As someone who grew up with this model as his Mother's car from 1998 to 2013, this hits me with nostalgia.
I drive a 96 V6 everyday. I love it!
This is the car I drive to school everyday, but its absolutely torn up, rusting, damaged, with the interior all ripped up. The power steering system is leaking even after multiple repairs and the exhaust also needed replacing. Thing has nearly 300,000 miles so its interesting to see what my car is supposed to look like and sound like lol
My grandma had a 2000 xle. I still remember its beige paint and matching leather seats. I really hope it’s still running today.

I had an 85 then a 99 camry, now I am back to a 97 camry that I bought from an elderly fellows family after he passed. So been trying to do some light clean up and updating things that need to be. But I love her but she is still small. 😅 I need a Sienna now haha. They are such good cars.
I just traded in my 98 Camry last week for a 2014 Camry. I loved that car, but it was time to move on and stay current.

if you grease the steering shaft just above the pedals it will get rid of the squeaky noise.

I am just wondering were these were made in the USA because of the left hand side indicator stalk and l can see the apeal if these everything worked and l could see one small issue the cover for the vanity mirror on the drivers sun visor but a very good example now these were made in Australia for the Australian market and they must have sold them in the tens of thousands because there are still plenty of them still on the road in N.S.W Australia because l see plenty of them driving around and us Australians like to buy reliable cars and keep them for a long time l have a 1997 Toyota Hilux myself owned it about three years and it is very good and l am pretty the 1990s to the early 2000s was the best Toyotas ever built because there are many still on the road driving around see them every day when l go for a drive in my Hilux
