I asked aki to post up my friends go fund me to try and get hand controls because he has Becker’s muscular dystrophy and is slowly losing his ability to do anything in life. He used to be able to walk no he’s wheel chair bound. He just wants to drift so I figured that the gunner movements founder would’ve jump on the opportunity to help out but he told me that he had to think about it. Then he just blew me off

Have had only 1 automatic transmission since I got my licens 25 years ago the rest has been manuals. And totaly agree even if I have done a lot of daily driving. You need to be practicing still when you want to race. Especially powershifts is a little tricky until you get the muscle memory back to do them. Hard to keep that right foot to the metall while shifting. So practice practice practice on your own a lot.
If you read this Aki. It would be awesome to see a driving collab with Jimmy Oakes and you. He learn you to drift in the Nissonda and you learn him banging gears in Project Driver. Think you and the guys around you would have a great time doing this. Would be awesome to see it been done on the track as well. Imagine swinging a RWD Civic LOL. Would be amazing to see that!

Man I thought I knew how to drive and shift like a pro but I watched just to see how you did it and I’ll be damned if I didn’t learn something! Shifting 4th to 5th I always shifted over and up instead of straight diagonal into 5th so much easier! Keep em comming broski

Thank you Aki for all the gems youve given us and continue to give us in these videos! One suggestion I would like to offer is if possible try doin a split screen or a small window on screen to show the footwork at the same time as you shift. It may cut down the time of the video because you will be showing 2 clips simultaneously but I believe it will be much more useful in showing beginners just how crucial the timing is between the clutch and shifting.
