Yes, I am African American and my uncles and father served with distinction and honor in the Pacific Theater, Army and Navy respectively.

What happened to the Coast Guard?
@LeroyJenkins1988 ...I think you're missing the point. Iwo Jima was a joint effort on behalf of all four branches (imma go ahead and say the Air Force was its own branch even though it wasn't). Not just Iwo Jima, but the entire pacific theater. Since the Marines were last to be recognized, maybe they thought they would portray one of the best photos ever taken? They weren't screaming either, that was their battle cry. Could've been louder imo.

The Army Song is the Army Goes Rolling Along not the Cassions Go Rolling Along. That is strictly for Artillery. Also the raising of the Flag over Iwo Jima re-enactment, one of those guys was a Navy Corpsman. Should have been done at being or end of the entire presentation. And where is the Coast Guard (It is not a Armed Forces Tribute without ALL 5 branches. Whoever planned this needed to do more research.
The tune is that of the Caissons Song; the Army Song was adopted in 1956. The Air Force Song was updated from the original Army Air Corps Song; the AF did not become an independent service in its own right until 1947. What was that racket near the end of the AF song?

The Coast Guard was under the Treasury Department until after the Vietnam War. It was then transferred to the Department of Defense and after that became considered to be a branch of the military. They were functioning as a military branch in Vietnam, and the government finally realized that, and that they deserved the recognition.

I am all for honoring veterans and giving them credit and more power to churchs for giving having shows to honor them BUT that was the cheesiest thing I've ever seen. Having people run down the aisle of a church screaming and then attempting to portray the American Flag raising on Iwo Jima? I'd be embarassed if I was a Marine and my church represented me as a screaming maniac.
