I know my non-Californian friends who live in the Rockies will disagree, but there is NOTHING as beautiful as the Sierra. So happy I live in easy striking distance. The hike from Onion Valley to the myriad of lakes in that region is one of my all time faves and that is a rough climb at that kind of elevation. But I never carry a 30 lb pack, you guys are killing it
