tech notes:
at its heart this is still the werkkzeug3/kkrieger engine, except with a new(*) lighting/material system. models and textures are still generated. (though we don't use the sizeoptimized versions of everything, which made our lives a lot easier). we also still use shadow volumes, which makes the demo somewhat cpu-hungry, especially towards the end, since we have to transform a lot of the animated models by hand. but we didn't want to change the whole lighting pipeline in the middle of a project.
(*): it was actually used for some scenes in fr-048: precision, but (as you can see from the fr-number) that was started a lot later than debris, so this demo is atleast historically its first real user)

Everytime i hear the crowd going crazy ... eyewatering moments of my past!
I loved the product but this one is by far the coolest demo I've ever seen. Still gives me goosebumps. Huge props to Farbrausch.
Potentially the best demo I'm ever to see. This one still holds up nicely in 2016.
Especially if you think that all of that comes from a 127k file.

Still one of the finest demos I’ve seen in over 30 years for me.
If you compress it by just 7Kb, then you could fit this entire demo on one side of a 5.25 inch floppy disk.

Very few demos above 1 kb in size are 100% realtime-generated by this logic.
