Somebody get this guy in the Hall of Fame!! He was the last fullback that actually ran the ball more than catching it.
Agreed 💯
@@kashakamcpherson9719 It's true, ever since Alstott, there has never been a fullback that runs a lot since the fullback position is practically a lost cause for the most part now
That's crazy I thought he was already in
@@chrisscott2197 Well somehow he isn't. Hope he gets in someday.
Tight ends play fullback now
Best Fullback ever..
He deserves a jacket
Wait he doesn't???? 😮
@@worldpeace7171 I think the last fullback to be inducted was in the '80s or '90s
Larry Csonka might be the best ever, but Alstott is right there.
Jim brown played fullback
@@broncosbreaks yea he was listed as a Fullback but he basically was a running back , He shared snaps with Bobby Mitchell before he got traded , Jim brown got more touches than some full time starting RB's did in his era , That doesn't mean that Jim brown wasn't unstoppable tho , he was amazing, I just can't look at him as a full pure FB
Epitome of a crushing North South runner, no dancing around, pure smash mouth, who else miss guys like this ?
Jordan Howard 🥲
Oh he can dance around too, and that's what made him special, he could do it all!
I would like this comment, but it's at 44 likes & that's Riggo's number.
I do miss players like this
@@brycegauw9275 Agreed, he could make some nifty cuts and outpace the defense at times
When I was 13 my dad took me to a rams vs Seahawks game but he only had a mike alstott jersey that I could wear and I ended up getting a lot of compliments 😂
You’re in good hands with Alstott
Ha I see what you did there
I'm convinced he's a real life Bobby Boucher
Miss old school NFL primetime
Hahaha good one 😂
It was a Chris Berman line from Sportscenter
This dude is the embodiment of old school football. So fun to watch. Just a grown man running full force
Only thing these highlights are missing is the sounds of Chris berman saying BOOM-BOOM-BOOM 🤣🤣🤣
His power was incredibly rare and so much fun to watch. But man, gotta give his jump cuts some serious credit
A true Juggernaut, you can’t give him any momentum or he’ll run you over. Thank you for all those years!
10 seconds in and I’m already getting CTE looking at his shoulder pads
The toughest fullback to bring down in the history of the NFL
Jim brown played fullback
Larry Csonka, Jim Brown, Mike Alstott. These are Gods among men.
But Mike Alstott is more fun to watch.
He might be the toughest runner ever to bring down... once you make contact
Earl Campbell?
The Bus was no joke either
One of my favourite players growing up. It's incredible he lasted 11 seasons.
That’s having some serious toughness, fortitude and loyalty to the team that drafted you
12 Brody
@@sethrobinson2811 he didn't play in 2007
Alstott is the essence of what makes football a great sport. When he gets the handoff or catches the ball he has one all-consuming desire - move forward no matter what. And the guys on the other side have one objective, too - to stop him. What takes place at the point of contact is 100% football. The sheer will of one man against the will of 11 others. This guy is football. It's why I watch.
Man it sucks I missed this guys career. He got drafted the year I joined the military. Just didn't have the free time to keep up with professional sports back then. Lucky for CZcams I guess. The "bahnhof beast" 🇩🇪
Mike Alstott is the greatest Fullback in history in my opinion. The A-Train just couldn't be stopped and the way he would fight for yards was insane!
Jim brown was a fullback …
@@broncosbreaks he was technically a Running Back but was listed as Fullback also I'm counting Alstott as my greatest because he played when was until I was like 4.
Also Fullbacks are mostly for blocking today and not really what they used to be.
I can't put Jim Brown into the best FB category but one of best RB in history
@@siltstridersftw The N F L and everyone in it says Jim Brown is Greatest Full back of all time . Idk where yall get off on saying hes basically a RB ??? Makes zero sense lmao
@@siltstridersftw it’s funny you make the comparison to Jim brown by saying he was more of a running back, because this entire highlight reel shows Alstott lining up as a running back. It’s apple to apples, my friend
@@broncosbreaks its not all he did tho. he blocked for warrick dunn and other running backs. the secret was how tony D used him in schemes. hed block for running backs and when the 2nd half rolled around he would line up and run the ball down a tiring defense. absolute best full back to ever do it. his highlights dont show everything he did for the team on the field
Almost every time he gets tackled in these highlights the dude who tackled him is slow getting up 🚂 just a different beast.
Eventually a smart coach is going to look at the lack of good tackling technique across today's NFL and bring back the fullback. Just imagine what someone like Alstott could do today.
Yep. Sad to say as a Bucs fan but Alstott would run right through the middle of our defense unless Vita Vea got to him first. Devin White has bad tackling technique and Lavonte David is just too small to bring down Altott by himself. You need a Ray Lewis/Bryan Urlacher type ILB for that.
@@tonyg490 i found this write up about alstott from 2000 and from his mouth was quoted "moving cars 100 yards is awesome exercise" im convinced anyone but aaron donald would get run over from this man
Detroits doing it now
Modern run schemes r beginning to exploit smaller defenses.
Wtf could a modern fast D do to this man but get hurt? John Lynch, on the Bucs, one of the hardest hitting safetys in the league at the time, wouldnt want to stop Altott one on one. The man was a BEAST.
Imagine a Power Lifter in the gym. Now imagine he plays as hard as he lifts. That’s Mike Alstott
What a beast. And he seems humble and down to earth too. I'm sure Tampa is proud. Too bad this style of football doesn't exist anymore. I'm glad I grew up with it.
More than proud. He's one of the best things about this city, especially when the Bucs sucked and Tampa wasn't as big as it is today.
@@dtm0524 Thats awesome. Was he involved much with the team when Brady came in as far as coaching or anything like that?
My all-time favorite power back. Such an underrated runner. So satisfying to watch.
Played Fullback in Pop Warner, Mike was my idol. Needless to say I grew up to be 5'7 & 160 pounds lol. Now work in sports production
It happens to the best of us man
there will never be another Mike Alstott. He was a beast!! My favorite buccaneer!
This man needs a gold jacket.
The days of punishing fullbacks are gone man he was the best
Fullbacks are an endangered species. We need to raise awareness before we lose these rare absolute beasts to extinction
Alstott was a true beast💯 LEGENDARY
Back when fullbacks existed the Purdue boilermaker legend!!!
Let's not forget that in addition to these great highlights, he spent a good deal of his offensive snaps as a lead blocker for more traditional backs like Warrick Dunn, Michael Pittman, and Cadillac Williams. The guy was the epitome of a team player.
There will never be another FB like Alstott. He's 1 of 1.
As a person with autism and a huge fan of history and of the NFL and NASCAR love these videos!
Him and lorenzo neal together must have been hell on earth
Lorenzo Neal blocking for Mike Alstott, for one year (1998, I believe), was cruel and unusual punishment for defenders. Alstott was pissed when they let Lo Neal walk after one year and so was I!
I saw that I was like dear god😂😂
If u were in the secondary, u didn’t want none.
@@chevy4x466 If you were on the field, you didn't want none! I called Mike following Lo the C.A.G.I. formation: Come And Get It! Two monsters looking for someone to hit!
He really should be in the Hall of Fame.
Alstott was so good that you sometimes forgot he also had Warrick Dunn and later Michael Pittman as backfield teammates
Alstott should a hall of famer. Man was a beast and was one of the last true Fullbacks imo.
The original beast mode 💯
Cant be original if the name was already given to someone . Try again Sir
Alstott was such a beast.
I saw him drag three guys down the field when he was in college, they were playing Indiana and I thought "that guy is going to be something special when he gets to the NFL". I've never forgot that game or that moment when I saw that. He's the BAR when it comes to the modern NFL Fullback.
Ain’t nobody today runs like mike alstott
The last TRUE fullback in the nfl what a fuckin beast
Favorite player of all time and the reason I’m a Buccaneers fan. Didn’t matter if there was open field in one direction he went looking for someone to make contact with. Never gunna be another like him.
Any kid who played Madden in the late 90s-early 2000s, if you were playing as the Bucs and it was any situation with 5 yards or less, you just handed it off to him and let him work his magic.
I think Madden came up with the truck stick just for the A-Train🚂🚂
I remember in one of the most recent Maddens I put Roquan Smith as a FB in a goal-line set. I handed it off to him and he gets laid flat by the MLB just by sticking his shoulder into him. Madden is hot trash, now
Put this man in the fame bro. He played true football.
The best fullback I ever seen in my life. Get this man in the hall of fame
I've never expect Mike Alstott can be that strong and hardly be stopped by the opponents. ALL ABOARD TO THE A-TRAIN!
Alstott was great alot of power, strength, balance, and relentless drive to out work everyone one on the field and a future hall of famer indeed 👍.
Watching this live as kid had me blown away. One of the reasons why tackle football was banned in my elementary.
Best fullback of the modern era. An all-time favorite.
This guy should definitely be in the Hall of Fame.
He look for and loved contact. Great great player. Pure man
I miss players like Alstott. That man was a beast!
Mostert is good too.
I hope he becomes a hall of famer.
Oooohhhhh I remembered back in 2005 when ESPN nfl 2k5 game came out. As Seahawks fan, the first thing I did was to add mike alstott to the Seahawks 😂😂😂😂 he was my favorite RB/FB in the game.
I actually met Mike before his ring of honor ceremony. The quiet power that man emitted was palpable
The last great fullback. All aboard the A Train!!!
Literally had chills watching this. Alstott was my favorite player on my favorite team as a kid growing up. What a joy is was to watch him play back then. Still one of the greatest.
Mike was the reason why I wanted to become a fullback. He ran with purpose The sole purpose of taking you for a ride The ride that you did not want to go on ever again. The NFL has forgotten how important fullbacks can be and I'm sure with enough exposure of Mike's career highlight plays it could damn sure help bring us back We need full backs locked and loaded
Everytime I see him run, I make the same sound effects like Chris Berman 😂
Loved watching this dude, put head down and run over anything in his way
A great fullback. If you don’t know old school football before the passing game, you need to watch this guy. He was a true fullback. Can’t outrun the defense, but he sure can dish out some punishment while getting the first downs.
If it was 4th and 1 or 4th and goal I knew we were getting that sh!t. Looking back on it, it was such a blessing to have a guy that can easily convert 3rd and short or 4th and short.
Couldn't outrun the defense? You needs to rewatch this video Cuh.
@@stevefoote7451 yeah sure dude. Everyone knows about fullbacks because of their fancy footwork and Olympic sprinter speed.😮💨
@@uprightfossil6673 No NFL players has Olympic sprinter speed. The average fullback time for the NFL combine is 4.8. Mike ran a 4.6. He was def fast for his size and could outrun most linebackers.
@@uprightfossil6673 He has amazing footwork.
Before Mike Evans, Alstott was the best offensive player us Bucs fans had ever had on the team. He was a true football player that loved the game and it showed in his play, but he was an even better human being off the field and he still has a amazing impact in the Tampa area today.
Im a diehard Eagles fan but l have a Mike Alstott jersey at home. I loved the way he played
Why wasn’t he in the HOF?? Idc if it’s because he’s a FB! He deserved it!
Him and Lorenzo Neal and Larry centers
Last great fb
True
All aboard!!! Power, balance and determination dudes a legend
He was such a big part of the bucs franchise give him his 🥇 jacket
The last great fullback
One of tbe best players ever.
Prime/pre-neck injury A-Train was GLORIOUS.
Top3 of my favorite ball players EVER!!!! Watched all the games i could of him back in the day!
Best FB in NFL history in my humble boy opinion and was an ABSOLUTE cheat code in the old Madden games 🙌🏾‼️
Jim brown was a fullback
I loved watching this guy as a kid. Dude was a hero to everybody.
He was my childhood Earl Campbell.
Man he gave those Vikings hell it seems lol. What a legend. MSSP sent me
Mike Alstott is still one of my all-time favorite players. Dude was a wrecking ball.
Miss guys like this, great video
I loved watching Alstott.
His highlights are actually insane. So impressive
The man was a real football player. Always bringing the pain
This man was an absolute unit!
I’ll give it to the Bucs on one thing…
They had one of the best commentators over any team. That one guy’s voice is crazy identifiable. You know it’s an Alstott highlight if you hear that voice
Nobody finished off a run Like A train. Warrick Dunn and Mike will always be the true thunder and lightning.
Deceptively quick, and shifty asf in the open field or in tight space. He gets behind his pads gets going downhill and its gonna be a rough day 💪
Damn bring back the Fullback position
he was a beast in the madden video games too
mike alstott and warwick davis were such a good combo
If tampa bay had a player like this today we would be unstoppable. He was the greatest and deserve hall of fame credit. He was the reason I became a tampa fan.
This man was a Beast.🔥
Balance, power and speed.
Alstott was the ❤️ of the Bucs offense when they had NOTHING else going. When the A-Train train started to roll, you knew that the team had a chance.
Dude was a beast smash mouth football player on madden that was my man.
Alstott- " Maybe the last great NFL Tight End."
Me
One of my favorite players love Alstott
❤❤❤
He's the reason I love the fullback position.
God i miss power running like this. Something about a man running through people and only being brought down by 3+ people makes my bones shiver. Shame the game just doesnt play like this anymore
Modern day gladiator💩
He was a tank
3:45 "battling and hammering"🔨 as he drags 5 guys down the field with him 🚉 💨💨💪 🏈
I’m 42 from the north of England and never watched an American football game but the was AWESOME!!!!
Having a pulling G and a lead FB opening up holes for Alstott is criminal😂😂😂
Mike Alstott, is part of the reason why, I'm a Bucs fan. Have his jersey, ready for 2023 kickoff.
Old school power runner. Loved watching him play.
Cant lie, although not a buccaneers fan, Mike Alstott was still fun to watch!
So many great memories get this man a jacket
