- Thanks for tuning in to todays video! Ive been getting this question A LOT and I thought it was finally time to address the best 3 rigs for fishing out here in the grand state of AZ! I narrowed it down to the wacky rig, drop shot, and the good ol texas rig! My goal was to explain each rig and their uses than catch a fish on each! hope you guys enjoy!
I appreciate you going over some basic rigs and techniques. I watch guys that tell you they're fishing a certain rig, but they never tell you how to set it up and fish it. Thanks Bro.

Worst state for fishing
I can't tell you the scores of crappie and various other fish we caught on these jigs at Bartlett Lake. Cheap and very effective, slow to medium draw and up and down. Good Luck

On a drop shot. After knot is done run your line through the hook hole down toward the weight and it will keep your hook straight and stout, just my opinion....

Iv only ever caught sunfish and channel cats here at bartlett. I'm going again next weekend to get some sunfish bait and try for a flat head.
Sometimes I make the tag end longer on the drop shot rig and it helps alot. Try it . Please

Armdad44 green pumpkin magic, okechobee craw, summer craw, and cinnamon black flake are all good options
You know, here in Texas, the south in general, a 5 plus pound largemouth is "meh". But those short little guys yall get look way more sporty. Yall have way better quality fish IMO. I look foward to fishing up there.Thanks for the tips

just curious why you leave your hook exposed and dont hide it on the dropshot like you do with a T-rig worm, ive always tried to hide my hook on the dropshot.
Cole Altherr it depends. I do throw it weedless at times just varies on the situation. Open water with rock or fishing deep water I’m always throwing an exposed hook. You’re getting the best hook up ratio with your hook exposed and in deep water the hook will penetrate better. Around cover like trees bushes grass etc. I think a weedless setup goes a long way. Sometimes you have to be getting in the cover to get those bites meaning you’re probably going to get snagged with an exposed hook. Hook up ratio isn’t as good so you have to be aware of that in deep water but allows you to get in the cover where the fish are. A lot of it is personal preference to. You want to fish confidently at all times! Thanks for checking out the video 🤙🏼

Tying the Palomar wrong -> includes burning the line.. aka, the extreme twisting occurring after seating the knot. 1) lubrication needed 2) all loops must be even through the whole pulling process. 3) you will break off on an AZ 8lber

Fishing the wacky through the worm work too? Or does that o-ring help the presentation? Great content by the way, I enjoy it for sure! Keep it up bro 👊🏼 🔥!!!
For smaller finesse worms I like to run the hook through the worm itself. However with larger worms like a senko, the o ring is a must have. If you run the hook through the worm without the o ring and make a strong cast there’s a good chance that the weight of the worm will rip away from the hook and cause you to cast your bait into oblivion. Never seen the o-ring deal for a whacky rig, seems like a lot of extra work. Everyone I've fished with up in Minnesota just hooks through the worm. Saves an extra step and don't need any one-trick tools in the tackle box.
You can hook it through the worm it works with lighter baits. I like the o ring because it helps my hook to land ratio with more hook exposed also I can give it a full cast and not worry about the worm ripping off

They say you can double o ring, kinda crisscross over each other.
And run hook between both then keeping the hook facing away from worm.
Or not parallel with worm /|\. The middle straight line is your hook. The side lines are your o ring crisscrossing.

The O-ring method allows you to use less bait. It really keeps your bait from being pulled off the hook!

Yes as of right now Bartlett is completely open for fishing or boating. Camping is still prohibited

There’s a lot of good options out there it all depends on your budget. The shimano slx is one of the best at $99

Ryder Kocherhans the abu Garcia black max was my first bait caster and seems to be a favorite of many people. Way more price friendly
