    Just picked this unit after considering a few others (the 660 was on that list). I gotta say, this is one of the most *expressive* musical instruments I have ever layed my hands on.
    The real stand out for me are the guitar tones, the "super articulation" voicing is unfrigginbelievable (try the "pedal steel" patch, simply jaw dropping). I use it paired it up with my Roland Juni Di (which has better custom patch editing functions). Great feeling keys, sweet sounds, fun and complete accompaniment rhythms. A huge upgrade from my Casio WK-6600. Game changing at this price point.

    I got the DGX 660; for my graduation 5 years ago, and I still love it so much! My 660 is amazing!! The only problem is, that my little pedal I have, it makes too much noise; makes my DGX sound loud!! I love my DXG baby; still, and it is my most prized possession! I'll just take it; as it is!! The DGX 670 is unbelievable!! Incredible though!! They're both amazing!! Nice video dude!! I'm officially subscribed!!

    I wish there would be a comprehensive video or videos that Yamaha would do, showing how to fully utilize the expressions and articulations. Really, if they would show how the people who create those little "demos" which show what each instrument can do, it would be incredible and probably a first.

    He makes it seems easy, but this instrument is very complex and can cause you to pull your hair out. I'm often very confused by it. Yamaha needs to publish a song book for it that shows how to go through the settings for some easy to play songs.

      Agree with you. I love the various sounds on this keyboard. I'm not into tech and just learning to play( I think my age is against me. 80 years.) Jeremy See gives a basic info on one of his UTube videos. It would be helpful if someone out there could video use of styles,recording , using the education, flash dives and midi( have no clue what that is). Still I'm having fun. It's a great instrument though, Just wish I could get my head around it.

    DGX has really come a long way. I used to have a 300, but I gave it to my sister's boyfriend years ago. Tried the 670 today; better sound generator, better key feel, doesn't have the same metallic look as MacBooks... The 300 basically felt like a worse version of the modern PSRs.
    Glad to say I'd get back into DGX, but I'm on a budget. 😂

    I own the DGX-650, and if there is one weak area on it, it's the synth section. I love to play '80s music, and I wish I had a bit more versatility for emulating analog synths and the ability to tweak the existing sounds a little bit. I don't necessarily need a full synthesizer, just a bit of adjustment to make it sound correct.
    I would also like to see a looper so you can play a riff and repeat it while you play something else. Not just chords but an actual recording of what the user plays on a loop.

      Allows for importing your own sounds for the keyboard. Better speakers.
      The DGX670, The sounds are almost the same from the SX600 but with the beautiful CFX samples from P-515. It has only a little number of styles only 263 (525 in SX900). And it has the unison and accent feature
      which can't be found on SX900. 88 weighted keys vs 61 keys.

    Can it be had for less than $400? Does it need that console that it's shown on or can you use one of those adjustable x-frame stands?

      @cristopherbonn2675 Před 2 lety +5

      The wooden stand is not included in the box so it's optional. You can definitely use an x-frame stand. Personally I bought the wooden stand because it's very secure and looks nicer.

      The X stands could work but you wouldn't want to move it too often (the teeth that hold it up can get stripped if you're not careful). If you're asking about the keyboard price itself, it's at least $900 anywhere I've looked (in the USA - in Canada it's more like $1200).

    I just got one today. Just installed and tried. The sound of key striking itself is too loud. It sounds weird.

    Can you record different voices at the same time?

    • @keymaster430
      @keymaster430 Před 2 lety +1

      On my 660, you're able to set it to "Dual Voices" and play two at one time. So most likely the 670 will have that feature. Maybe even more than just two.

      The lower keys are heavy weighted and it gets lighter as you go up octaves. This is a special Keyboard.

    It's high time Yamaha starts putting out keyboards to fit you like clothes or gloves , the right keyboard size, there are children who need smaller keyboards, women, men with smaller hands etc back in the day keyboards were no not this wide with keys closer together, there is one co in PA who is doing this where u can just switch out a keyboard, for a keyboard that fits your hand size, DS keyboards and it's time Yamaha let you order keyboard size with weighted hammer action they would be meeting a big need

    Great video. Slightly annoying presenter. I mean it would be nicer if he would talk to the audience as if they were mature adults rather than as if he is trying to impress the parents of a 9 year old.
