      Please let people know that just because you were referred you still will have to fill out paperwork so get to appointment a little early so this can be completed

    Thank you 🙏 seeing first rheumatologist this week, been waiting for a year. And suddenly I don’t know what to ask and am having deer in headlights about going. This helped immensely ❤

    Wow!! Your video was posted just before I started having symptoms show up. Since then it's been a crazy health journey. My first Rheumatology appt. is this afternoon and I am gearing myself up, making sure I have all I need to make the best of the first appt. The tip you gave about taking photos and taking them in made me so happy and relieved, bc for over a year I was already documenting through photos my allergies on my face, then when all the other stuff started I documented what I could from every angle I could since then and I have to organize them now...but I am glad you said that you can't really take too many. lol Not only that but I had a feeling that I should take pictures videos of rashes, swelling, redness, places where it is aching, anything that looked odd to me and did not feel right...I documented in photos at least bc I knew these would come and go so explaining them is one thing, but having visuals for the doctor will help especially if that is not going on the day of appt. Great video!!

    Thank you for the tips. I have my 1st appointment scheduled in a few weeks. I had labs done and the RA factor, Lyme and ANA were negative
    CRP is 30. I really hope to get some answers.

    I have an appt in 9 days. I'm so scared, never had pain like this and I'm on Prednisone which I hate. My sed rate is 51 and reactive protein 17.9. I just binged on your videos. Thank you so much!

      Glad I could help! When I worked as a rheumatology nurse, so many patients and families came in terrified when they were new because the referring provider didn't explain what to expect. Some didn't even know why they were referred. I could explain it, but by then they were already freaking out for months. That's why I initially started my channel 🌺 People shouldn't have to go through that on top of their symptoms.

    I have had raynauds since my early to mid twenties that has only gotten more prevalent in the last couple years. My GP ordered a RA factor which is a 14 and the anti ccp is a 16. My maternal grandma has RA and raynauds. I hope it isn’t RA, especially since my ferritin was really low at a 4. But I am persisting with symptoms that I believe are related to my thyroid since I am borderline hyper. I did test negative for ANA. I do have pressure/tender points in my wrists, ankles, knees, and elbows; the joint and muscle pain has only been persistent off and on since last May but this past month has been the worst with weakness. Is there anything it could be aside from RA (I have gathered that RA Factor can pick up over disorders too). I will be seeing a rheumatologist for the first time soon (just got the referral today) so this was helpful.

    Heyy!! Can you have a negative ANA and a positive ENA? What does that mean result wise, i always thought you needed a positive ANA for an ENA ?

    • @RestfulRheum
      @RestfulRheum  Před 3 lety +1

      From my research yes. The ANA does not include all autoimmune autoantibodies. The results should be explained by your medical provider, but it sounds like more info is needed.

      @@RestfulRheum thank you so much. Im trying to do research but i keep seeing ANA. Under my results it says positive for smith antibody which im assuming could be associated with rheumatoid arthritis, SLE, CTD or scleroderma or so on?? Should be a “great” doc appointment on tuesday!
      Ps - thanks so much for responding so quickly🤎

      @RestfulRheum  Před 3 lety +1

      No problem. I made a video about the specific autoantibodies in an ANA:
