Chiefs, as I call it for short, is one of the first songs I wrote for what would be my first solo record, Jalamanta. Its been a song that has traveled with me for almost 20 years now and its like an old friend. its a very personal song about growing up in the desert and having those daily experiences of living in a small town, desperately trying to find someone you can relate to. trying to find something authentic. something real. the feelings of being outcast and using the frustration to fuel your dreams for something more spiritual than material. the title "Too many chiefs and not enough Indians" is about America's obsession with "winners". Authority and false prophets. Without Indians there would be no Chiefs.

This is one of my favourite songs of all time. This performance just adds to the beauty so much. Brant really has it, written and made from his soul.
This makes me so happy to see. Listening to Brant over the years and especially with Tres Dias, it fills me with a feeling of peace that I can't describe, and I've always pictured him just chillin outside in the desert sun jamming these out. I will save this video for a day when I've no work, I can sit back and light a big ass bowl.

En mi ciudad Almería, tenemos un desierto que es el mas grande de Europa, el clima y el paisaje es muy parecido a california. "El desierto de TABERNAS" Se parece mucho a PALM desert. Aqui apenas se escucha rock y es una pena la incultura musical de la gente, ojala hubiesen músicos como Brant aquí. Su musica es realmente inspiradora, te transporta. STONER ROCK RULES.
