I think the problematical bit of it is because her default design has the age of 16 attached to it (she looks 16 in that one and is widely recognized, pertaining to that particular design, as having the concept age of 16.) Because this default design is the commerical and universal Miku trademark, some people think it's weird to make sexual artwork, imagery, videos, etc. with it. (I'm also personally one of these people, but bias aside I think it's much less black-and-white than that.) It is true that she has no offically fixed age and "Hatsune Miku" truly is marketed as a voice above all to be synthesized by buyers, plus, her voice itself has no age, which is why making NSFW songs alone with her is considered ethical. My personal reason for thinking it's strange is because I personally see Miku as a little bit more multifaceted (less of just a voice and more as a fictitious character with a personality, voice, and design open to the public.) If Miku was just a voice bank, she would have much less popularity due to lack of material to be expanded on through concerts, fan artwork, games, figures and more. That aside, I can see where both sides come from and meet in the middle with both opinions.

Imo, Vocaloids being put into suggestive situations (no matter the age) only truly becomes problematic when the voice provider is a real child, like Kaai Yuki for example. I think the problematical bit of it is because her default design has the age of 16 attached to it (she looks 16 in that one and is widely recognized, pertaining to that particular design, as having the concept age of 16.) Because this default design is the commerical and universal Miku trademark, some people think it's weird to make sexual artwork, imagery, videos, etc. with it. (I'm also personally one of these people, but bias aside I think it's much less black-and-white than that.) It is true that she has no offically fixed age and "Hatsune Miku" truly is marketed as a voice above all to be synthesized by buyers, plus, her voice itself has no age, which is why making NSFW songs alone with her is considered ethical.
My personal reason for thinking it's strange is because I personally see Miku as a little bit more multifaceted (less of just a voice and more as a fictitious character with a personality, voice, and design open to the public.) If Miku was just a voice bank, she would have much less popularity due to lack of material to be expanded on through concerts, fan artwork, games, figures and more. That aside, I can see where both sides come from and meet in the middle with both opinions.
