  • In today's video, I dyno tune a Supercharged 2014 Sierra 5.3 that has just been equipped with a BTR 220 Camshaft. I also talk a little bit about where I've been and why I haven't made any videos in a month.

    Love your channel!!!! I went from a built C7 ZO6 to a Trackhawk. I'm building it now to try to make close to 1000 wheel. I was hoping you would do some videos about some hellcat based vehicles. So I'm all for you making a trackhawk video!!!!

    I like that "crisp" shift. I started following you because of your 6L80/90 trans tune. I hate the way my 2500 shifts. Will put your tricks to use, till I kill this trans. I enjoy your content. Learning everyday😊

    I was kinda bummed out after you said you were gonna dial in the airflow correlation tables but you never did show how.
    Other than that, it was a great video.
    I even learned something new.
    Thank you sir. 🙏

      Yeah sorry about that. Some stuff just ends up getting cut out either from a technical/audio issue or sometimes I will just forget that I said I will show something and I’ll end up doing it off camera. I’ll make a note to show that process in one of the upcoming videos.

    • @pcmfrenzy1089
      @pcmfrenzy1089 Před 5 měsíci

      @@Matt_Sanford that would be cool to show how you dial in them correlation tables instead of just maxing them out.
      Also do you ever adjust the virtual torque tables in mid range and top end. I’d like to see some more information on this if you wouldn’t mind sharing.
      Again, thank you 🙏

    So hey man, im trying to wrap me head around tuning, ive done some with Holley ecus and i think it spoiled me, i was wondering if youd want to come on a live sometime and answer some questions about tuning, thanks.

  • @CTSVNZ
    @CTSVNZ Před 6 měsíci

    Another awesome video, thank you. Question please. The VE and Maff airflow need to be as close to each other as possible - and providing the correct mixture as commanded, yes. When you said on this tune they were not close enough, with the Eq error is swing around - .3 to +5%, (you have a min/max?) is this EQ error a factor of these two figures? You have Dynamic shown, this is an engine calc of the two that it's using, interesting for sure, but is it of any interest in the tune itself? Apologise for dumb questions, but I'm learning, from you, Thanks

    These off the shelf 113 LSA cams limit the engine timing adjustability to 5k+ rpm and 4 degrees max.😢

    I am working on a Ls3 swap in my 03'Crown Vic Police Interceptor. I am planning on running a 4L80. Can the 4L80 run on a Gen 4 system? Or should I change the ring and cam gear and make it a Gen 3 setup. Does the Gen 3 DBW have cruise control and traction control?. I enjoy your videos brother.

    Notice you used stft vs MAF and not Dyn Air vs MAF to tune the MAF scale this time. Any reason?

    Hey question for you Matt.
    You seem to have plenty of real world experience with the L83, especially FI/Supercharged.
    The lack of information given how common the L83 is mind blowing.
    I'm trying to gather some info and expectations for a path forward with a blower on my FBO L83 Tahoe.
    My question is this, with a Whipple 2.9L, a LT4 blower, TVS2650 or even a P1 based procharger, what type of power are people getting out of them at that 7-8psi "base" level? What about pullied down to around 10-12psi?
    I have tlno problem dealing with DI and have been for a while messing with German cars, so assuming proper LPFP/HPFP/Injectors and return/lines, can you share any general info on a tual results for any/each of those on a stock bottom L83?
    Great videos! Love the detail

      If you know what you make in your current setup, you can do the math by taking the power it made at the atmospheric pressure it made that at, you can find your whp per psi of atmospheric pressure. Multiply that by the ABSOLUTE manifold pressure (ex. 14.7 psi at sea level plus 7 psi multiplied by your whp per psi value).
      This will give you a reasonable power expectation, with respect to the fuel type you use.
      Example on an NA truck making 300 whp at sea level then adding 7 psi of boost.
      300 whp / 14.7 psi = 20.41 whp per psi
      20.41 x (14.7 psi + 7 psi) = ~443 whp
      I tuned a D1 ProCharged L83 on 91 with just headers and a downward facing intercooler and it made 427 whp on 14* of timing, which is what it should've made since those trucks stock usually dyno around 280-290 whp on the dyno I use.
