Halliburton is one of the best young PG’s in the league for sure. Skilled and high IQ player
He has what every team covets, not sure why the Kings traded him, he's got length, solid athletic ability, can shoot the 3 very well, playmaking ability, not sure how he is as a defender. Bottom line Fox should have been the dude Sac traded away and Haliburton should have been the foundational building block.

@@judoka. Injuries, lack of vet depth. Lack of a traditional center, which forced them to collapse on D and lead to open 3s. Also a lack of 3 point shooting on their end.

@@judoka. if i recall correctly, embiid got injured late in the series. scottie got injured from game 1 which was caused by embiid. and he was on pace for a triple double in his first playoff game (recovered by game 4). GTJ was sick for the first 3 games but still played but clearly was a liability on the court when he was sick (he recovered later in the series). FVV had a lingering injury second half of the season which also lingered into the playoffs.

i’m wondering if the Raptors FO should focus on having Dalano develop more as a forward, put more pounds on him and get him more comfortable with shooting he’d like really good out there at his height. his TO tendency is really holding him back so being an off ball forward who can facilitate sometimes could be a good fit

Scottie Barnes needs control of the Raptors' offense immediately. Meaning, Pascal's time of possession will have to be reduced
possession time wont matter as much as Pascal's and Fred's minutes should be reduced due to having a more dependable bench. shouldn't see too many more games with 40 minutes and that should translate to Barne's having more responsibility
@@kingkai18 if Pascal and Scottie are both logging up to 35mins per game you assume they will be on the court together for a lot of those minutes.
@@karimw.9954 depends on the lineup, i can see NN bringing out rotations that see Porter playing with P to give both P and Fred more of an opportunity to get easy assists from dishing the ball out for a three, in the same notion by playing scottie with the second line occasionally with GTJ and the others he’ll have more responsibility and thus more touches to get himself and others involved
Nah, Pascal deserves the ball in his hands most of the time. If he gets more consistent and more touches, he can definitely be a 24-25ppg scorer with 8-9 rebounds and 6-7 assists. That’s all NBA second team right there. The player that needs reduced offense is Vanvleet. He hurts the team when he jacks up 10+ threes at a low 30% clip in a lot of game. Less shooting, more playmaking for Fred

He knows no one wants to take a charge (no real refs) or really body up and risk getting hurt in an offseason run, so he always bullies guys in these runs. That kind of play doesn't translate as well to the regular season, but maybe this is the year lol
@@pistolpete8273 offense ain’t his problem besides shooting. He can score the ball in the regular season, problem is he’s undersized, can’t shoot, can’t defend, needs to be playing the 5 but can’t really cause of what I named already, and isn’t a great playmaker/ ball handler to be playing the 4
@@thrillwill5 Yep agreed with all of that. In the summer runs he usually gets to play the 5 and somehow his jumper always looks nice, but come season its broken and he's back to being undersized against NBA 5's or 1 dimensional against 4's

Seeing a guy drop 3 nice dimes is cool but what if in the same game he got locked up and had 6 turnovers? I want to see that. Maybe Another guy has 7 points in one game but shot 3-14. Seeing guys lock up others on defense is also something I want to see. Made baskets is just part of basketball.

@Hand Down Mandown that’s besides the point. I agree with OP 100%. Banton is being put on this super high pedestal just because he is from Canada. Instead of looking at his roots, watch how he plays. He’s slow (other than in transition), he has telegraphic crossovers, he turns over the ball A LOT, and can’t really stay in front of defenders despite his length. He has a lot of learning to do. Masai really needs to consider freeing up a roster spot by sending Banton to the G league for another season.
@@bobcharlie1666 he was one of best players in summer league, shot like 46% from three, hes 6'9 hes not going to be the quickest but he recovers well using his length gets a lot of deflections, also hes not a true pg but more of wing creator, he wont need to force it as much in regulars lineups
