    I just watched your last video and when the rubber grommet didn't work for me, I came looking for this video. Thanks again!

      You're welcome! I figured the rubber grommet wouldn't work for everyone so I posted an alternate method which is the one I use also. Happy washing!! 😊

    Much appreciate you posting these vids. I think I kind of like the rubber grommet just seems like that would be easier to take out if/when needed.

      @@haxguy0 You're welcome. I know how frustrating it is not being able to lift your washing machine lid while it's on. Just ridiculous, they should make it so you can change a setting and bypass it if you want.

    How hard is it to just replace the lid lock switch? We have had our TR7 for 6 years with no problems and a ton of washing (4-5 times a week) big loads. Just recently started getting the err code L1. The lid lock just keeps clicking until it throws out the code. I cleaned out the area where the switch is, drained the water and it’s worked fine. Didn’t have to bypass. It’s only happened a couple of times so far but I figure if the switch is going bad I would just replace it.

    • @ejdavis72
      @ejdavis72  Před rokem +1

      There is a couple screws at the bottom of the washing machine you take out to pull the front panel. The switch is under there if you want to replace it. I would just put a rubber washer or the bent wire hangar trick in the switch to keep it pressed. You would have to remove the lock on the lid though. I have other videos on how to bypass this. Also, this machine should have a 7 year warranty so it should still be under warranty. Speed Queen told me to just call a local repair man if I ever have trouble and then the repair man deals with Speed Queen warranty.

      @@ejdavis72 Thank you Eric, I was able to get the lid switch to keep it pressed, but the back of the washing machine is not open like yours to do anything with the pressure switch. Tried it anyway and still got the clicking and the error code L1. Our model no is AWNE9RSN115TW01 the product code is TR7000WN
      I'll try calling the local store I bought it from on the warranty. They can direct me to the best local guy for it. When we bought it the salesman said they use these in the schools and they can hold up under heavy washing conditions especially since it is the commercial model. Do you know a good site to download the service manual for these?

      @@J96342 I cut the hook off of the lid lock so I can raise the lid anytime during the cycle but in hindsight just removing the lid latch and using the little L shaped wire in the video might be the best option. Cutting the hook off works as long as the lid is closed when the wash cycle starts otherwise it gives an error code.
