  • After the surrealism of René Magritte, the photographic paintings of Jack Vettriano and the intimacy of the unique collection of self-portraits of the Galleria degli Uffizi, STEFANO RICCI has decided to dedicate its fourth artistic catalogue to René Gruau, the genius of fashion design and advertising, universally recognized for his extraordinary ability to illustrate the elegance of the art de vivre.
During his highly creative period, marked by important collaborations with great tailors who have transformed taste and contributed to writing the history of the Twentieth century costume, Gruau was a point of reference for the design and graphic communication of apparel. Particularly significant was the synergy developed with Dormeuil, a leader in the market of luxury fabrics, for which the artist drew some real "pictures of fashion ", some of which are proposed in this exclusive catalogue.
"We are honored to tie our name to that of a Master such as René Gruau," says Filippo Ricci, Creative Director of STEFANO RICCI . "His portraits of the high society of the Fifties and Sixties, up to the fabulous Eighties, are an archive of tasteful and clever irony that deserve to be remembered. For this reason, we have decided to revive the relevance of being as an aesthetic element of a production of the highest Italian quality."
