Not to give leeway with how cursed this game is in just about every way, but 20-round trench mags (grabenmagazin) were a thing for Mauser pattern rifles (specifically the Gewehr 98) in The Great War. They didn't put it on the correct rifle in this game (K98k v G98), but given that it's a real thing Germany did with that style of rifle, that's not as cursed as it may seem on the surface. There's also a Garand with a drum mag that still pings on empty despite the fact that the clip wouldn't be there if converted for use with a magazine. And the amount of optical sights is just shameful.

This argument is so stupid. It's obviously meant for background noise to create the atmosphere. If you wanted realism the game would be unplayable because explosions are happening like every second causing so much noise.

Conversely Brothers in Arms had pretty lackluster, even for the time, graphics but a really good writing team and it was immensely better and more historically correct

Was a POW in North Africa before escaping the camp and getting sent back to England and then being prepped for the d-day jump. He survived the war only to die to cancer in 98'. He also burnt his uniform after the war as his regiment was the british regiment that murdered innocent Irish Civilians in Belfast during bloody sunday ( Irish Catholic family)

My great grandfather was a career soldier for 20 years when the war broke out and was stationed as an noncommissioned officer in north africa for the brits. He had previously been in Afghanistan in the 30s and also india. But my family are also off irish catholics and still have family in Donegal to this day, so when all that happened in derry it really turned my family against the british army big time, and to this day it is a rule in my family to never join the british army due to their multiple massacres committed in northern ireland and all over the world.

It's a pretty game, I'll give it that. Could you imagine Call of Duty 1 and 2 remastered on this engine? One can only dream... I feel like they focused so much on the atmosphere and cinematics that it took away from the gameplay experience. It almost feels like you spend more time watching cutscenes than actually playing (Call of Duty WWII had that same problem as well). If you're going to do that, at least make the game true to history so that I can actually learn something, you know?

So you can choose from four difficulty levels Easy is for beginners and people who want no challenge Normal is for people who want the fighting elevated a bit mode but can still breeze through Hardened, for people who want a challenging experience And veteran, for masochists who don’t care about pain

I remember playing that mission in Medal of Honor Allied Assault: Spearhead on PC years ago. To see the same opening of the mission in HD now with a different approach is awesome ^^ Even though it's Call of Duty & it's copied, I like the scene.
As good as the game play is I wish the creators would have shown some due diligence about the locations. Merville Battery is a real place but it's not on a cliff top. It's about 1km or 2Kms inland on relatively flat ground. I've been there, it's a remarkable place, as are all the WN sites along the Normandy coast.
Remember when Rambo was airborne in St.-Mere-L'Eglise during D-Day and took out an entire German brigade with his knife and bear hands, and there was shit blowing up everywhere in a Hollywood movie pure action paced style? What? They didn't taught you this in school?
I disagree, MW2019 is really the most visually stunning cod game as its the most polished and refined COD title ever, it also had the longest development out of any cod and the biggest budget
Of all the things I could mention, I'll keep it simple. The first troops to land on D day, were in a Horsa glider and had the element of surprise.. not a shot was fired until they attacked the guards of what has since been called 'Pegasus bridge' in honour of the British Airbourne.

I remember playing that mission in Medal of Honor Allied Assault: Spearhead on PC years ago. To see the same opening of the mission in HD now with a different approach is awesome ^^ Even though it's Call of Duty & it's copied, I like the scene.

As good as the game play is I wish the creators would have shown some due diligence about the locations.
Merville Battery is a real place but it's not on a cliff top.
It's about 1km or 2Kms inland on relatively flat ground.
I've been there, it's a remarkable place, as are all the WN sites along the Normandy coast.

Of all the things I could mention, I'll keep it simple.
The first troops to land on D day, were in a Horsa glider and had the element of surprise.. not a shot was fired until they attacked the guards of what has since been called 'Pegasus bridge' in honour of the British Airbourne.
you know what sucks, this mission does somewhat get the broad strokes of this actual battle a bit right, but over all the real life mission played out entirely differently. it's certainly the least inacurrate one. i'll give that
