Were Kurds in Anatolia before Turks? The answer is yes: Kurds were present in Anatolia before the arrival of Turks. Not only before the arrival of Turks, but also before the existence of the Turkish people and the Turkish language, Kurds established states, empires, and civilizations in Anatolia. The official language and education language of these empires and civilizations was Kurdish. The claim of Turkish historians that "Kurds did not exist in Anatolia when Turks arrived" is not true and is based on intentional mistranslations. The truth is that even before the existence of the Turkish people, Kurds established civilizations and empires in Anatolia. In history, the region that includes modern-day Inner Anatolia, Kurdistan, Armenia, Iran, Balochistan, Afghanistan, and Central Asia was referred to as the Aryan country, meaning Iran. The ancestors of Kurds, the Medes, established this Aryan or Iranian civilization approximately 2,700 years ago in 678 BC. The official language of this empire, called Proto-Kurdish or Old Kurdish, was Mede. Therefore, the language of this civilization, empire, official language, and education language was Old Kurdish, while languages like Turkish, Arabic, and Persian did not exist in history
