This is the best fanmade splatoon theme I've ever heard. I also really like how it brings back a bit of the splatoon 1 music style. It also sounds a bit like the music from sonic lost world

Yeah, I can totally see this playing in a singleplayer stage! If I threw more synths, gargling noises, and samples from random audio library CDs at it, it would be right at home!
It’s still shocking to me how much free content Nintendo is blowing off with how creative and dedicated their fans are.
That might be true, but Nintendo can't just steal my music because I attached their IP to it. Also, they're mostly based in Japan, and I don't speak Japanese, nor do I know how to communicate with other musicians.
Although as far as art and concepts and stuff go, yeah! There's some genius stuff I've seen that I wish Nintendo would use. Like Splatoon Neo's Octoling hairstyles with the nets and stuff to look like, "curly".
@@_unreel Even giving plenty of credit to the creators, they probably would save a lot of money if a significant part of the OST is fan-written. Look at Sonic Mania - the art style and visual style are literally take from a fan-made flash game.
Maybe, but I get the feeling Nintendo has enough money to throw around that the cost of putting new tracks in the games isn't really an issue for them. The Splatoon music team has no problem cranking out absolute bops by themselves.
Actually speaking of absolute bops, something I'd really like to hear is like, a track that incorporates Brazilian and ethnic style rhythms and drums into a Multiplayer track. There's lots of tracks like that in arms, but not a lot in Splatoon 2, since its soundtrack is more electronic than anything else.

I might actually turn this into a routine to revisit this track at the beginning of each month of April. Not only is it a surprisingly emotional piece, as I've described in my earlier comment, but the first time I listened to it was, at least in retrospect, during one of the most relieving moments I've had in the past few years.
I don't know what sort of magic you used to compose a song that bonds with my heart so well, but I cannot thank you enough for doing so.
Alright, this is something I've thought about for a while and thought now would be a good time to express myself about it.
When I listen to unused or authentic fanmade music for any videogame, I often get this pleasant mixed feeling of excitement and curiosity as I picture what the game could be like, if the song actually got put in it. It makes me imagine that there could possibly be even more additional content just waiting to be experienced. This feeling I get is nothing like the excitement when new content actually gets added to the game, what makes this specific feeling so special is the aspect of mystery, curiosity and imagination. I get to imagine so many different possibilities of context in which the unused/fanmade song could be used in and what could branch from that context:
"Was this song perhaps made for an incredible level that doesn't appear in the final game?"
"Could there possibly be even more unused levels? Could that mean there could be even more great songs?"
"By how much would I enjoy the game more, if this hypothetical new content turned out to be real?"
I pretty much start daydreaming when thinking about this stuff. And just like when waking up from an amazing dream, I think to myself: "Man, that was incredible. It's a shame it ended now, because it could have continued in so many great ways!"
This song right here. This song gives me that exact feeling in insane amounts. I mean it without a single sliver of irony when I say this is among the best pieces of music I have ever listened to.

Dude, I shit you not, it's literally the default FL Studio boobass plugin with some delay and a cabinet on it. I think you're overthinking it.
The burp-ish lead sound is actually a pulse wave with some distortion, slight chorus, and a cabinet on it.
The other one is a similar sound, more leaning towards a square wave, with less distortion, and more chorus and reverb and also a cabinet.
What really makes it sound like voices though is the vowel filter. I automated it to just snap between random vowels.
While I was making this song, I experimented with adding sibilance noises to make it sound more like speech. I don't know why I didn't keep them, but this song sounds absolutely nothing like it did back when I first started working on it.

Yeah, I had to do a lot of digging and midi editing and composing before I got it to sound right. Took me a while to extract all the information from my head.

Really nice. I love the use of delay lama. Im usually pretty critical of splatoon fan songs but this one genuinely sounds like it could be real!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the song. I actually didn't use delay lama, but I did use pretty much the same techniques. It's a heavily effected synth with a vowel filter on it to make it sound like speech.

What did u use to make the photo edit?
I just used gimp and mirrored the image. Also applied a very light blur filter because the image was very jpeg-y

Yeah, I'm actually using a thing called a vowel filter with a simple synth. The vowel filter is what really makes it sound like vocals. Friday Night Funkin' did cross my mind while I was messing around with the filter, though.

Well, it *is* made in FL Studio, which is pretty much the mother of all FNF tracks. The main vocals are a vowel filter on a synth, kind of similar to Friday Night Funkin'.
