You cannot roll over the tax credit at the end of the year. It is very much a use it or lose it. It’s also important to note that “what you pay” is not necessarily “what you owe.” If your total tax liability is 7500 then you can take advantage of this non-refundable credit.

I'm leaning toward getting one of these because most of my driving consists of very short drives of 1 to 2 miles within the community I live in. Those short drives are really hard on an ICE. Some people use golf carts to get around but I refuse to be seen in one of them!

I got a red Jeep Wrangle Rubicon 4xe. The 4xe (since it’s a hybrid) has blue trim outlines and you can’t really see the blue trim as it’s the same color as his awesome blue wrangler. My first choice was this blue also. Instead, I went with Firecracker Red, and got the Rubicon. My rubicon letters on the hood have blue trim on the outside edges of each of the letters, and my jeep logos also have blue trim around the outside of them. I am very happy with my firecracker red!! A lot of my driving is also short distances around town, and to date, I’ve driven 601 miles on the original tank of gas. My average so far is 28 mpg, with 346 electric miles and 255 gas miles. I have 1/4 of a tank of gas left. I plan to use premium gas.

The dealers near me wouldn’t honor the deal so I went in a different direction. Your Rubicon sounds great and I hope you enjoy it!

you can't afford to pay the cost of gas for a 5 mile round trip? lol...The huge amount of mechanical complexity is what turns Wranglers into wallet drainers and makes them quite frankly very unreliable. Not all dealers are raping customers for "market condition premiums". I'm in Canada and out of 10 dealers in range, 3 of them aren't marking it up. Just walk into a dealer and tell them you are ready to purchase, and that you are not paying a premium. If they come back with any answer other than "sure", turn around and walk out.
Also highly consider an auto broker if you don't know the in-n-outs of the deal. It will save you thousands. They work for you, not the stealerships.

Good luck if this thing brakes down especially finding a good mechanic. It's a trip to the dealership, they will be the only ones who can work on these vehicles.
