The 6” grey mag draft might be the best bait to use in Michigan, it gets through weeds alright and catches tons of big and small bass, pike, bluegill, etc. I would suggest ALWAYS have a trailer hook because half my bites were on the tail on a trailer and half on the head towards the big hook. I would also suggest buying multiple because after 20 fish it gets beat up. Great bait, in a week in Michigan I caught somewhere from 100-120 fish and around 20 bass over 3 1/2 pounds and a couple 5-6 pounders. Great for big pike around dunked trees around deep banks as well. I throw it on a medium heavy rod and 30 lb braid.
Pittsburgh bass angler here. I caught a 6" bluegill on a 6" magdraft on Lake Anna in Virginia. Somehow it got all 3 barbs of the treble hook in it's mouth.
I'm from smyth co VA. Bluegills are very prevalent around here and I've noticed that they can get quite large, and very aggressive, they'll attack anything, lol!
If you put a nail wait on the side it is leaning, it will straighten it up and can crank it a bit faster
Adding some nail weights will make it swim much better at higher speeds. I need to put more time in on the 8" magdraft, its a little big for where I fish in Canada but I have caught bass on the Deps 250 up here.
I could swing by Callahan auto and get some brake pads.
I'm not going to be able to make it to Sandusky on the 4th. I've already promised my grandparents I'd go fishing with them and really show them how to catch bass. But I watch all your videos, and I greatly appreciate your content. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and experience!
Thanks for sharing
You didn't mention what rod you were using and the Lure size it can handle.
Great information thank you
8 in works great in ny I thought the same thing and started with the 6in but I quickly realized they will eat the 8 just as well if not better and more drawing power
man im in indiana so this is cool to see. so i have a theory about 10 inch worms and how they really are mimicking big shad. if a fish is looking straight down or up it could fit that skinny profile. not so much from a side view. i think its the ultimate way of "finesse" fishing a big swimbait. idk i could be wrong ive just heard most guys say they dont know what a 10 inch worm looks like or they say a snake
Hey Tyler did you find that the Mag draft “blows out” easier than other swimbaits like the Berkley cull shad 8”?
What rod did you use on the 8 " what is the Oz rating on the rod ? Thanks 😊
Tyler, why the second CZcams channel in addition to Bass Fishing HQ?
Would you recommend bumping my line up to 17? I’ve got the 8” cullshad I bring out in the fall and the new hang over but predominantly throw the smaller size 6” mag drafts and cullshads.
( just getting into throwing bigger swimbaits im running a 7’7 mh fast )
Also since you fish that area do you ever go out on Erie looking for those record smallies?
Perhaps make a video? 😉
How long did it take for the magnet to fall out
So after testing all those other swimbaits in that recent video you lean toward the Magdraft? That Megalojohn was the one that caught my eye.
Does it also have the magnet? I fish decent sized swim baits just wondering if it’s worth the price
Not at all…I use a little bit of everything. But that video was about 6 inch baits..not 8in baits
@@chrismeister2554 it comes with a magnet on a screw lock that you can install yourself if you want it. Go back and watch that video if you haven’t seen it. It was maybe a month ago.
I can't get a boat, don't have the money or space, would love to come and meet you so you can tell me what I'm doing wrong and why I can't catch any fish 😢. Won't be able to make it that weekend but hopefully one day I get to meet you
would love to see a vid of this day on the water!
Check out the latest BassFishingHQ video....that was my day on the water
@@TylerBergerFishing i’m an idiot!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I try to throw the 8 inch. I don’t mind throwing big baits, but I have two 8 inch magdrafts and neither one runs good. They lay over very easily
The 7 inch dangerous swim bait swims really good
@@craigholland2274- the daingerous swimmer is a 6 inch, wish he’d made an 8 inch model
@@BrockNessMonster1991
They make a 6 and a 7
@@craigholland2274 - oh interesting, I did not know that.. thanks 👍🏻
AWESOME! 👍
