To person "stopped taking after 5 days" I so understand your decision, sorry U suffered SEs that frightening. After my first 5 days on 5mg Donepezil I was "re-living" vivid LSD and Mushroom Trips of my youth! If I had no mental recall of this I too would have stopped DONEPEZIL! Now So VERY grateful 7 mo later on 10mg with PROFOUND IMPROVENT & HOPE!

donepazil is know to be a true cognitive enhancer.
My wife has been on donepizil for about 7 or 8 months. She was also on Namenda but I took her off that because it made her depressed and lethargic. I just purchased a oximeter and checked her oxygen level and pulse rate overnight for 2 nights and while her oxygen level is ok, her pulse rate drops to the 50's even 48 once. I think the Donepezil is the culprit. Do you think I should take her off of it?
Prior to taking Donepezil,,I'd never have a headache. How I get a long headache in the very top of my head.

I stopped donepezil just after 5 days of taking it. 5mg tablet. Will i still get bad side effects after stopping in only 5 days of this med? The side effects were too much for me. So i stopped.

you shoulda taken less to start off obviously. dont trust ur dr’s when it comes to dosages or what to take.

Okay I started to take donepezil 2 years ago after a serious head injury and micro vascular strokes the effects I experienced are at first I had very clear dreams of things that upset me in my past my tremors and shaking I experienced after my accident calmed down except at night,I feel much more grounded and not in a dream state I’m more attuned to my surroundings almost more then before my injuries I take it at night before bedtime around 8 pm my head feel like and dizzy slightly for around 3 hours I don’t sleep well I also have nerve damage so my hands and feet burn tremendously anyway so I don’t know if it’s the medication or just the way it is ,my family has a history of dementia and Alzheimer’s I pray I don’t get worse as time goes on,I don’t feel calmer I had a terrible bout with anxiety to the point I couldn’t understand how or why I never in my life had fear or nightmares like I did right after my accident before taking donepezil and I credit it for stopping much of it so I could function…during Covid it was so very hard for me to get help quickly I live a rural area so I don’t have access to medical care like most people but I got through it and I feel the medication was beneficial in my case but everyone is different so anyway that’s my experience thus far….
