You'd think Kaiba would stop being an asshole about Ishizu's necklace considering the crap she pulled on him in their duel back in Battle City, but then again, dub Kaiba is *really* adamant about not believing in magic for whatever reason.
I think it's because the idea of destiny goes against Kaiba's ideals as a self-made man.

While I am not complaining about using dub Kaiba in the slightest, it does remind me of that infuriating aspect of his personality.

I enjoy how each of the duels had some form of significance to each other:
Joey vs Marik: Marik using the sacred beasts as mockery towards the Egyptian gods, due to his past with them.
Joey proving his worthiness by summoning Ra, with a little assistance of course.
Joey defeating Marik by using his own specialty against him: Burn
Kaiba vs. Pegasus:
A rematch that was never seen in the original series proper.
Pegasus using the gate guardian cards, as they symbolize the off the wall rules of duelist kingdom the best out of any modern deck.
Kaiba pushing through all of the odd effects of the guardians, utilizing his tried and true deck of blue eyes, showing not only it's raw power, but strategic ability. Always underestimated, never expected.
Atem Vs. Bakura:
Bakura throughout the entire duel seemed as though he was dueling circles around Atem, keeping constant pressure through his updated occult strategies and dark mirror wicked gods.
In reality, Atem had an answer to my everything, even if he had only one card and no field. Bakura lost before the game even started.
Mai & Aster vs. Paradox:
The two Duelists who's entire lives revolve around the game, both being professional duelists, fighting against the one who wants to destroy the entire game itself, effectively ruining their lives.
Both characters shown to be very independent and slow to trust having to rely on each other and trust each other to push through the near unstoppable relentless force of Paradox.
Even with the cheating of rewriting the rules at the last minute, there was still a legal play available that cause the downfall of Paradox.
As a former pizza delivery driver, I appreciate Marik’s dedication 😂
Marik proves he is the stronger one compared to his dark half.
Aster and Mai being pals in this series is pretty wholesome and something I didn't even know I'd like in my life.
Honestly, I love how, not only is this very funny and well thought out, but it also teaches that current Yu-Gi-Oh isn't as bad as many 'Yugi-boomers' say it is. Sure, it's more complicated and you need to actually learn stuff, but it can still be fun and interactive.
Adapt and overcome in other words.

Yugi: It confuses me why Pegasus would remake the Egyptian gods knowing that everyone else making them perished and that playing a counterfeit version got you struck by lightning.

Kaiba: Yugi. It took Pegasus eight years to realize all he needed to do to fix Twin-Headed Behemoth was to rewrite the card instead of keeping it limited. Do you honestly expect him to grasp the concept of self-preservation if he can't understand using a keyboard for actually 30 seconds?

Yugi: Apparently it was because he thought Sphere Mode looked like a big glowing bowling ball and didn't give it a second thought.

Actually, it took six years to nerf Twin-Heade Behemoth, according to the registers, it was limited on 2003, and it wasn't nerfed until 2009, in the OCG, it took seven years instead, as it got limited there on 2002

Also, I think Bakura misunderstood what the Wicked Eraser does. It's board clearing effect only applies if it's destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, but tributing it to summon The Wicked Avatar isn't destroying it, so it shouldn't have activated its board-wiping effect.
It was a different variation. The version I ran in the simulator wasn't the version that the public plays so the effects are a little different, same with the God Cards. So they were all a little more powerful than usual.

This was really good, the jokes in between or in place of duels were really fun and the duels themselves were rather cool especially Joey's thanks to him and yami marik having a lot of material. It was also cool to see bakura get to actually use some of his season 5 cards and the wicked gods. That being said I will say that modern duel strategies make the pacing a bit of a whiplash narratively (not that i would suggest avoiding them seeing all the new cards was cool) and 4 simultaneous duels were a lot to pay attention too especially because Kaiba's duel just kind of sits in the middle mostly uncut for 11 minutes.
I also didn't really understand, is the bakura in this duel thief king bakura or zork?
