I am a 20 year old and I went with my mom, and I’ve seen the movie, and my mom hasn’t, and we both enjoyed it so much! Though the moment she laughed the most was when I came back at intermission with a “I’m a cool mom” shirt for her.

iMovie is an app that creates mock trailers. Nothing made in that app resembles any sort of movie.

iMovie is generally considered to be a crappy app/program that makes fake movie trailers. They specified that it's an iMovie to communicate that it's a homemade video. Videos made on iMovie have a specific (ammeteur) style. We don't call all videos iMovies; just the ones that are made using that program. It's not because we are brainwashed by the branding, as an iMovie is very different from a movie. She did make a video, but specifying that it's an iMovie just helps explain how she made the video and describes what kind of video it is.
