Welcome to Australia! It's so amazing to be visiting our neighbours again and sharing a whole new region of Australia, Tropical North Queensland. We're staying in Palm Cove at Reef House accommodation and it's ahhhhmazing! This vlog is all about the highlight of the region, the Great Barrier Reef.
To reach Great Barrier Reef you need a boat, obviously, so we took the Sailaway full day low isles tour on a luxury catamaran. Visiting this part of Australia and finally snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef is a big tick off our bucket list ❤️ Check out all the tours they offer here - sailawayportdo...
If you're heading to Palm Cove be sure to check out Reef House Resort, the accommodation is amazing but even if you're just passing by the beach check out the restaurant! - www.reefhouse....
This series is in partnership with Tropical North Queensland tourism, but as always we have full editorial control over what we share with you in these vlogs. There’s loads of incredible info about Tropical North Queensland here - www.tropicalno...

I have run out of superlatives to describe the quality of your content as well as the two of you! So, I will just say it again - beautiful job on the content and beautiful couple. Well done!!
Damn Russell, you made our day - thank you!
The cinematography is so good. Thanks for taking us with you on your adventure!
Yay, thanks Christina!
Really getting addicted with your content. Love you guys so much.
Thanks!
As a kiwi now living in Australia (for many years!), welcome! The vlog was beautiful and you guys are so special. Thanks for letting us crash your party! 💕
Australia such a beautiful country.
Ahh you didn't crash the party, you're cruising with us - we all out here together 👍🏼
just discovered you guys and checked your back catalogue. Amazing info for our 6 week trip to NZ Feb 2023. I'm hooked. Cheers
Awesome! Thank you! You're gonna love it
Loved this vlog ❤ and it was nice to see snorkelling instead of scuba diving in this video as my other half can't dive due to a collapsed lung a few years ago, and I find an awful lot of videos of places like this show diving trips rather than snorkelling trips so it's difficult to get a feel for the sorts of things we'd see closer to the surface. The hotel you stayed at was gorgeous and I do love an adults area/pool. Don't get me wrong, I like kids, but as a teacher, when on holiday, it's always fab to get a little distance. I love how casual you were Dane with saying 'we had a Kangaroo fillet'. I've never been close to Australia (Bangkok is probably the closest I've managed) so my jaw dropped at the idea of eating kangaroo. I'll be watching these 3 episodes very carefully as I imagine northern Oz is a perfect place to visit in our 6 weeks summer holidays when it's their winter as I imagine their summer would be too hot for me!
Yeah we hear ya on that, scuba isn't something that Stace has ever wanted to do so we really need to look at places through a snorkelling mindset. Have to admit, it is pretty crazy that they eat roo but they are a real problem in places so it's just part of the menu - definitely one of those things you just have to say 'well if they do, we will'!
@Daneger and Stacey I love that you show it from a snorkel POV, so much more helpful than watching it from a dive POV. As for the kangaroo, I too would be very eager to try it, though I know i wouldn't have been as casual as you! 🤣 A few years ago, I accidentally ordered sweet breads (and thought it'd be something like brioche) ate the whole portion of cows pancreas and all, and enjoyed it. So ever since have been more adventurous with foods when travelling. Lambs brain in Jordan was the biggest surprise for me - was lovely!
Australia is certainly pretty special. Glad you enjoyed your time here. Looking forward to the next two episodes.
SO stunning - and amazing to be back around our Ozzy siblings again after so long
Thanks guys! I went to Palm Cove in 2008, caught the bus up from Cairns. One of my bucket list moments was sitting on the beach at Palm Cove eating Barrimundi and chips watching the sun set over the Coral Sea.
Our pleasure! That's a lovely memory, sometimes the most simple moments are the best and that sounds zen (and tasty)
Amazing footage of The great barrier reef!! :)
Glad you enjoyed it ❤️
So amazing and beautiful
Such quality content. Well done.
Thank you!
Amazing ! Looked incredible, and a great place where you are staying 💕
It really was!
Loved seeing Palm Cove and Port Douglas and the reef experience you had! We just got back from two months in Australia and wish we would have done another reef day trip from Port Douglas, oh well, next time! Our kids were super jealous of the sharks you saw so close!!
So nice, thanks for sharing the experience 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Our pleasure
Can’t wait to return to Australia soon! Thanks for the inspiration 🇨🇦
If you've already been you probably didnt need the inspo, you know just how special it is, but glad you enjoyed!
Wow rocking Palm Cove. The coastal drive is amazing with ancient rainforest on one side & Great Barrier Reef on the other. Stacey ocean snorkeling, you're a champ! We will be waiting for the rest of FNQ series. 😁
So true! It's so unique! Stace was killing it with the snorkeling, right next to sharks even. Love to you both ❤️
Dam wish i could get over there
Totally worth it!
That resort looks amazing! We did the same tour with Sailaway last year…..best day ever!
So cool! Glad you guys did it as well and loved it too. Hope you had better weather than us!
I live in Cairns and to be honest it's really nice seeing it through your eyes 👀 it made me appreciate home and want to go adventuring. 🚶♀️
Yay! Hope you've had some nice adventures in the past few weeks since commenting
We stayed at The Reef House in Palm Cove on our honeymoon 20 years ago. Your video brings back great memories including the honesty bar.
Aww that's so sweet! So glad you could reminisce on your honeymoon
Wauw 🤩 the footage under water so awesome 🤩 where your staying is stunning & the view from your Balcony is
So beautiful , i could sit for ages with a cup of tea or a cocktail just watching everything going past 😜
Looking forward to your next adventures .
Take care 🥰🥰
Looking forward to your next adventure
So nice isn't it?! Especially with such a nice evening weather temp, it's still nice being outside and watching the world go by
Love Palm Cove and The Reef House. ❤️
Stuff dreams are made of ❤️
Hi guys, welcome to Oz.
You appear to be having a great time up there. The great barrier reef is amazing, we loved it when we were there. Great video as always.
Kevin & Ange
Thanks so much! It was amazing - such a stunning part of the world
Bringing back great memories when I was in FNQ January last year. It was wet and the heat and humidity was hectic. Took me a short while to get use to the snorkel. Rangatans don't swim. Good to see you legends exploring far north.
Humidity can be tough huh! Nothing like jumping into the water when it's that hot though - glad you had a nice time and got the snorkelling in the end
Love Australia!!! 😍🥰🥰🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Queensland is so beautiful!!
Didnt expect this vlog would be in such an amazing place!
Woukd be waiting for your next adventure there in Australia 😎🇦🇺
Thanks Dane & Stacey. 🔥🔥🔥
Glad you enjoyed it! Australia has so much going on it's insane, we really digged our time in the area - glad you are too 👍🏼
Thanks marts👨👸🌹 love the Great Barrier Reef! 🛥Cool video, thanks for sharing love you channel. Cheers 🍺🍺🧔
Glad you enjoyed it!
Harriet and I spent time at the Great Barrier Reef (Cairns). A snorkeling and diving paradise. We did a tourist thing by taking a mini sub tour with glass windows. The sea life is incredible.
You guys made such great choices to showcase Tropical North Queensland. Looking forward to much more. Thank You Guys. A big shout out to Nalu. Love to you all❤❤❤ Harriet, Jim
and Yuki. Richmond. Va.
Oh no way? We really wanted to do the glass window sub thing, or stay in one of the hotels with the underwater view, but we didn't realise that was an option - good on you guys! Sounds like you've had such incredible adventures around the world
Just spent 2 months in Cairns, I'm starstruck thinking I was in the same state as you guys! Hope you enjoyed the area :)
So cool! We bump into people all the time, one day that's gonna be you ❤️ Hope you had a great time
Oh I'm so excited about this series! Australia scares the beejeebies out of me, but it's so exciting to get to see it through your eyes!
The landscape of our country is diverse and amazing mate. Nothing to worry about. Except huge crocs but they are way up north right up the top. The Daintree is safe and very special.
There's a couple more things to think about for sure, but totally worth it! We explore more into the rainforest in the next episode and it was so special ❤️
Australia is a land of beautiful birds, fascinating animals, delicious food, friendly people, ideal weather, stunning beaches, incredible cities ( Melbourne has been named the most liveable city in the world for about six years straight),amazing scenery etc. What scares you?
Incredible underwater footage! The visibility looked great on your camera. But weren't you guys nervous about the reef sharks? I guess I need to get more educated. Great vlog!
Honestly we were a little, the Aussies were all like "it's only a few reefies" - so we just did what everyone did and jumped in! Reef sharks aren't interested in people though, I scuba'd with them in Costa Rica and they're chill
Beautifully curated vlog.
Thank you!
@@DanegerAndStacey thank you 😊
Love the video guys. We love Palm Cove but as mentioned on Instagram the other day, Hamilton Island gets my vote as my new favourite! Whitehaven beach is incredible. Katie
Good to know, Katie! Still so much more of Aus for us to explore but we were blown away by the reef and rainforest perfectly meeting in TNQ, so cool!
Thank you for amazing video! So beautiful 😍 Hugs from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 🤗 ❤ 💙
Thanks team!
The quality of your content is GOLDEN. Should have a lot more subs!!
Much appreciated ❤️
You’ve outdone yourselves with this one!
Yay ❤️
Palm cove was nice, but the beach was disappointing. I did the Low Isles trip but with a red jet(?) boat and it was an amazing snorkeling trip. Beautiful place. No turtles on my trip but great weather.
Awesome and I can wait to see more of your trip. GBR and FNQ are a great experience.
Yeah we can see where you're coming from - there are some amazing islands/beaches out there but this might not be the most beautiful but seems to be the best setup for all the activities. Glad you had a good time as well though!
When did you guys film this video? The weather looks amazing
This was in May :)
Very interesting
Beautiful. Could you please tell me how long the catamaran trip was from the main land to the snorkeling location?
Average trip is about an hour mate.
Thanks! Weather dependant so 1-2 hours for the cruise out there, this trip was right up our alley though because it was more about the cruisey experience vs some larger ships that rocket you out there en masse.
sick asfk vids stacey an daneger. awesome trip yo whent on. hahahaahahahhahaahhaahahahahhahaah
Thanks brother!
I was at palm cove in June 2023
Did you love it as much as us?
@@DanegerAndStacey yes
I have been waiting for this series. I am heading to NQ in October with my family and can’t wait.
Amazing! Hopefully this one and the next few will help with your planning - you're going to love it!
Great vid! I have lived in FNQ most my life I'd you want to see turtles make sure you check out Fitzroy island. And they Kayaking in Babinda (a little south of Cairns) is an ABSOLUTE MUST!!! You will love it
Cool, thanks Chelsea! It was so tough to try and pick where to go and what to do with such a short stay - guess we gotta come back!
idk. soo well have too go over too queensland australia sometime soon. hahahahahahhaahahahahahahaahhahahahah. as i got family an cuzzys over there an i misss them. like lots. as off this rough asfk coivd 19 lockdowns all my another freinds an family are over there in aus. sucks big time not getting too seeing them anytime soon an soo got too go too japan as well tooo hahahahhaah. someday soon
Don’t get seasick with a bumpy boat ride
hi
Hey 👍🏼
Hi, really enjoying your vids, however, seeing you eat seafood after paying a heap of money to see them alive under the sea seems incongruous.
I do remember back in my childhood in Wellington (Titahi Bay), we would go out on occasion & lovingly interact with lambs & sheep, only to go back home & have roast lamb for Sunday lunch. My opinion, but something I felt I had to comment on.
Other than that, great vids :-0 )
Im really not happy with the state of the reef in these pictures 😢 there just looks to be so much bleaching going on more needs to be done by government agencies to fix this problem. But obviously you guys did amazing work with this video
Thanks Marisa - there does appear to be a lot of bleaching in the area we were in, though the visibility really didn't help at all in terms of making it look special.
