    2 years ago I got one of these from Amazon. I thought it would look cool and a memory of my '68 Mustang Fastback that I sold so I could get my 2018 Heritage Softail. I love it!

    • @kalways_kustoms
      @kalways_kustoms  Před rokem

      I have not had any issues with water inside the taillight. If this is happening, you either have a void in the seal at the gasket, or there is a crack or defect in the plastic, allowing water in. Thanks for watching!!!

    The RK is very clean for its age, good job, it’s hard where I live, weather is to nice to waste the day shining the Crome when you can be out there running the canyons. Mine’s an 05.

    I bought the same light. Mine has indicators on the edge lights and the when you hit the brake, it hyper pulsates for 2 seconds then goes solid.

    • @kalways_kustoms

      It is the same size as far as fitment to the bezel. It is a laydown style, so it's thinner at the top....if that makes sense. It's a really good quality light, and I would buy it again in a second.

    Thanks for sharing. I have a 2016 Road King. When I put the wires into the electrical connector and plug it in, the wires pop out. How did you place yours in so it doesn’t do that?

    • @kalways_kustoms
      @kalways_kustoms  Před 3 lety +1

      Mine went right in and the little plastic clasp snaps right down over it. I have heard of some people having to crimp the end of the connector slightly to get it to seat inside of the plug.

    Purchased the same light for my 2004 ultra and for some odd reason it would not seat properly due to the bigger harness pluged into the base☹️ ended up putting in a led bulb that flashes when the brakes are applied...ill try again with a different one maybe to see if it will fit.

      Is it possible to do away with the harness plug and just hard-wire the connection? I just ordered the same taillight for my '98 Road King and hope I don't have the same issue.

      @@kalways_kustoms nope didnt work at all regardlesswhat I did..the back housing on the aftermarket light was hitting the rear connections on the bike.. seems the gasket provided was not thick enough. After the buld replacement i found a light by eagle lights (american company) that worked perfect anf fit exactly..best thing is its a lifetime warranty on the leds..bad thing it was almost 100 beans but i think it was worth it and im happy.

    WHERE CAN I FIND THAT PLATE MOUNT KIT THAT FITS TO YOUR TAI LIGHT

    • @kalways_kustoms
      @kalways_kustoms  Před měsícem

      Not sure exactly what you mean. The mount for the plate is the stock road king bracket that came on the bike from the factory. It's separate from the taillight. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

  • @peteedmonds3211
    @peteedmonds3211 Před rokem +1

    Great video. I have the same taillight and love the design. How did you setup your turn signals to come on as brake lights? I want this same function, turn signals as turn and brake only, not running lights. Thanks.

    • @kalways_kustoms
      @kalways_kustoms  Před rokem

      Actually, that was setup that way on the bike when I got it. Someone had installed it. It's a plug and play module that goes inline with the wiring. Thanks for watching!

    • @peteedmonds3211
      @peteedmonds3211 Před rokem +1

      After some research, I found that this is how the standard road king turn signals work. On the bike I have, Road King Custom FLHRSI, the turn signals are turn only. So I will need to compare the wiring diagrams to make the change.

    • @peteedmonds3211
      @peteedmonds3211 Před rokem +1

    Just bought this same taillight for my 2000 Electra Glide Ultra Classic and the housing in the taillight was far too shallow bc there's an electrical box on the fender keeping the taillight from going on the fender flush. Pretty pissed.

      Several hours later, completed mods as necessary to fit this lens to my bike. A lot of dinking around, but it is a beautiful piece . If you get one of these take a good hard look at what it DOES'NT fit. It might be possible to get a bracket from another model bike that will fit the circuit board with clearance. I think it's worth it because it is an original look and I like it, very bright, like you want for daytime.
