Hi. New subscriber and fellow Texan. First, thank you for your service to our county. We have been full timing in a Class A for 3 years and are looking to downsize to a van. Our plan is to travel in that for 6-7 months a year and go overseas for the rest. We were tent campers before we bought our rig and are excited to get back to something more like that. I'd like to hear your thought process about what you take, how you store it and how you plan meals. What is your favorite TX state park? Ours is Palo Duro Canyon. If you want to venture farther (in the winter or spring) the AZ state parks are very nice.

thank you again guys. question on how the ice maker gets power? is there enough power in the batteries to leave the inverter on for the ice maker all the time, or do you just need it to be on an hour or two to make enough ice per day?

Hey guys, new subscriber here. My wife and I have been having some of the same discussions now that our daughters are older. How has it been cost wise? Also, how is the vehicle holding up? I've been hearing horror stories about quality issues with Thor and RVs in general.
Thanks for subbin!!!! Cost wise we would say the only thing beyond the purchase cost is all the stuff and gear. We belong to a FB owners group and hear all the horror stories also but so far have had very little issues. I think the quality issues are with all manufactures and not just limited to Thor. Just pack your patience and be ready to fix things yourself. We have no regrets!!!
@JustUsVanlife Thanks for the response. I also think if you use the RV only on weekends and for short trips, then hopefully less issues. It seems like other CZcamsrs with major RV issues live full time in their rig. This could be a big factor.
