile, but don't know where to look. Any suggestions to help us find some for our channel?
Absolutely 💯 would like to see a Rye video!
Do the Rye video, please. Also, more rum and tequila
Yes, Trenton! Do a Rye video, pleeeeeaaaaase!!!!
Wheelhorse does barrel picks Whiskey Row did a 117 proof which is a total bomb. You cannot beat the taste for a 45 dollar bottle
Here is a Yes vote for the rye video.
I'll have to send you all a bottle from my hometown distillery called: J. Riley's
Rye? Why not!
I've only heard of Wheel Horse. Rye video yes, but I'm finding them to be much more miss than hit compared to bourbons or single malts. Pikesville Rye is one I really enjoy, I believe it's 51% which just clears the rye whiskey bar, probably why I like it.
Fun experiment but I heard statesman tastes very similar to birthday bourbon 🎉
My issue is that WT101 is cheaper than Wheel Horse in my area, and I'd rather the WT101 tbh
I’m down for the rye video.
Any chance you all can make a video on Basil Hayden 10 year. I've never tried any BH. Thanks
If an apricot farts does it just smell like apricot?
We’ve been to barrel house and did their tour, not sure if that’s one of their $120 bottles. They don’t let you taste it before you buy so we passed ! But would like to get a taste of it sometime.
You missed out, both rock castle and regular a Barrel House are superb
Too bad I can’t get any of them here in Texas 😢
Would love to see yall blind your personal SLB barrel picks.
Rye! Video!
Yes a budget rye video
Yes, rye video!
would love to see some rye shows
Where do you guys get your music for your videos?
It's some nice jazz, isn't it? 🙂
