It’s slightly relieving to see someone so good at this game struggle with After Alterna; the second part triggers war flashbacks for me

For me it was the octoling part that gave me war flashbacks

Funny thing about After Alterna, especially that first section, is that there isn’t any single piece that is particularly difficult taken by itself. It’s when you put it all together and have to do it all in one shot with no mistakes, that’s when it gets hard.
The rail part...like the level using the Tri-stringer... Killed me. Lol

Nah. Sectoin 4 was THE worst, with section 1 coming at a close 2nd. Section 3 was the easiest.

The hardest part for me was to get to the first checkpoint. I failed like 10 times
I actually had a mini panic attack while trying to beat this level… I almost cried when I beat it lol
For me since Splatoon 1, it's been tradition to play through each game's hero mode + expansion with no upgrades to give myself a harder challenge (for all my blind Splatoon playthroughs) before I play online.
I completely underestimated After Alterna, and I played that too with no upgrades. It took almost a day of suffering and a sleep mode staying on the Octoling fight part, but that's how I completed the game.
Though I will say fighting Big Man without upgrades is a bit awkward from how long it takes to find him.
Edit: I'm very sure that if I ran with upgrades for this one, I would have had a way easier time, but by then I was already neck deep into the level and couldn't bring myself to start all over to upgrade.
I'm still surprised people thought the Octoling section was really hard. I got it first try too.

I died twice before I realised i could just use the specials and got it the third try
Brilliant! I had to laugh every time you yelled, because it made me nervous too. Especially those targets! Totally loved it.
rad. i managed to get through the platforming sections without dying once but the octolings are what gave me the most trouble since i died twice there. DUDE dying the most in the platforming but clearing the octolings with ease and not dying made me go red in the face giggling.

I actually got stuck on the first level with the spinning wiper because up to that point, I still didn’t know how that you could stay in place while charging the Squid Surge! I thought you had to keep moving upward for some reason while charging, so I made it super difficult on myself for no reason.😂
The second stage was the hardest for me. I just suck at moving targets, I suppose. LOL
I didn’t really have problems with the last one and failed only once.

Was doing so well getting through the after alterna stages in only 1 to 2 tries but spent a couple lifetimes trying to beat the octoling stage💀💀

Everyone keeps saying in these comments that this level was impossible, but they must have not gone through inner agent 3. That shit took me months to complete, while after alter only took like 8 tries. Honestly it was just as hard as the wave breaker level.
I went through the troubles of Agent 3 but I'd admittedly rather do Agent 3 again then try to complete this level as I can't even get past the first stage
i remember beating inner agent 3 after being told explicitly not to do it in one sitting, and after 40 minutes & defeating them i was SHAKING 😭
it took less time than after alterna, but the emotional turmoil afterwards was a lot stronger LMAO
I still haven't beaten IA3 lol. After Alterna was tough but manageable
I beat inner agent 3 and this shit was still hell
Why did everyone have trouble with the wave breaker level I beat it first try and thought it was easy 😭
I hate to admit the final section took me almost an hour to beat 💀. All the other parts I one shotted except the first one. Died twice there. 🤷♂️
After Alterna had me raging hard. The first part is the hardest
honestly, it isn't really that bad, especially after the first 2 parts, took me about 10 attempts
The hardest one was either the ink box level because it was tedious or the ink rail
My brother in christ the last section is the hardest

The last part was actually nerfed to HELL, so that more people could beat it. I struggled so much with the un-nerfed version 😭

i mean, inner agent 3? yea, alterna, i kind of winged it in 30 minutes. the balloon part made me struggle for like 8 tries
The first time I attempted it it took me 4 hours to complete. Dude is truly master at this game

The hardest level for me is the one where you gotta avoid flooders and collect 60 power eggs.
the hardest for me was the "Bet you mist me!" octoling one (with that weird weapon that turns every octo into a dualies) and the octoballer-stamp one (with nothing)

I like after alterna as everyone seems to struggle on different parts.
I hated the first part, but the 2nd and 3rd took be a couple attempts each and by the time I got to the 4th, I was so tired of the level I can't remember how long I took, although it was less than the first stage by far.
I still haven’t been able to beat the last part. And everything else is muscle memory now given how many times I died getting to the end
after losing to this for hours im ready to play cruel sisyphean eight shaped floor and one way ride through target town to relax
how am i just now learning about to me and nice???? i never played splatoon 1 💔 that sounds so great. to me has such chuckle brothers vibes. and NICE is so much more relatable than booyah lmao

I somehow missed a single kettle in the final area and didn't know about After Alterna till yesterday... glad Dude didn't first try the first two sectors... Inner Agent 3 from Sploon 2 feels ezpz compared to this
The octoling section is the only part that made sense to me. That's the primary gameplay of splatoon so I had a ton of practice on that. But this rail stuff? The worst
How to stump a pro Splatoon player: puzzle
Me who hasn’t beaten this after 4 hours, and has died probably one hundred times to the octolings
I struggled soo much with the last part, it took me 30 minutes to finish
First time I played this, I barely missed the rail at 6:27 despite hitting every single target
I found the rail one the hardest. I play stick and accuracy is my weakness. Took like 10 good tries: last one was actually pretty easy for me.
He took 14 minutes while I took 4 hours. I’m trying to let this sink in

He did it with no issues at all, my question is can he do the hidden kettle with no upgraded gear / weapons.
I'm pretty sure he upgraded everything except for the last fire rate level of the Heroshot
I think the only hard part of this level was the first section. It was so annoying having to go back at the start if you died.
I challenged myself to were, if I died three times, and had to restart, I could not start from a checkpoint. This was hell 😭
I did After Alterna and all the levels with every weapon, man did I have a rough time on this level
Playing the grind rail section with stick controls was painful for me, I thought I wasn't gonna make it

Did they nerf the AI in the last part? I did this when it first came out and the AI was crazy hard might have to replay the stage again and see.
It's rough if they all come at you at once, but it's easy enough to prevent that from happening by playing more defensively. It's actually kinda surprising how non-aggressive the AI is, and by keeping your distance you can exploit that by picking them off one at a time
@@squiddler7731 That is good to know, the part that was hardest for me is when they all use specials. I used small fry to distract them when I needed to stop them all coming up at once.
Feeling real smug rn because I best the on rails balloon shooting part on my first try
Just goes to show that everyone has different skills in this game, since I struggled quite a lot with the last part. Some people are better at platforming, some at fighting

For me the rails one was the easiest and the octoling was the hardest, but I guess different people have different strengths

if any part of a splatoon single-player is hard, it’s easy when replaying. i only die 2-3 times average when i’m playing it now, and in splatoon 2 i beat inner agent 3 a total of 10 times including the first and it usually takes like 5-20 deaths(it’s still a lot, but better than the 300+ deaths it took the first time)
I can’t remember if I nearly tore my hair out at the rails or the Octolings 😅 Let’s just say both ‘cause I took over an hour to complete this, maybe two

I hated this level so much! The hardest sections were 1 and 4!
Section 1 because my depth perception kept messing with me, and section 4 because you know why.

The last section was easy. It was my only no-death section, and I don't play PvP much.
now do it without upgrades (2nd area is hell)
