    I have a single arb compressor with no tank.. its in my engine compartment.. i love it! Its soley for airing up or down..
    Sooooo many people have nay sayed and guaranteed that it was useless..and that it wouldn't be able to fill any tire.. let alone 4.
    It has never failed yet.. however i am thinking on getting the dual portable one like you've got. To have for air tools.
    Ive talked to ARB and theyve said they guarantee that it will work well repeatedly for my air tools. Once i get it.. we shall see. ;)

    Thanks for the video. I think it would be easier to list the things that are legal in California. The list would be much much shorter. Beautiful state, but everything else is garbage.

    Don't need a boost of air. All you need is to get the bead pressed against the rim a little bit and the air will slowly push the bead in place.

    Great vid! Is it possible to convert a portable compressor to an on board one?

  • @normanchodrick2630
    @normanchodrick2630 Před 2 lety +2

    If you don't mind my chiming in a bit more, both of these 'bead loss' incidents were winter and, if that is the more common case, I believe I would air up maybe 7 lbs. or plus more in winter as a general rule or use nitrogen which is more stable in cold weather.

    • @normanchodrick2630
      @normanchodrick2630 Před 2 lety

      It sure would add up to a stiffer ride especially over frozen ground but that would likely be a whole lot better than a bead loss in winter in the middle of wherever.

    What's the point of the tank? Is the compressor less effective without it?

    • @4x2WagonFamily
      @4x2WagonFamily  Před 2 lety +1

      The tank gives you an extra high pressure shot of air to help set the tire bead on the wheel. I’m not sure if the compressor alone can reseat the tire back on the wheel if you lose the bead???

    • @tire26
      @tire26 Před rokem +2

      It's easier with a tank but if you remove a tire and hold the tire against the lip one should be able to do it without one.

    Portable ? Maybe for contractors or Professionals that have a large truck to store it in.

    I can’t wrap my head around how people who go out in the middle of nowhere actually wheeling and air down, don’t have beadlocks on

    • @gotmullets
      @gotmullets Před rokem

      I don't run beadlocks on my 4runner.. have had absolutely 💯 nooo issues... I just can't air down as low as those who have beadlocks. Which is ok.. because I have had no problems.. I often run with people who have jeeps and who have beadlocks.. they have taught and shown me a lot.. there are also many others who don't have beadlocks.
      However, i will probably get a setup with them down the road at some point.

      @@Hmoob101 Thats just a no name rebranded piece of junk sold under at leased 12 other brands on it, This ARB Portable Is actually the Best and it was first made for the Military, And you can buy parts for this Compressor in over 200 Countries across the Globe, With Kings Thumper Max it is a disposable compressor Once it dies it goes in the Trash because they won't repair it and they don't sell parts for the Kings models.

      @@Hmoob101 Seems like the like a lot of people resent them because of there price or those who like to cut corners, I doubt that it would break if the parts was replaced, Sounds like you are trying to justify not wanting to own the best, I own the Single portable model and the Twin Portable model and I would not buy anything else, I bought one of the cheaper ones and within a week it broke and it took me over 6 weeks to get it sorted but while I was waiting I bought the first ARB so I could get on with my Job, Buy a $60,000
      Truck with 3 or $400 dollar tyres on each corner and then skimp on the Compressor doesn't make sense.
