Chapter 25 The RNA Viruses of Medical Importance

  • In this lecture, I discuss the RNA viruses of medical importance including Influenza and other enveloped RNA viruses like Mumps, Rubella and Rabies. I also discuss HIV infection and progression to AIDS. The lecture concludes with a small portion on Prions and the disease they cause.

    Coronavirus made a comeback. Listen to how Mr. Kerschen describes the coronavirus family of viruses at 22:48: "And SARS is one of those that came out about 15 years ago. We haven't heard much since. They're having a few outbreaks here and there, but it hasn't been one that has been a major outbreak or pandemic [...]".

    I have no exam about micro
    In fact I'm a mechanical engineer
    you explain so good that I just couldn't stop seeing these lectures
    it's 4th lecture that I'm seeing + parasites + viruses + DNA viruses
    and I might get back to other lectures too

    Seriously thank you so much for your videos, today I will be taking my final for micro and so far I have a 96 in the class which is thanks to you. This is the hardest class in my school, people retake this class year after year.
