Never played horizon but I ended up buying the ps5 bundle that comes with forbidden west (the sequel game). Thanks to this video now I can play forbidden west without having to play the first game. Thanks 👍
I wanted that bundle but ended up with GoW:R one. But that’s ok bc I got FW on Amazon for $45
I just finished the story for HZD and if you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it. I'm about to start the DLC, which people have said is amazing.
I remember having lots of fun, platinuming it, thinking it was gorgeous and remembering the gist of the AI stuff. First ten minutes I don't remember a single sun person so I decided it would be best if I came here lol
I can't wait to continue the story.
Forbidden West have big shoes to fill. The story and specially the lore of Zero Dawn is truly amazing and mind blowing.
It is exactly what you would expect from the promotional materials alone. Going in, I could tell that humans had destroyed themselves with technology and this civilization is the remnants. At no point did the game subvert that expectation, it just kept telling me in excruciating detail. I will never understand the overwhelming praise of HZD’s story.
@@paullucci I guess everyone’s different, I loved the lore in this game. I wouldn’t say its mind blowing, but its very good & in depth. I loved the concept of Project Zero Dawn
@@paullucci That's exactly what I got out of it, which is a bit of a shame. It doesn't need to subvert expectations, just tell the story well, which is this game's (and let's face it: 99.9% of modern video games, yes including indies failing) when telling a story.

I was interested in trying God of War, and I know it is your favorite franchise. I am not sure I can start from the first installments, maybe you could do a video with timestamps for each opus of the serie in case we want to pick up on one?
Horizon zero dawn takes place 1000 years after zero dawn day. Also the machines consume all life plant, animals, and humans.
Gaia took 500 years to decrypt the machines systems to send the shutdown code. I think it was longer, but at LEAST 1000 years after zero dawn.
@@AcurelyObtuse I know there was several iterations, had to get the right balance. Hades was there to destroy everything if Gaia didn’t get it right

I had the first game but it wouldn’t transfer from my ps4 to the 5 and I never ended up finishing the he first game but me 5 came with forbidden west so I really needed this

80 hours? I bought the game 3 weeks ago and beat it in 30. No way 80 hours is what it takes unless you want to do ALL the optional side quests and 100% the game by finding all the hidden stuff.

3:23 1000 years ago, not 100. You also skipped the part where that waste of oxygen Ted Faro wiped out the APOLLO subroutine, dooming future humanity to ignorance.
So basically this shit was just a story with a little game here and there, classic sony.
I believe Ted Faro is still alive and he sent that signal to destroy the new world. Maybe I’m wrong because it’s been a while but didn’t they send a crew into space to find another habitable world before Zero Dawn was created?
Ted Farrow, after Elisabet left, sent a signal to destroy the library (socretes? Apollo? Athena?). The signal to wake Hades (that led to Gaia's self destruction) came from space and seems to be Silen's goal in recapturing Hades after the credits. We dont know who or what sent it

I actually really needed this video. I played this game this year, like 4 months ago, and I can't remember a single thing about the story, super forgettable. Combat was fun though.

Thank you, finally someone speaking sense. The story is indeed completely forgettable and was an entire slog to get through. Not to mention every side character is INCREDIBLY dull, robotic and lifeless. Most cutscenes were painful to get through. Fortunately the gameplay & graphics are fantastic.
@@lewishague123 yep. I will admit, a few missions were cool. Like the arena one for example. But I will never understand why Guerilla crafted this beautiful world and then spent 70% of the story in underground, copy paste, and boring old labs
@@mattwimberley8958 The majority of side characters/missions were completely lifeless and at times laughable. Guerrilla Games struggle to create engaging in-game cutscenes, their characters lack natural movements and at all times are static, as if they're glued to the floor, it's extremely jarring and something I'd expect from the PS2/PS3 era. I'm hoping Forbidden West will be better, as there is so much potential... the Killzone franchise is one of my all-time favourites, so I have a lot of love and respect for Guerrilla Games

tho i finished the last of us part 1 many years ago i can remember many conversations from the game because it was well written and fun to experience
horizon has outstanding gameplay but crushingly boring story through game, some games just focus on the fameplay and very little on the story, and tho story of horizon in general is great idea the story we experience through game is so boring
every modern game is just like a movie, and every movie needs a good story and by that every game needs good story

Only at that one? All male characters in that game are drunkens, idiots, "bad guys", cowards and/or in need of a wahman to save them. All people in charge are female, except for the king, that shows interes in "potato girl" and ends up asking her for forgiveness for it.
This game is greatly overrated, just because it looks pretty. The story is nothing special, the gameplay is AC with a bow, melee combat is shit, facial expression are really bad (really... wtf..).. and it's sexist af..

A lot of woke politics in there. All tribes led by matriarchs. The world saving machine is named gaia after the goddess. All villains are men. Our hero is a woman that is a clone of another noble and genius woman.
If you ever do another one of these, don't talk so fast. Hard to understand what you're even saying cause you're just spitting out the words and not fully enunciating.
I thought the story was pretty dull and dumb… humans made machines to do their tasks… the machines go crazy and start killing off humanity so our solution is to make another AI machine …. Seriously…. Stupid af lol.. no excitement… no plot twists… no story building… completely predictable from the minute u turn it on… the gameplay… that’s what makes this game great… story… meh Ive watched paint dry that was more entertaining
