All the tarot decks in this video are some of the best affordable tarot decks out there & they are low key hidden gems. The Hanson-Roberts deck is the second tarot deck I ever bought, somewhere in the late 80s/early 90s. I still have it!

I bought 2 of these decks in the late 1990's, and I got the Tarot To Go boxed deck and book set with the Pocket size Hanson-Roberts in the early 2000's. Back then, it was the most fairy tale and non-threatening deck out there.
I have a teeny,travel verion,but,the cards are really thin.
Great decks. I love your explanation of the Phantasma Tarot, it reminds me of Shadowscapes Tarot. It’s now on my wish list. 😊💞

You are tempting me with the Tarot Nefertari! Thank you for showcasing this deck, as I was trying to remenber all the ancient Egyptian-themed decks lately. Not so much because of the shiny-shiny, but because I like the art and the way it is easy to read as an RWS.

Darn, that new box and book for the Kitty Kahane Tarot (one of my favorites) make me want the new version! I was fortunate to be able to get ahold of one of the previous English editions of the Kitty Kahane tarot, and but is just in a tuck box.

Oh so cool for the kitty kahane! That might have been the indie version that was released before it was picked up mass market?i think it was in a tuck box because I was looking at it before finding my German version. This was such a great video! I had no idea the Kitty Kahane was out in a mass market English edition so….temptation 👀. Also loved your take on the Zombie Tarot…I’ve never been attracted to the deck because I have a hard time with that much gore and body horror even when it’s tongue in cheek…that said, the way you stepped through some of the cards really made me see the genius in them!! It will still probably never be a deck for me but it was fun learning why it gets so many raves. 😊

I really appreciated this video, thank you! The Traditional Manga is next on my list. One deck I haven't seen much at all is the Tarot of the Golden Wheel. It is very much RWS but more relaxed and accessible, I feel. The colours are vibrant; a great reader. I have the Neo and agree with you is is highly underrated. The artwork and the colour palette are unique; very direct reader.
You’re so right the tarot of the golden wheel is underrated ! I don’t see it a lot & I personally don’t own it but I don’t see it shown very often. It’s beautiful though I love the colors ! So glad you’re enjoying the Neo tarot as well. Thank you for watching !
I do so love the tarot of the sweet twilight!! She kept playing tag with me for a couple years. I’d see her, I’d be drawn in, I’d decide she wasn’t really my style, forget and then see her again, lather, rinse, repeat. I finally got her earlier this year and I love her, she’s just so dreamy and warm for me
I love when that happens ! Some decks take their time coming to us but they always end up arriving at the perfect timing. So happy you’re enjoying it, I find it very gentle as well.

I am so happy to see Sweet Twilight, which was my favourite purchase of 2020, and Nefertari, which is my favourite this year, in the midst of all the fancy indie decks I got during those two years. Although I do plan to get an "expensive Egyptian deck" as soon as it restocks on etsy😁 Thar Phantasma looks more interesting than I've thought. Not my usual colour scheme but I do love a good worldbuilding deck

Marine, and then in turn you made me buy the Tarot of the Sweet Twilight when you showed it in your video! At first, I was intimidated by the alien-looking beings in the cards. But the more I look at it, the more I understand why it’s called sweet. The feeling it gives off is actually quite comforting and romantic.

Thank you for mentioning the Zombie Tarot !!!! I adore mine. It's perfect. The only thing I dislike is their choice of stock. It BEGS to be edged but the paper is very unforgiving and the ink tends to bleed through... Btw, you were also successful in enabling me to get the Phantasma Tarot 😊 One deck I always miss being mentioned and that is one of my most profound talkers is the Charles Dickens Tarot. Mine got so used I'm ordering a second copy.

I really love my Fournier decks (I have 3). At first I thought the card stock was a bit thin, but the size is perfect (very portable) especially to use as clarifiers because they're smaller. I only wish there were better guidebooks so the artist can explain their artistic choices because they aren't always intuitive.
Yes I agree for the guidebooks! The artwork is often very different to traditional meanings so it would be nice to get more views into artists choices and inspirations. Thank you for watching !

This is absolutely fantastic! You will be responsible for me breaking my resolve that I have enough decks. I can’t afford Indie decks because of postage costs to Australia. I adore Sweet Twilight and use it a lot. It is the only deck I bought a second copy of. Off to hit buy on a couple of decks 🤣

I think it depends on your preferences on themes or also if you prefer oracle VS tarot etc. I really like lo scarabeo because I appreciate the fact they are making an effort at giving guidebooks with several languages to make it accessible to more people across the world, but US games has been publishing decks that used to be indie into mass market now and I also really appreciate that because it can make decks more affordable for people to get 😊

which is best as a first deck for a beginner, spiritsong or phantasma deck?
My first thought would be the one that calls to you the most because in my experience I have found it easier to learn with decks I really resonate with rather than what is supposed to be "easier to learn with" if that makes sense. However between the two I think the phantasma might be closer to a more traditional RWS deck which is the basis for a lot of tarot teaching out there like books and podcasts etc and it has more symbolism on the cards so it might be a bit easier than the spiritsong but again I think your intuition can't get you wrong :)

I do not yet own a Tarot deck. I have never worked with Tarot before, but I would very much like to get one. I feel very much drawn to the Zombie Tarot. I've been considering it for awhile now.. Do you feel this would be a good deck for a beginner to learn with?
I had never seen the Phantasma deck before. That one appeals to me as well, in a different way than the Zombie Tarot.
Hi! This is so exciting that you are about to get your first deck, I am very happy for you 😊yes I think the zombie tarot could be a beginner deck for sure especially if you are drawn to it. You would have to remember one of the suits has been renamed but otherwise it is close to a traditional rider waite smith deck which is what most tarot books/ courses/ podcasts would be based on. my main advice for choosing your first deck is always to go with your gut because I believe we are always drawn to a specific deck for a reason so our intuition leads us well & if there is a guidebook included ( there is one in the zombie tarot) then it’s even better so you don’t have to get other ressources to get started. My first deck was one that wouldn’t necessary be considered “beginner friendly” but I loved it at first sight so it was perfect for me. I hope you find the perfect one for you and mostly that you will have lots of good times with it 😊

J'adore le tarot of the sweet twilight. Je vais le mettre sur ma wishlist (très restreinte, cette profusion de tarots devient problèmatique).
J'ai vu le tarot noir quand je suis passée en France. J'ai été faire un tour à la Fnac (malheureusement... je me tiens normalement à l'écart du rayon ésotérique). Je l'ai trouvé magnifique, intriguant et tellement tentant. Il m'interesse beaucoup. Pour l'instant, j'attends. Trop de "tout" devient un stress... J'ai été un peu horrifiée par cette profusion de tarots et surtout d'oracles qui semblent aussi nombreux que peu inspirés.
Oui c'est vrai que ça peut vite devenir étouffant quand on voit le nombre de jeux qui sortent, il faut bien choisir ce qui nous parle & puis faire une croix sur le reste. Après je me dis que ça permets à plus de monde de trouver ce qu'ils aiment aussi :)
