You get many different colors by adding different types of salts
Magnesium on it's own is extremely flammable. They could also use Aluminum powder.

I love this concept. I recommend trying HVAC duct mastic instead of the plaster. It will be easier to apply and is already mixed with fibers. It will be a little more pliable than the plastic and be stronger (like a much stiffer version of the silicone mold). The only downside is you will need to apply heat with a gun or blow dryer unless you want to wait a really long time to fully dry. The best way to use it may be to use many thin layers to build up to a thicker. If you apply heat while doing that you should be able to get the finished product faster than the plaster too.

This was actually very interesting, i wasnt expecting the fancy plaster shell was just to keep the shape of the silicon.

you might have some trouble pulling a clean cast from this, It would help to add some keys (sillicone dimples and shapes) to the top of your silicone mold, then do the fiberglass coating. also, when cutting the silicone open you should bake a small pattern in order to ensure it falls at the right place every time.
The pins ur using are for leather normal pins arnt that long but loved seeing another use for leather pins this was awesome to watch
For another video, can you try making an extreme version of a solar oven. We are building some in class, so I thought it would be cool to see an extreme version of it.
