"Can you REALLY fly a B747 in Pyjamas?" I suppose that depends on whether you can find a pair of pyjamas to fit a B747.
Hehehehee, okay fair enough, that was funny. Thanks for the giggle :)
I'm sorry but this joke is WAY underrated and deserves more likes
Dudeee, underated, if its original comment.
I'll ask my mum to sew a pyjama for a B747 right now...
@mentourpilot - Wanted to chime in right quick and thank you for making this video⊠I am fairly loyal to the individuals I subscribe too and I found Kelsey a long time ago.. never searched for any other pilots as I never felt the need too⊠and as silly as it sounds, this video with you two sincerely makes me feel like I am not betraying(cheating on.. đ€Ș )Kelseyâs channel đ
Iâm a simple man. I see Kelsey. I see Petter. I click!
And we appreciate that!
YES !!
@@MentourPilot to be 100% perfect the only one missing is Captain Joe. It's about time to see my 3 favourite CZcams pilots together.
Joaquim Gonçalves Ah, I see. You speak of the Holy Trinity
Agreed
A long time ago,the man who taught me trucking quit and started driving charter buses, but it wasnât long before he got back in a truck. I asked him what happened and he said,âI got tierd of my freight bitching at me,trying to barrow money,or wander off during stops.â He was a lot happier hauling inanimate cargo.
That's really funny! Animate vs. inanimate cargo.
I think it was Kelsey who remarked in one of his videos, "Cargo seldom complains."
@@robertabarnhart6240 But when a Li-battery goes full Karen - oh boyâŠ.
You fly cargo, it's just self loading, and it talks back.
Hahaha! True that
Robert Campbell HAHAHA
It's hard to argue with his assessment
Iâm not sure the flight attendants would agree it is self loading!
Well i tought that's what they meant when talking about "life cargo " đđ
One of the good things about the lockdown is the awesome collaborations that are happening! Two of the best and nicest aviation guys on youtube, love it!
tjfSIM totally agree!!!
Just found this 3 years after the fact, but đŻ agree. It's always awesome to see favorite YT content creators collaborating and supporting each other. đ
I was a train driver for over 30 years. Drove freight and passengers and never once thought about passengers behind me. It was just a train to me. Keep yourself safe and everyone else is safe with you.
Petter, you are actually a very good interviewer. That was fun!
as I am writing this, I'm not so sure your video title is adequate. It's a full on interview, not so much a juxtaposition. Anyway. Great video, two charismatic, enthusiastic aviation ambassadors. Best wishes from Tyskland
As a truck driver I fully understand what they mean when they are talking about sitting around waiting.Just had that experience in Atlanta just yesterday actually.
in east europe normally you wait 10 - 11hrs now just write at least a day off or 2.
I'm not a railroader yet, but I know a few. Sitting and waiting is a big part of freight railroading, especially on single-track lines. In fact, one railroad got the nickname "Now You Sit & Wait."
As a retired USAF C130 Loadmaster, we referred to PAX as SLB (Self Loading Baggage), pure cargo was always easier.
We need a space shuttle pilot/ airline pilot collaboration.
I will see what I can do
@@MentourPilot Maybe get Robert "Hoot" Gibson on the channel. He was a Space Shuttle Commander and landed the most severely damaged spacecraft to ever safely return to Earth. Later went on to become a 737 captain for Southwest Airlines.

As soon as I heard "Kelsey from 74 Gear", I smashed the Like button. Would've done anyway, but this made it much faster. :)
Seeing this video 2 years later brings back a lot of memories... freeways in L.A. with no traffic, no contrails in the skies from flights... glad we're past that and I hope we never see anything like it again. Petter & Kelsey, glad you both made it through and are continuing to entertain & inform us! Keep up the great work!
Unfortunately, we most likely will see that again. Humanity gets struck with this kind of thing every 60-80 years or so; it's just the nature of diseases. But we're getting a lot better at handling them. The death rate of COVID was 70-100 times smaller than the death rate of the previous pandemic, the Spanish flu from a century before. If anything, it's a good reminder that we, for a change, did something right.
74 Gear and Mentour Pilot in the same video again?
History has been made again and I am here to witness it!!
These 2 are the kind of Gold even William Devane would endorse :) (move over Rosland...)
I apparently watch too many videos... Mentour asked Kelsey where he was, I looked at the hotel room and said "L.A."
Fascinating interview. I'm a subscriber to both channels. I was hoping to hear about Kelsey's background and how he got into aviation. Thanks for the video! Stay safe and healthy.
Could be a LIVE interview coming up!

Joe did a collaboration with Pilotemilie.. think the dude is just too busy, he flies cargo too
Really enjoy you and Kelsey getting together and discussing flying. Thank you both.
Use to be a B747 flight Loadmaster for a major ACMI carrier close to 9 years. I can tell you some of the crew did wear that during flights (which is the beauty of Cargo Flights-Freedom!). Regarding the Bangram air crash, I don't think any of us flying in the B747F didn't feel something in us watching our supposedly giant craft fell like a dead leaf.
Passengers are just cargo that judges you and complains lol. At least they're mostly self loading!
@@revenevan11 Ya, can really see that in the turn around time differences. Obviously the Dreamlifter is larger than standard but even a standard cargo plane takes a lot longer to unload than a passenger airline. The benefits of your cargo being self mobile!
Iâm not a pilot but I admire their job and I have to say that I learned a lot with this video. Airports should have a cozy lounge just for pilots with Lazy Boy recliners, TV, and stuff to help them to rest and relax if they need to.
Yes they should! 25 minutes' turnaround time between flights is too short!
Two different personnalities and channels approaches but two very informative and knowledgeable guys. Loved to see them together interviewing.
I love these videos with Kelsey on them. Two interesting guys!
Kelsey always has that mischievous, boyish grin. So refreshing to see him discussing with Petter - really uplifting (if you'll pardon the cringeworthy pun) and I hope we see more.
Not sure if itâs the natural light or the casual attire, but MentourPilot is looking fine! đ
The Dreamlifter looks like a 747 suffering from a severe seafood allergy reaction.
Flying over the Mediterranean a colleague of us asked a French ATC to spell the point he was given a direct to, upon which the ATC said fly any point you like đ€Ł crazy times indeed.
Great video. Very informative. As a retired airline employee with a background in load control, I remember that cargo aircraft have some additional weight and balance requirements especially regarding the prevention of twisting of the fuselage. Also Kelsey mentioned that certain cargo types cannot be loaded adjacent. There are also goods that can only be transported on cargo-only flights.
I have only PPL and fly Diamond DA40 from Rotterdam, and we can fly now the ILS06 which you can never do before, we can even fly over the Schiphol tower! So the crisis has also some very nice sides for private pilots,
Yeah, but is all cities over there. You need to fly like an hour before you get to normal landscapes. Just kidding, I'm Dutch too, from a gliding family, for several reasons stopped flying, still miss it like hell. The Diamond is great, but I could never afford a plane like that. Good on you. Have you ever shipped your Diamond to the States for a holiday trip? That brings us back to cargo planes...
Thank you both for this nice talking!
I'm really looking forward seeing Petter flying again
Love these collabs with Kelsey!
I know I'm almost a year late to this one considering I just found your channel but the pharmacist in me has to comment, "Wear sunscreen!" The amount of rays you are getting sitting up in the cockpit - SUNSCREEN STAT!! :)
Love these double chats, but on topic, with a ship, it's important to inspect your cargo, the ship can capsize or break. We might have more change to survive if something happens. So much respect to all pilots. I'm trucking now but still, it's a responsible job.
Yeah I actually got onto your channel because I got hooked on 74Gear đ. I'm not even a pilot but I aviation and aerospace stuff is interesting and since I chose another path in life I figured I'd experience it through your channels. Thanks to both of you for your great content.
Yeah, I've only had a couple intro piloting lessons (in sailplanes) myself but haven't been able to continue pursuing it, and almost certainly won't do it for a career. So I love vicariously seeing more in depth stuff about it through all these wonderful channels!
I sort of wish I could afford to take flying lessons for the little planes because it looks like it might be fun and it might make me feel better about riding in one of the big commercial airliners.
Same here!! :D I wonder if more of us discovered Petter via a different Youflewer ....Flewtuber? Crewtuber? Oh hang on, AIRSTREAMER? Hm... cockpit streamer sounds like incontinence so that's out too... đ€
Upon mentioning Manchester, my brain just clicked that I've not seen or heard a single airplane (I live under the MIRSI approach route to 23L/R, flights from across the atlantic and Ireland fly over us) since lockdown was initiated, with the exception of the NPAS helicopters flying over every so often.
afxinfinitee thereâs been a few arrivals, but very few and far between. The headwind direction has also caused the switch to arrivals from the south in recent days.
Loved the interview with Kelsey from 74 Gear. Aside from your channel, I watch Kelsey often. He always has interesting topics to discuss and he adds a bit of humor as well. Love both of your channels. Mentour, really like to watch your accident investigations from a pilots perspective rather than the NTSB accident report . Hope your quarantine goes by quickly and you are back in the air where you belong!
I lost it at Ginger Gangsters vibe hahah, loved this video an it is great to see a collab between my two favourite pilots on youtube! Stay safe and take care you both!
Awwww.... itâs so adorable when he said theyâll be grounded for at least 2 more weeks.
I feel with you guys, really, but this made me chuckle.
Now I know why your videos have been recommended to me, because Iâve been watching Kelsey
Funny thing is that the Dream lifter looks a lot like the Airforce/NASA Guppy. My uncle designed the original guppy in order to transport various rocket segment/stages. My uncle XXXXXX designed many aircraft and ICBM's among others during his Airforce tenure.
We need a pilot Greyhound bus driver collaboration.
A Greyhound driver would tell you about all of the super funky people they transport. It truly is a rolling ghetto.
WOW!!!!! THAT WOULD BE COOL.
Travelling in a Greyhound from Los Angeles to Tijuana, even eating some disgusting enchiladas in the bus station, was one of the most interesting experiences I have had. I feel like an Indiana Jones after that. :-)
Excellent episode. Thank you. I also watch Kelsey's channel. Both of you are great.
Thanks!! Iâll forward that to him
Thanks Petter for an awesome video. 74 Gear is also a really fantastic channel!!! As well as the awesome "Hollywood vs. Reality" videos, he also does "Cockpit Confessions" which are some really really funny stories and his videos about aviation memes are a lot a fun as well!
My two favorite pilots together. I don't fly but I am subscribed to both of these channels.
This was interesting to watch from a pilots perspective. I am a service engineer for heavy industrial machines so I was flying all over the world in planes with 3-4 passengers. I was the only passenger on 2 flights. Very interesting conversations with cabin crew and pilots! As always great video.

The fact that they both feel and think the same no matter what's in the plane shows the high professionalism they have every single day and how well they follow protocol to the letter. I would love to fly with these guys and feel very safe knowing who was behind the yoke. 10 out of 5 *s **********
Loved the interaction between the two of you. It was really interesting to hear the differences between the flights. Thanks to the two best pilots with this type of shows.

It's weird to see this a year later. With Italy doing so bad and Spain, and the US not knowing yet what was going to hit them.
And right now the Netherlands, where I'm from, are amongst the worst performing countries in the world. And honestly, it's not that bad right now. That makes it seem like we are actually getting out of here. Here's to hoping!
Covid has made me seriously consider becoming a cargo pilot for my whole career. This video gave a lot of insight

You should look primarily at cargo operators then. Large aircraft usually retain their value much better for them than cargo airliners.

They were cool and I miss them every time I buckle up in a cramped soulless 777. In 1969 I once flew LHR SFO on a 707 320C an a/c that had soul but cramped doesn't begin to describe 8 hours in that thing.

Great collab. Petter you ask the best questions.
I live near the Boeing plant in Everett (the big one that holds the record for largest building by volume). I honestly hadn't realized until I scrolled down and read someone else's comment, but... Yeah, the Dream Lifters aren't taking off or landing here for the past few weeks. Usually, there's at LEAST a few a month. You can tell when a Dream Lifter is landing because the engines are so much louder than other jets. Crazy that I kinda miss the bone-rattling behemoths...
