I have seen this now on u tube in the slower and fast tempo and I must admit that I like the quicker tempo but the con side that I'm seeing is when the choirs go at the fast tempo they are only getting faster and faster toward the end which can't be good.
one of my favorite versions of this online. great job emoting and phrasing guys. I wouldve liked it a little slower at partsto heighten the drama, but, what is written is whats preformed. nice tenors 😊
I agree with Jay that this song needs to be uptempo to feel the energy and power, but I think Alpha is right -on about missing the question/answer ending. Recommend listening to the 2014 Maryland All State senior mixed choir do this. (They are pictured in white shirts and black ties). Those kids are amazing!! I really didn't expect to hear so many young voices be so precise AND keep all that energy going. Great uptempo, Rubato in just the right places, flawless diction, entrances and cut-offs. They rocked out!!
Good job just work on dynamics and making sure you quiet in very Imperative places so that your Crescendo will be grand and very noticeable but over all good 💪🏾❤️
the notes are there, but it's too fast.. it sounds rushed and there's definitely not enough time to feel out the feeling being conveyed by each chord and chord change.. also.. they move on to the next phrase too fast.. no time is given to let the words resonate with the listener.,
Tenors 👍Something ain't right with the phrasing or pronunciation. I am not an expert, so I may not be explaining correctly. The tone is nice. Well done .
Deborah Rhoades it’s probably the speed. I’m sing in a professional choir and when a piece is sung at a speed that is too fast for it, you have to do weird things to your voice if you want to get all the words out
this is good, nice tempo, nice dynamics, BUT UGH YOUR VOWELS you sound very western. round your vowels so instead of "my souls been anchored in the lord" like how you normally sing, you would rather sing it like "my souls been anCORD in DEH LAHD" see what I mean?
Them tenors WERE PHENOMENAL
The dynamics are absolutely BRILLIANT
Fast but very spirited and lively! Great sopranos and basses!
My favorite spiritual I ever sang in choir!
The Round Sound is so beautiful and ON TUNE 🎶
Gave me chills
that was really good! loved the dynamics
love the speed

Enjoy seeing this diverse choir! Sopranos hit it!
Welcome, UTArlington...Blessings!
Nice clean perfectly sung!!!

and those sopranos. Coming through from the rafters. very warm altos and not overpowering bass like you see in some interpretations. 9.9/10 💜
The Tempo was Right On !!!

👍🙏👍🙏
what is the choral name and conductor¿
To really enjoy the beauty of this piece you need to slow it down more. The tempo is way too fast.
Good job just work on dynamics and making sure you quiet in very Imperative places so that your Crescendo will be grand and very noticeable but over all good 💪🏾❤️
I loves this rendition but it qas a little fast! But everyone stayed together even though the speed was a bit too fast in my personal taste.
who is this choir
Just got around to watching this, but it is the University of Texas at Arlington!
fast tempo but very nice

Alpha_Trion I completely agree. the tempo was way too fast
Yeah I like the quick tempo, but as I'm observing the choirs sing this song it seems as if it's only going faster toward the end which can't be good.
