FYI the back pouch on the sling bag is for quick access to ccw. Some actually come with velcro inside to attach a generic holster (think Maxpedition/Vanquest). I have a couple I got off Amazon for maybe $20. Great little bags but the stabilizing strap is really useful when packed full so shame this one didn't have it. Most on Amazon do for about half the price. I used one last spring/summer as a minimalist get home/edc bag and it worked great. Real solid construction for being so cheap.
Definitely a major improvement over the boxes I received and reviewed a few years back. Really liked the knives. Very good box overall.
Just found your channel and enjoyed watching your unboxing videos. I've been looking for review videos for tactical monthly subscriptions, and I really like the MKC videos. I'm not a knife collector, but I've been wanting to start getting some to have and maybe start collecting. Also can make cool gifts for family and friends. I'm going to start doing a monthly from MKC.

On that sling bag that velcro/webbing loop on the bottom of the back is probably intended to function as a belt loop, some sling bags have an additional strap to go around the other side of your body to help secure it while running etc. Since this one doesnt have that additional strap that loop would really help keep it stable, I dont know for certain thats what its for but that would be my guess lol. That beyond edc knife is definitely interesting looking lol cant say that ive ever seen one quite like that, im not sure how I feel about that funnel/thumb disc because it just looks out of place to me but maybe its just because its different. 🤷
The loop is to secure that extra strap when you don't want to use it. You leave it connected to the d-ring, remove it from the sling and fold it up under the velcro loop to keep it in place. This bag is made by a ton of Chinese factories from one basic design and you can delete certain things that are not sewed on to keep the cost down. That's why the loop is still there even though no strap. The other popular thing to cut is the stretch cord outside the top pocket.

I've seen a lot of videos claiming the metal around the compass will throw off the accuracy. You ever see that?
The ones we were issued had bodies made of aluminum, so there was no ferrous materials to interfere with magnetism. I guess that says something about the idea that metals can interfere with accuracy. I haven't really tested it out personally.
I would only expect any influence from ferrous metal, not aluminum, but I am certainly open to being corrected...

It's not uncommon to need lubrication for putting it in, but not taking it out. 😂😂😂

Personally i don't get the "half finished" look like on the Fox Edge. It seems like the knife maker saves $$ by not finishing the other half and markets it as being a cool look. Somebody please educate me on this. To each his own, yes, but not my cup of tea.
Are you talking about the blue on one side and bare metal on the other?
