When I write my own songs, it's always music first, then lyrics. In fact, when I write, I ask myself how does the chord progression make me feel? What would I like to write about within the context of how the music sounds. I usually write the "hook" first, then flesh out the rest of the song.
I totally get this. I find the best songs I’ve written are the acoustic ones. The more I start adding others instruments to a song the further from the original inspiration I get if I am not careful.
I think that's why I haven't liked his stuff since Teargarden. It's kind of sad. I thought he was doing what he wanted, and not minding about the money. But it seems like he's stifling himself for an audience that's not his.
He has the capability of expressing himself so well when talking about abstract concepts....
this is the most insightful interview about the pumpkins sound and it only has 8000 views lol.
i know right.
Billy has rejected the media machine and does his own thing now. Most people only listen to what they're fed, so they're unlikely to see this.
Wahahahahaha
the passion for music is inspiring
This guy has made so many great songs. He still feels underrated to me.
He is a genius for sure, i was a massive fan growing up, I can appreciate his influence on many other great bands and people he still knows
This guy has always tooken the words out of my mouth and put them in a song💖💖💖

Short video but a lot said. Billy is always very interesting in conversation. Life/Music lessons all in one.
The Rick Beato interview with him was excellent.

Good video. What Yamaha guitar model is that?
Blueser100 his own
That’s the Yamaha LJ16BC (Billy Corgan) Signature model.
I agree, the acoustic is much more important.
I thin the model of his guitar should be featured in the description.
All you have to do is Google "Billy Corgan Yamaha signafure"

This is way too short.
If you were to ask me when I was 13 if Billy Corgan would ever become a wise musical sage, I'd have said get the f* out of here.
