Unpopular opinion but I dont think this was an injustice. He was previously diagnosed with mental illness and three psychiatrists said he was in psychosis. It was all the systems around him imo.

Blame the cutting of funds for mental health. The lack of staff and funding for community care. The closing of mental health facilities where people unsuitable for community care were dumped into situations they cannot function in. Its the Government (tories) just defunded over and over and over.

The amount of times when an unstable person has been let out/free to roam the streets attacking innocent people and the 'careworkers',doctors, psychologists etc trotting out "lessons will be learnt", " lack of linked up reporting between social services, hospitals, doctors, psychologists etc" THIS MUST STOP
The people responsible formonitoring these ill people MUST be broùght to account.

The lady is hurting, and I fully understand that, but she has no understanding of mental health. It is not permanent, it can be transitory, even within a 24hr period. A person can believe they are well and not need medication. This is where the problem lies, in or around 1997 there was a famous court case to stop people with disabilities, being forced to take medication, or medical procedures such as sterilisation. The Solicitor, is doing a disservice, to this lady, he knows full well, that law, will never be changed, because the act of forcing procedures on people were cruel. Are patients being let down, yes, either through a lack of service or incompetent health care professionals. If someone is refusing medication, and they are obviously a danger to the community, they can be sectioned, and taken into care, in a secure hospital. There has been many of these incidents in the years since the law was rightfully changed.

Paranoid schizophrenia is very easy to be labelled with, maybe the guy didn't have it and just wants sympathy. Schizophrenics are not violent.

Unfortunately some ethnic groups have different ways of behaving. I am afraid this poor mother is the victim of our politicians and maybe ourselves ignoring this basic fact. He should not have been in the country at all.
