This song reminded me of this boy I used to have a HUGE crush on when I was young. He would act like the feelings mutual until one day, I confessed and he told me that it wasnt the same on his end. So I told him then to give me space and leave me alone for a while but no, he enjoyed my attention so much and he would still come along, call me and basically toyed with my bruised heart. It took me a long while to finally learn that I am valuable enough to say no to someone so emotionally abusive to me. I finally mustered all my courage one day and called him and told him to " stay treating my heart like his playground. " I cried loads when I hung up the phone but boy, I learnt that day, that I am enough. I need to love myself first and I need to only give my heart to someone who values it as much.
It really took a heart ache like this to recognise when a good man like my husband, who finally came along. I thank that jerk for preparing my heart for my husband.
