Tutorial: Sometimes doing nothing is the right thing to do.
The Answer: deletes the bird
You can wait for the timer thing to be gone. Just do nothing. This game will test your patience so be careful about doing something.
Always go to settings and check to see if there's streamer mode. I was watching y'all compliment the music and went, "Oh these poor gaming channel newborns... every other streamer would be like, "omg talk over the song, mute this, quick!" As a rule, if the song has lyrics, be careful or the copyright demon will strike.
As you can imagine, the story to these types of games get cut short the more characters you lose. So if you want to intentionally kill off characters go a head. But you might be confused story wise. And get much less play time.
And this game is much harder than Detroit.
Also the totems are just to give you hints. So you have a better idea of what to do or what not to do.
The totems give hints of the possibilities to come. You can watch them again when you go to the totem menu ;)
Don't try to make any decisions that you think viewers would like. We love that you're just yourselves, that's why we are here!
But I hope you play the rest of the games by the developers of this! watching you guys play these type of games is so much fun, love the chaos and arguments lol
As a recommendation, just play it how you would alone at home. Dont let the audience influence your decisions. This is your story, not theirs.

The butterflies flying out the corner always mean that the decision has changed something about the future, not that it's a good thing !
Just a spoiler free FYI, the totems aren't deciders of your fate. So picking one up won't kill you. They just give a heads up to you for future events so you may or may not avoid them.
This! And look at them closely for hints regarding certain decision...
Also, you can rewatch them in your options
These guys are hilariously dumb. It's not even gameplay related. Just empty in the head.
The Answer getting upset over hitting the bird with the snowball literally 0.25 seconds after the game says that doing nothing is a valid strat, is just *chefs kiss* with you guys 🤣🤣

Each instance of animal contact raises or lowers an invisible "animal trust" meter. One accident is fine, but too many could lead to an unavoidable death of a character later on.
Edit/Correction: Each instance leads to specific consequences, as detailed by the individual Butterfly Effect section related to each attackable animal, but none are apparently specifically unavoidably lethal.

You guys have missed an important and crucial tutorial tip 46:25 that sometimes doing nothing is the right thing to do.
If they dont get everyone killed in this playthrough it'd be a miracle 😂

@@LinkOfLegendOfZelda yea sad a couple characters are literally one non obvious click away from getting killed with most u need to mess up multiple times in a row but there are 2 that just are like u chose between to possible safe options and u just die if u pick the wrong one kinda lame i only got matt killed in my first playtrough and i was mad as hell it felt bullshit

the other one is ashley i think where u get a choice to run or hide and by that point u already know that they cant see if u stand still so it was an easy choice for me but ive seen so many people in playtroughs pick run and just die immediately

Top tip without plot spoilers: characters in this game have relationship meters with each other. A good or bad relationship can have different consequences later down the line!
Take that info and do with it what you will. Have fun playing!
As a recommendation, you don't necessarily have to choose a decision just because you think it suits the character you're playing, you mold the characters, you can turn them into something of your own. You can make the unlikeable likeable and viceversa, do whatever the hell u feel like doing if you think it's the right thing to do or say.
Not to mention that sometimes, making the characters have some personal growth so to speak, is what gives them a chance of surviving
Upon seeing Oak instinctively drop the controller after the wolverine jump scare, I frantically started searching my memory trying to remember if there were any jump scares immediately followed by QTEs coming up 😂

Remember!!! Sometimes doing nothing is a valid choice! And search your surroundings constantly don't think you need to rush through a scene its very important to try and find as many clues as you can

If y'all end up liking this game, the creators also have a series of shorter games in this style called the Dark Pictures Anthology. So far season one is complete, with four games: Man of Medan, Little Hope, House of Ashes, and Devil in Me, with the season two premier game, Directive 8020 hopefully coming out later this year. They also have another stand alone game like this called The Quarry. It has David Arquette in it! You guys would love them all, please give them a shot!

@@targor9649 Oh no doubt Until Dawn is definitely the best one. But I don't think the rest are that bad. I've played them all multiple times and I never got the hate people give them, but everyone has different tastes. For what they are, I think they're a lot of fun. But I get after something like Until Dawn, they can be a bit of a let down. But I still liked them better than the Quarry as a whole. It disappointed both me and my husband on a few things, but all in all still a fun time and I think perfect for these guys
Mostly Dark Picture Anthology's "Butterfly effects" are bad. And for The Quarry, their choices are more simple.
But for the story, Little Hope and Man of Medan story idea is not that bad, it has a mystery vibe. Sadly their executed on gameplay are poor.
Until Dawn also have a lack, the story is really slow in the beginning. I got a little bored during my 1st watch to be honest.
Devil in me had a lot of potential. I wish they worked harder on that one
The therapist sessions mark the end of each chapter, the recap is because they expected you to have not played recently

Mike’s actually the best character tbh. I know he has a bad start with that prank.
My favorite is Chris, he cares about all of his friends so much and he didn’t take part in the prank.

@@gazevedo1025 he starts off as a goofy nerd, but throughout the game it shows that he can be serious when need be. When he and ash are looking for Sam, ashley says multiple times that they should just leave, but Chris encourages Ashley to keep looking for Sam, worrying about her safety. He tries to keep a calm head and tries to convince Ashley and himself that there is no ghosts (because there’s not) Chris is willing to sacrifice his own life for Ashley. Then he literally is the only one to defend Josh saying he’s sick and is the only one willing go after Josh when Mike leaves him in the shed. His character is literally so in-depth but no one ever sees it😭😭😭
She was going to cheat. The prank was deserved but not the aftemath at all

Fun Fact: Depending on your choices in the therapist office, the chapter titles can be different. For example you guys got "#1. Friendship." When I played the chapter was called "#1. Momento Mori" Pretty cool details. :)
Hey guys, really happy you are doing this game it's so good. 3 quick spoiler free tips:
1. Look around everywhere for clues and totems, they are easy to miss.
2. The game saves a detailed list of your clues, totems and choices and it is good to review these often. It helps to foresee the consequences of your actions.
3. The game hints at this but it is not very obvious: the characters all have 3 descriptors attached to them. You get the best results if you make the choices that the CHARACTER would make, not what you would make.

As a friendly reminder, finding the totems doesn’t mean what you see is going to happen! They’re just showing a future that CAN happen, depending on your choices. The negative ones can even be helpful. Ie: you see a future where someone dies in a fire? Maybe be careful about making decisions that would result in a fire
I just know this is going to be disastrous just based on how they killed the bird lmao. But that's what makes it a fun watch
spoiler free tips: EXPLORING IS IMPORTANT. make sure to frequently check each characters stats especially when it comes to their relationships. sometimes doing nothing is the best option (but not always!). the totems tell you possible outcomes of what CAN happen.
Totems, totems, totems. As first time players, totems will be the key to getting everyone out alive. Some choices may seem obviously good or bad, but it may result in the opposite if you pay attention to the totem hints. While many totems can be found on the main path, some require you to look around a bit. I suggest you guys review your totems before each play session.
Also, collecting the totems helps solve the mystery of Until Dawn. When you press R1, in the totem section you can press triangle to play a video. Each totem you collect adds a new segment to the video.
About to watch! I hope y'all don't take us to heart too much, people are very opinionated. As long as you're having fun we'll have fun. Some people with decades of gaming experience can sort of tell what the game WANTS you to do, so some viewers might get annoyed you're not following the "cue", but that's exactly what makes it more fun to watch for me. We get a real reaction to choices, instead of gamers who have to actively try to be honest with their choices instead of following the narrative by reflex.

Some useful tips:
- explore everything to get the clues and check them in the menu hitting R1, without the clues you won’t be able to understand the complete story behind the game
- sometimes you don’t have to choose, do nothing can be better
- the totems are useful and you can check them again in the menu, they can help you to avoid some deaths or dangers and they can also guide you other times
- if the choices are not timed take your time to think which is the best option

Im legitimately not a Horror movie/Horror game fan personally but i legitimately love Until Dawn and i want Supermanssive Games to continue to make more of these.
A playable Horror film is such a neat concept and i really like how this Game and its Spiritual Successor the Quarry have made a spark in the Horror game industry and the ability to play it blindly the first time and then playing it again knowing the twists to come makes it very interesting in its replay value

Picking up totems doesn't alter fate, it just gives you a glimpse into what may happen, as they say "Knowledge is power!"
That said, seeing a potential future could lead one down the path to fulfilling it, so... maybe ignorance can be bliss.
You should try playing Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls

I really hope you guys consider doing the other Supermassive horrors as well (The Dark Pictures Anthology games and The Quarry) 😁. They're all the same style/mechanics as this one, and all pretty short. Even the ones which aren't as good, are still a lot of fun to play in a group!
Spoiler free hints, the timing of the choices are gonna get faster and faster and the ‘don’t move’ button is gonna get a way longer timing so focus on not missing those! Also, don’t messe with the nature hahaha
Pro tip for you guys. Make sure that you take the time to explore in this game to find clues. Certain clues that you find (or don't find) actually can change the ending of the game. :)

The white butterflies just means you changed the narrative of the story. Also, you can click R1 to look at your butterfly effects and clues to help you solve mysteries. Make you sure you really look around wherever you go to get more clues. Can't wait for part 2!
BTW you can rewatch totems in the totem menu. And also there's the "events of the past" thingy which you can play by pressing triangle and the more of the movie unlocks as you collect totems.
Oh and butterfly effects always flash white regardless if good or bad, that has nothing to do with the totems.
So until dawn is interesting.
I remember reading somewhere that the game reads your movements. So like, if u jump cuz something scares u then it'll register that whatever happened scared u.
The photos you pic with the shrink guy will appear more in the game too.
Example: picked that you're afraid of cockroaches = game puts in cockroaches 😅
This game can be very stress inducing, especially in the later sections, have fun and good luck, gents. I have faith in you guys!

It always cracks me up and appalls me when people drop Hannah rather than letting go - perhaps it's because I'm a twin myself so the idea of just dropping your twin to save yourself is unfathomable. Funny, though, seeing people realize that it didn't matter and Beth also drops no matter what you do.
This is one of the best games out there.
