I don’t think Cell was interested in destroying the planet until he became a sore loser from losing to Gohan
I honestly think cell wanted to experience being tired but still having a gratifying victory in the end.
Nah he would have done it eventually he just knew the only guys who could probably challenge him were on earth and wanted to test his abilities before heading out.
When he lose he remind me of the way frieza act when he losing. With a little vegeta in the mix. Those genes was coming out lol

My head canon for Cell's core getting blown up and him still regenerating after the Kamehameha is that the core is only important if Cell is totally destroyed. Otherwise he has plenty of his body left to regenerate from.
Bingo cell's regen probably got upgraded with the androids unlimited stamina.
@@sebas8225 No Cell didn't get the unlimited stamina when he absorbed them. His fight with Goku was clearly wearing him down and since they can sense his energy it proves he's using natural KI and not whatever Gero used to power 16, 17, and 18.
I dont see a reason why he cant shift where his core is at. Just like buu you have to destroy every molecule

When Goku was breathing heavily he was almost out of energy but for Cell it was more like someone that ran around a city block a few times
Cell also had the androids absorbed meaning his unlimited stamina would get him back at full power in just a few secs of breathing in and out.
With ss2 gohan the power gap was so massive cell's stamina couldnt keep up.
Piccolo said "both their powers have dropped tremendously but Goku was dropping much faster" I'd say cell used around 70% while Goku was basically at the end.

Even though Cell had lost significant energy, he was probably only using about half his power against Goku. Without getting a senzu bean from Goku he still would have easily stomped everyone if he powered up to his maximum! (Before Gohan went SSJ2)

Amazes me how anyone thinks Goku could've beaten Cell. When Perfect Cell does his final powerup against SSJ2 Gohan everyone including Goku is shocked by his max power.
I dont see why goku was shocked either cell already lowballed his power just to let krillin's kienzan tickle his neck and vegeta final flash to disarm him why wouldnt he do the same to goku's kamehameha?

He definitely couldn't of beaten cell that much we can agree on but I think people overestimate cells strength cause I always give it about 70-75% he was fighting Goku due to how tired he was after. So he suppressed about 30% of his full power which is still a lot.
The tanking of krillins attack was filler. Krillin attack has yet to be tanked in canon.
Enough power for Goku to give him a Senzu Bean.

8 or 10 maybe 15% right off the bat regening but cell would've quickly recovered with time with a few breaths regardless of senzu due to androids infinite stamina he absorbed.

Why are we so certain that Perfect Cell had infinite stamina? I like the idea, but was there a feat I missed that suggested it? I don’t think it can be assumed just because he absorbed the androids?

I'm guessing cell has infinite "stamina regeneration". meanign he can restore himself even as far as ki lost, besides his body parts.
what I mean is he put all his power into his kamehameha vs gohan, then got blasted by gohan himself, pushign the kamehameha cell fired back at him, damaging cells body.
cell regenerated, and then used his power weighted form, a form that drains stamina and cell went further than even a "ussj" which already was said to drain ki pretty fast or consume energy, which was another reason goku decided to master regular ssj.
cell never ran out of ki, and only stopped when he was forced to puke out 18.
then he put all his ki into his self destruction.
he was only 1 cell, his core or whatever, regenerated into his perfect form and not only was at "full power" but was also stronger than he was before he fired the initial fp kamehameha.
so, there is somethign to be said about transforming into his perfect form that restores ki, but I think the core just drips ki into cell at a constant rate, so even if he loses ki, its restored quickly.
this could be why cell "lost" power when goku blew up his top half. but it came back.
Cell didn't swallow the senzu properly, it got caught partially down his throat and ended up in his lung. He didnt realize this was wrong because he's never eaten with his mouth before. Later, when he blew himself up, the senzu touched his stomach, and that caused him to regenerate.
Considering that Goku at half power in SSJ was more than Vegeta at full power in SSJ before Vegeta went to TCOST the second time, and that the fight only drained the two to the point that Goku struggled more with the Cell Jr than Vegeta, I think it's safe to assume that Cell was likely at around 55% to 60% of his full power. This would of course put him at about 50% more power than Vegeta in SSJ, or about 10% more than Vegeta in SSJ Grade 2. This is actually comparable to when Vegeta directly hit Cell with his Final Flash, as he took enough damage to have to recover his entire arm and much of his torso. So he was likely more worn than when this happened. Cell would likely have been at about two thirds his full power after being struck by Vegeta. This would mean that Trunks in SSJ Grade 3 (during the Cell Games) would be nearly 25% more powerful than Cell after Goku, which isn't going to help with that slow bulk.
Here is some estimations I have made with Goku in SSJ being at a 100.
Cell Saga:
Vegeta SSJ (Vs Semiperfect Cell) = 48
Vegeta SSJ Grade 2 = 60
Perfect Cell (After Vegeta's attack) = 80
Trunks SSJ Grade 3 = 88
Goku SSJ = 100
Perfect Cell (First Appearance) = 120
Cell Games Saga
Vegeta SSJ = 56
Vegeta SSJ G2 = 72
Trunks SSJ = 52
Trunks SSJ G3 = 104
Perfect Cell (Cell Games) = 125 [Likely did his own training during the 10 day period... maybe on some rocks in space or something? Or maybe it was just that hetap, wink wink]
Goku (After Fighting Cell) = 50
Perfect Cell (After Fighting Goku + Zenkai from Head Explodies) = 77
Perfect Cell (Vs Gohan Round One) = 140
Gohan SSJ = 200
Gohan SSJ2 = 400
Perfect Cell (Buff) = 280
Perfect Cell (After Zenkai from Self Explosion on King Kai World) = 160
Super Perfect Cell = 320
Gohan SSJ2 (Arm Injured, Will Broken) = 200
Gohan SSJ2 (Arm Injured, Full Power) = 320
The main reason Cell was so confident in defeating the others, despite having less BASE power than his Full Power would be at is because he is a master at ki control and power flow. Despite his BASE power now being at 77, he could still tap into his full power all the way up to 140, it just would put more of a strain on him and his energy reserves. Dragon Ball characters have a tendency to most of their power after a long and hard fight, but can still push themselves to their limits despite them already being exhausted. Also, a power difference of 5% can actually be a huge difference (case in point for Monster Zarbon and Vegeta, where Vegeta was likely only 5% stronger at the time.)
Lastly, he likely knew that he could continue relying on his abilities, such as energy absorption through his tail, his saiyan genetics to obtain zenkais during battle with near death experiences, and saiyan genetics to continue growing in battle as shown when his base power rose from 125 to 160 in a quick burst of time.
However, he did not account for Gohan's strength as Gohan was suppressing his power. This is the ultimate reason why he tossed Cell the sensu, because he knew that Gohan, even in SSJ was already stronger than Cell, but also knew that Cell could push Gohan to his limits to the point of SSJ2.
I said about 70%-75% giving how the fight went and how tired out cell was and how piccolo said both their powers dropped trendmously but Goku was dropping faster But I guess 60% is close to my number.

Imagine Cell trained, he would be unstoppable..He has Friezas Cells and Saiyan cells, He could reach the Golden form, the black form, and combine that with Super Saiyan G*d Ki if he ever manages to learn it. On top of that he could blow himself up and come back stronger, Cells the ultimate prodigy and the most intelligent villian. Cell even has Super Saiyan Aura.

The real question is, did Cell get a Zenkai boost from the regen. It was reminiscent of Vegeta getting the zenkai after a senzu to recover from fighting recoom. If you assume zenkai's are based on how close to death you get, and not the active threat, then it'd be a small boost, but its plausible Gohan, pre-SS2, would have been a match for Cell prior to the zenkai he got fighting goku, and that goku did not realize Cell was capable of getting Zenkai so assumed the Cell who'd be fighting his son would be the same one he's fought (albeit fighting at full strength but goku seemed to believe he had a rough idea of what Cell's full strength was and that Gohan could take him at full strength) and then was caught off guard by the gap between them pre-SS2 as a result.
All of which is to say, even if Cell didn't lose THAT much power fighting goku, it could be argued the senzu gave him a huge power boost anyway because of said Zenkai combined with the power regained from healing.
Even if zenkai are based on active threat (though situations like goku getting stronger and stronger with each near death in heavy gravity rather then only the first time, or the fact vegeta got a frieza-esque boost from fighting recoom even though Frieza was just as active a threat as he was to vegeta when vegeta fought zarbon) there's an argument to be made that the instant transmission kamehameha multiplied goku's power briefly well beyond SS1 Gohans, so its possible Cell Zenkai'd to the Kamehameha power level, rather then gokus SS1 power level.

I would say his body is able to regenerate as long as there's energy but I would say that the specific cell that is in his head is a final protocol for him to be completely regenerated upon his death. So even though his top half was blowing off his body would regenerate that failsafe just because there was 65% of his body remaining to begin with
I imagine the issue was that cell due to having absorbed 2 androids with infinite stamina started to get cocky and overly on piccolo's regen him throwing up 18 was a consequence of abusing heavily stamina taxing moves while thinking he was HIM and that the rules wouldnt apply to him.
I'd love to see an in depth "What if Goku DID take a sensu bean against Cell.
Tried a breif scroll on YT and it all seems to be what if Goku didn't give cell a sensu bean.
I know Cell would have still won, but it would be cool to see how the fight would play out.
Would Cell power up to 100% power against a fresh Goku and annihilate him to put fear into the Z warriors?
Or would he take his time to enjoy the fight more like he did the first time around.

What multiplier is Bulky Cell vs "Full Power" Cell? He had his "Grade 3" buff that he held back because of speed issues until he got desperate.
I always figured he would have fought more evenly with Gohan without that senzu bean because he probably got a zenkai power boost from it being that he just got his face blown off from Goku.
Hypothetically he might have gotten a bigger boost when he came back from exploding if things went similar to before.
Technically Cell had no breaks during his time on Earth up until that point. So the Senzu covered all of the strain of healing so often, especially since he got damaged alot in semi perfect state. 😅🤓

I think it would have been more appropriate to say that as long as a single cell remains with its nucleus intact, regeneration is possible. Each cell contains the entire genetic code for Cell and has the ability to replicate itself, seemingly indefinitely, if undisturbed.

Goku vs Cell in the anime was one of the better fights in DBZ. Just imagine if he went kaioken on top of super saiyan.

In the Buu saga Piccolo is made into a stone statue, shattered, and then later turned back into flesh and he then supposedly regenerates from that.
With that in mind, I don't see why Cell couldn't regenerate from losing his upper half. If it was not for the later mention of his "core".
I suppose we're meant to think that the core either was not actually in Cells head at that time, or that it somehow survived the instant transmission kamehameha blast despite the rest of the head being gone.

Interesting topic but a bit redundant when Goku gives him a Senzu bean right after. Plus he suggested Goku eat one himself so he can keep fighting we all know Cell was nowhere near full power cause his actually full power had Goku flabbergasted during his fight with SS2 Gohan. So the answer is probably not much, maybe a little under 50 percent.
Actually, from what I recall, there is a sequence (at least in the anime), where gohan taps into his anger/power/will to fight, separate and prior to his ssj2 transformation - and this is enough to land a nasty kick on cell even after he powers up to full, and causes significant damage. I think there may actually be evidence to suggest that a tired out cell would lose to a gohan who is simply willing to fight, even without ssj2.

Not sure, cell was confident in himself not knowing gohans abilities but cell was about to kill goku before he gave up , goku knew that as well. The cell jr technique was also unknown to the Z fighters as well.
Could you cover why even if the Saiyans all went Oozaru against Freeza it wouldn't have even dented him in his suppressed form? Since there's a lot of misconceptions claiming that the Saiyans rebellion could have been successful if that happened and I'd like to see you're analysis here.
If the entire planet oozarooed and mouth beamed him it would work, but most saiyans don't have control of ape form, they generally don't work together, and freeza isn't gonna stand there and take it. It'd never happen

I feel that he didn't really lose much, and would've regained it all anyway because Gohan would've still been passive. The senzu situation is all weird to me. Like, Trunks really didn't need to eat one. He was hurt but he wasn't near death or anything, and Toriyama forgot they can be split in half since the Saiyan Saga lol. Trunks could've lived and Gohan could've gave his proper beatdown
I think powers and power levels are never explained well in DBZ. We don't really see an explicit breakdown between physical stamina and level of power output until Resurrection F.

I'd say Cell was going 70-75 percent full power. It had to be enough to where Cell would actually enjoy himself but still have enough to shock everyone later.
Idk it’s sort of a plot hole about saying as long as his core is intact but at the same time he says EACH cell has a life of its own in the anime at least.
This is why I'm not a fan for regeneration. It gets to a point were it becomes arbitrary. You're telling me that Cell, or Piccolo can regenerate their entire body, but can't regenerate mild injuries, or lost energy? You can argue that regenerating requires energy, but if that's the case, how did Cell regenerate after being so drained and beaten by SSJ2 Gohan? Not only part of his body, but his entire body. And on top of that, came back with more power. With that logic, he wouldn't need a senzu bean. Just regenerate the damage that Goku dealt, and get a zenkai boost on top of that.
It doesn't ruin the story for me, but it has always bothered me.

I think Cell would have stolen the Senzu beans from Krillin regardless. Even if for some reason he lost enough power that Gohan was winning, Cell would resort to it. He knew Krillin was holding them. And besides possibly a full powered Goku, no one would be able to stop him from taking them. He ends up with one regardless.
I’m gonna preface this by saying that I haven’t watched the video yet. This is my personal opinion. Even though Cell wasn’t going all out against Goku, I still think he lost a significant amount of energy. Think of it like running a mile. You don’t go full sprint for all 4 laps. You use only a percentage of your speed to maintain stamina. However, regardless of the level you’re running at, you will still begin to run out of juice because energy is still being used over an extended period of time.

People down play how strong full power regular perfect cell really was because of gohan being on a vastly higher level than him still to the point super perfect would have lost anyway it panned out except it seemed gohan sort of underestimated him a little bit and scared himself after the wound.
Goku is smarter than we think. He was showing the rest of the Z fighters more of Cell new abilities and what else he's capable of. Remember this was a tournament and Cell was an entire new opponent in this form

You know what I find interesting, unless I’m wrong I believe cell can sense energy as well. Why couldn’t he tell that Gohan was vastly superior to him in power? I get that he has an ego but I would think he would be able to know the difference between the two since he was able to adjust his power to Goku’s level. Just a thought.

It's doubtful Cell would of lost any power when fighting Goku if you look at the last one who damaged Cell to that degree it'd of been Vegeta using his Final Flash and he was playing around the entire time he didn't lose an ounce of power from that, regeneration may take a lot out of him but I think as he evolved to semi perfect, then Perfect regeneration took less of a toll on his body and his Ki for the simple fact that it's stopped being a desperation type act and more of a "Alright you got me, I'll just regenerate though so not for real.".

I mean if were being honest Cell never had a chance. If the Goku v Cell fight continued im sure Gohan blasts Cell in full rage mode whenever Goku is about to die or take major damage. Gohan has shown to do so every single time whenever they hurt his friends/family.

Incorrect information...that's not why Cell holds back, he holds back because he has the cells of Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan, Goten, Piccolo, Tien, Yamcha and Chiazou which gives him their powers and their personality flaws. Saiyans all passed on their power and ego that they get in battle.
Does cell get zenkai boosts like saiyan since he has some of their dna? If so he would’ve been even stronger after goku fight+sensu bean.
I always was bothered why Cell would eat a senzu, if he can regenarate he should have been healed already. He is an Anroid right, so he shouldn't suffer from fatigue

Even if cell was easier to defeat without his senzu and they somehow overpowered him by jumping him they wouldn't have the firepower to disintegrate him outright and he would have just thrown a tantrum sooner and self-destruct anyway. 😂
