How To Remove VW Golf MK5 headlights

In this video I show you how to remove and replace VW Golf MK5 Headlights.
I am upgrading the stock headlights to a darker looking set from a VW Golf GT TDi.
This is pretty much the same procedure on a VW Jetta

Check if the bulbs are fitted correctly and the headlights are adjust properly at a MOT garage.

I’ve watched 4 videos now and no one explains how to remove the wires from the back of the headlight, we need a better description on how to remove it instead of “just disconnect that”

Common sense is your friend 😂😂 push the clip like the other 1000 connectors on the car

Are there any drain holes on these headlights? Mine are starting to trap condensation and I’m not sure if I need to replace as the front seal between the lens and shell has gone or if it’s something simple.

Drill a tiny hole on the underside of the headlight, should cure the condensation

Oh this was a few years, just look on eBay for canbus led bulbs. They only fit one way round.

It's an absolute ball ache, need heat and to cut the sealer

That connector just doesn’t come out I got one but the other is glued

Squeeze the Tab push then pull usually does the trick

Awesome it may help to give the torx screws a blast of wd40 sometimes they rust on solid

This does not work for USA MK5. the bumper cover has to come off.

There is a small little lever on the clip, you need to pull that back till you hear a click then pull the plug out
