The Most Beautiful Hiking Trail in the Smoky Mountains • Alum Cave Trail

The Alum Cave Trail is a hiking trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Sevier County, Tennessee. We've been to the Gatlinburg area many times, but had never tried this trail. It was a very pleasant surprise, with gorgeous streams, mini-waterfalls and photogenic rapids. It would be difficult to find a more beautiful trail in the Smokies. Plus, it's an easy hike and you'll see the very cool Alum Cave.

Not sure how I overlooked this trail on previous Gatlinburg trips, either, but thanks to you, we did it the day after Thanksgiving and it is a beautiful hike early in the morning. My 3.5 and 6-year old boys did well on it even with a little ice on the trail. I've started planning our hikes using the AllTrails app recently. Not sure how I missed this trail, or that app all this time. LOL. Thank you!
