i always need to run half an hour before i find a deer
Locations, find a area that you find more deer at, like hotspots
Calls, scent (don't use the musk), exc.
There are some spots that aren’t marked that have higher traffic than other spots on the map. I found a spot on Layton’s Lake that has more deer, moose and Roosevelt elk than you could ask for. It’s not even a need zone. There just happens to be a lot. And even better, no matter how many times you shoot or kill an animal they keep coming back right away

I spawned in. Shot a moose in the head, tracked it for an hour, finally found it. As I’m claiming my trophy I hear something sneaking up on me, turn around to a huge bear, shoot it in the head. Tracked it, for an hour, never found it and stumbled across a new bear and couldn’t figure out how to get my gun back out. Dead

When I was first playing the game I thought moose had freaking titanium for bones as I shot one right in the head and she ran off without a scratch lol
TheSylveonGamer haha bro so relatable. A few months ago when I first got it, the first animal I found was a moose. I was using the starting gun and out of nerves shot it in the leg. I spent 3 hours trying to find that moose, and never did haha

I'd say it's waaaaaaaay more effective to purchase a bow, go out and just spam the deer bleak. Animals get attracted to the bleak from around 100-150 meters, when a deer is close enough shoot it the rest of the deer pack will run, but they actually always stay within 100-150 meters therefore you can call them in again, plus the sound of the bow only scares animals within 50- meters, so everything 50+ meters away will not get scared and still react to your calls, in that way you will always have animals coming in. So i'd say it's more effective, plus deer just drop so easily with bow/crossbow. Sorry for my bad grammar.

Perfect explanation of a solid tactic. Don't use in need zones though, or hunting pressure wipes out the zone, better to set up on a path between 2 zones

I spent 10 hours running around the woods trying to find deer when I first got the game. If you run at all, all the animals in the area will run away, try finding an open area to spot animals and hunt them.

Try to find need zones: as soon as you discover one, the time will be set on the map around what time you can hunt certain species.. Chance is with need zones, that as soon as you frighten something off (missed shot, or too much noise) it'll eventually come back later to the same spot.
Best way is to set up hunting structures as well, and let the animals come to YOU instead of you coming to them.. Patience is requited with that.

I can say as a hunter in real life, there is more flesh to penetrate when shooting straight on versus broad side. 1:14 is when he said to shoot straight on btw. I also should point out that there is more bone when shooting broadside. That’s why shooting straight on works better.

I’m watching this at our hunting camp and this morning I dropped a nice doe this night I just got me an 8 point buck
best place I've discovered and my favorite hunting area. Roonache western outpost to Roonache outpost everything in great abundance. especially bear. got my closest to diamond elk here as well a 939 7 by 7.
Get the weapon pack with the .22lr. Like you was doing with the .243, but with 10 roubds per mag and nearly zero recoil. Don't even need to lure them in. With practice, you can average 2-3 geese per magazine. And with the ammo rating of 1, you get full integrity, especially since the .22lr seems to insta-kill them every single time.
I watched some other guy changed my perspective on the game entirely and now hunting is so much easier
So if I crouch I can be twice the distance as you are from the deer at 3:18 and I will still startle them.

If you let the geese land then shoot them off the ground after a while they will glitch and not fly off so you can shoot them with any gun you want. I have reached level 20 and unlocked all but one gun by doing this. It may take a while but once they glitch it take all of 1 min to get more coming in to land. I spent like 8 hours doing this and made up words of 300,000 Dollors. Its easy money. Give it a try.

One time when I was playing I thought I heard something got spooked a shot into the woods and apparently I hit a moose well like 10 in game hours later I found its body way far from where I originally shot it 😂

if you can, id recommend buying weapon pack 3 as a beginner as you get an air gun capable of bagging deer and its nearly silent so you wont scare the rest of them off
I always wait for the geese to land before i shoot at them. Often times they will land close together in clumps and i can kill multiple geese with one shot. I frequently can kill entire flocks of 6-8 geese using this method.
I was guessing the .470 should cost around 100,000, glad to hear it is the case. I recommend setting up 2 or 3 fields for goose hunting and cycling between them when hunting pressure builds up. Rathefeldt straw fields, specifically the Southeastern most one is my favorite spot for geese. When setting up fields I recommend placing the decoys in the middle of the field, but closer to one side, preferably near a hunting stand so you have many different spots to shoot from. The blind is both helpful but unnecessary, you can practically be nigh invisible anywhere but as soon as you ain't it spooks anything that sees you pop out of the blind. What I do is actually prone on top of the blind so I have just a lil bit of elevation and I can aim without spooking, I also recommend waiting to get 3-4 flocks in your fields once you find the good spots because you can just stack tons of geese and easily kill 2-3 in a single shot on the ground and then in air too with just a teensy bit of skill. I've yet to bring 2 shotuns though, seems like a good idea. The .22lr if you have it is PERFECT for taking geese at range with integrity but you still gotta be a good shit cause it's probably the only bullet they can survive a flesh wound to; I am uncertain if the .223 gives full integrity, however you can make insane long distance shots on the geese with it, it is very fun to use. I need to find better rabbit locations, usually I just run up on them an scare em away, but I have yet to see a real horde of bunnies.

There is a perk or a skill, I don't remember, but I think it is called silent step and it reduces the noise you make while going through brush and other vegetation.

Hello, I have a question: When following an animal track, do I have to crouch constantly or just when I am nearby? I know I should not run but what about the normal walk?
I'd walk when the droppings are old or very old. Crouch when fresh or really fresh. Prone or crouch slowly when just now.

When I first got this (absolutely amazing) game I thought the green cone was where I was supposed to go so I walked through the ENTIRE map and through all of my friends maps, and then i quit for a bit, then got back into it 😫

This method seems like it would be a good idea to lower hunting pressure in other parts of the maps, I haven't really seen anything around in a few hours close to the starter map on the lake so far

Be near lakes and open areas. Always get a Dlc with an godd weapon if you are still an beginner. I got the game 3 days ago and I bought the smoking barrels pack for the m1. I killed like 100 deers in 30min

I have a problem of not being able to find my kills once I shoot them. Idk if they don’t die, or if they are just hard to find.
Use your pressure on your map to show where you dropped it. From there, find their blood pool, and follow tracks from there. Depending on how good your shot is, they won't be far from there

I don't have that map. I'm stuck to one map.. and every animal i see is solo. Never seen a heard if anything except boar.. This seems like a good source of info... But apparently not for me.. Also i only have very few rifles handguns etc..

Level 4 bears at the lake in the second zone. Go to the watering hole in the West, there is a small land bridge connecting to forests, hide in the reeds, then wait the bears to rear up or the moose or what every. Always aim for the chest when they're facing towards you or a little off to the side to miss the shoulder blade. then get a. A easy double lung/ heart shot. Easy $800-$1100 everytime.

Don’t run 🏃, you scare everything away , and if you find an open spot sit there for a bit and animals will start walking .
He knows when the animals eat and drink so he goes to the places where they will go to eat or drink

As a new player this helps so much
I usually goto need zones 30 minutes before the approximate feeding time, look for higher ground and distance myself 30-60m from the marker. Guaranteed to get 1-2 kills (Red Deer) with a 7mm magnum and chase the remaining herd off. Traverse high ground if possible.

I’ve found loads of need zones in Layton. I spawn in, check the time and wind, creep to 150m upwind from the zone, binos out, never anything there. Also the noise that sounds like a heavy metal sign swinging on a rusty hinge all the time, aaaaaaaaargh! Will be jacking this game in before long I think. Glad only spent £15 on it. Flinters videos are really good though, learnt a lot but can’t do anything with knowledge as no animals.
Saw some comments about the sound he makes when moving and that you make a lot more. Having a backpack will greatly increase the sound you make. Put on a backpack check the sound meter. Take it off and compare.
With deer herds if you get in cover and call them and shoot them when they are close, reload and recall them immediately and they come back in about 30 seconds to a minute. Rinse repeat til the heard is dead. Then collect rewards
The Canada goose call is the only one in the game that makes sense to me because I hear them every day. I have no clue what other animals sound like.
I just use goose dlc. Go to hirschfelden map, set ground blind and bunch of gooses on ground and start calling them with goose caller. Soon they will land and you can get easily 4 gooses from one herd. Farm that for a while and you have 50k
where i live there is alot of swamp water so if we aim for the heart they sometimes still run a bit and they could go in the water so we allways shoot them in the neck and they allways drop right where they are standing

If you like to hunt moose, go to the need zone at Belmont lake and go right up to the lake and look to your right there is a wide open spot where I always see herds of 5 or 6 moose

Just an FYI sir I'm not sure if you're going to read this or not but I am an avid Hunter to say the least and next shots are quite common and very lethal with a rifle. Spine shots are lethal with a bow but are strongly unrecommended due to the fact that just a little slip and you'll either Miss or you can hit high lungs which can be bad too
Just to let you newer guys know if you get the DLC and have the 20 gauge buckshot works on the geese
