- In this tutorial I show you how to braid the Mosaic braid. It is of good use for making dog leashes and plaiting over objects. It looks best done with a core, but can be done without one just as well. You can use any even number of strands to do the braid.

Would be nice to see how to finish and tuck the ends…
All kinds of ways and videos for that, this is just a pattern. I figure the Matthew Walker would look wonderful with this
The bane of all trading videos.
Another great tutorial mark looks great going to try it tommorow thanks again for your hard work and dedication to paracording and your tutorials thanks for sharing
Hi Mark, new sub here. Excellent as always. Very clear and easy to follow. I really appreciate what you are doing for the knot tying community. Thank you sharing
I love to see your you tube channel because your explanation is concise and easy to understand. Thank you and keep it up. 🙂
Dude, you are so easy to follow. Thanks for the videos.
very nice and easy to do, thank you
Beautiful braid and not in my book. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to try this one.
Excelente trabajo 👍🇵🇪👏
Getting started is always the hardest part, as he shows us in this vid.
excellent !! Thank you
Muito bonita parabéns
Really nice!
Would love to see how you finish it off. Enjoy watching your videos but I'm new at and not sure how to finish some of the ones you've shown.
Bonjour 🇲🇫
A beautiful one!👍👏👏👏
Nice! Thank you!
I'm planning on trying this style on a whip I'm starting
HI there! Love the Video. It is very clear and concise. Do you have a vid of you showing how to back splice a loop onto the end?
Thank you
Very nice
Nice!
Very nice! This would work with regular rope
For anyone wondering how to end it you can use a common whipping at the end and the top where the loop is its not the prettiest when you melt the ends but it works
I'm new to all this, my question is for this particular knot how many feet per cord would I need for a 4-foot leash?
@@MeganMcChesney-ux4jg I typically use ~18' lengths, for this it would be (4) lengths to get you the 8 strands. I also do a finishing knot at the handel after weaving in.
Gostei do vídeo
Thanks Mark! I like to braid in front instead of behind. Imagine that someone was sitting at a table across from you watching you. He’d be seeing you braiding in front rather than behind. I don’t know why,but to me it just makes more sense to braid in front. I know why you do it though, because all the books say to do it like that. Oh well, that’s just my two cents worth:
Hey!
Indeed, once you pick a way of plaiting, you for the most part stick to it. I do all my braids around the back, be it the 4 strand round, herringbone etc. As long as it works...it is legit in my book.
Mark
@@Paracordguild good point Mark!
"Empowering the paracord community..." LMAO, do they really need it? Love the videos!
Fantastic videos, though I wish you'd do more wide shots of the finished product so we can see the whole thing
Декабрь, 2023, 🎄😎.
Muy bueno, cuanto paracord se necesita para un brazalete? Ejemplo?
👌🏻👍🏻. Pretty.
Great, thank you ! but how to end it and how to make the start for a dog leash ?
Dear Sir. I love your video and how you explained it step by step. I'm interested to know how thick the cord was to wrap paracord around for Dear Sir. I love your video and how you explained it step by step. I'm interested to know how thick the cord would need to be to wrap paracord 6, 8 or 10 strands.
Very clear instructions, thanks. One question. Why would you put a a line in the middle of the paradores? It’s can’t be for
strength. There’s already 8-550lb cords in the braid. Is it just to add girth?
😊😊😊çok güzel
Is there a formula to determine how much paracord is needed to make, for example a 6 foot dog leash?
I made a 9 inch keychain with 2 feet of 550 for my core and 5 3 feet strands of 95 i doubt that helps much but it might give you an idea of how much supplies you need
I would expect each of the eight strands might need to be 8 feet long so you could have 64 feet of paracord to make a 6 ft dog leash.
Glad you actually speak in your videos compared to Tyingitalltogether who seems to think the classical guitar is good instruction.
👍
It would be good to see how to finish off the knots. I would subscribe if the projects had a finsh .
Seems like plaiting with extra steps... Nice.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
So how do you finish this one off to get a clean look?
Nice Video but how did you finish the end
You mentioned using as a leash. How do you attach the hook, and make the hand loop at the other end? Otherwise, it is a beautiful braid. I have made other leashes with paracord, and would like to try this one, just need the other info. Thanks!
When you want a leash you begin by threading the cords through the hardware and then braid.
I would end this braid by weaving a long turks head over the strands very tight covering the free ends.
How do you decide the length of cord?
I love your tutorials on these braids, but how about some of these braids showing how to finish off the braiding?? Just a thought. Thank you.
Hey John!
It really varies on the project, so it is hard to give a general way of finishing. Sometimes a Footrope knot is used, sometimes a splice is used etc.
Mark
@@Paracordguild thank you for reading and replying. Was just a thought.
@@Paracordguild I was thinking something like that. Manrope knot or if it is a dog leash, braiding 4 strands each into a rope and then splicing the ends together to form a loop. (to put your hand through to hold the 'leash') I am not sure I explained that well but I can picture it in my mind, I am just not sure how to achieve it.
I am relatively new to this, and find your tutorials excellent. On this one however, I have a problem. I braided successfully but I don't know how to finish it. I can't find any tutorial to finish and tie this 8 strand braid. Any suggestions?
maybe a footrope knot, those look pretty good to me
Can you please make a video of ways to end these large braids? Although you can hide the ends behind Turk's head knots, these don't always keep the strands secure at the end.
Agree, if you do not show how to end it properly it is not so usefull! Love the video for the design though! 😊
@@ThePaulus2010 I find that the large braids tend to get longer in front than in back. There has to be a way to catch up the back side at the end. I usually tie each left cord to each right one then singe and cover with a Turk's head knot, yet I know that there has to be a better way.
If I'm hiding the end behind a Turks head I use nylon upholstery thread to sew the ends together.
@@MelxVxBoo that is an excellent idea. I've had a couple of knots slip out from under the Turk's head knot, when working on small objects.
Then again my idea of small differs from most people. I made a 2B21L Turk's head knot on a toothpick and a globe knot on the head of a corsage pin, 3 passes on each project. Both used .75mm nanocord. I'm not sure if upholstery thread would work for that. It might be bigger than the nanocord.
@@equesdeventusoccasus there is always the option of super glue.
How do you finish it?
yeah but how do you end it ?
How do you deal with the core when you're closing the loop of the handle for a dog lead?
