Julien was supposed to be just a minor character in the movie Madagascar

Did you know that in the movie Madagascar, Julien was supposed to have two lines and be just a minor character at first. Sacha Baron Cohen, however, recorded eight minutes of improvised conversation during his audition for the part. Because of Cohen's hilarious performance, the directors decided to rewrite the script and give Julien more of a central role as the King of the Lemurs.
