But in all seriousness, I was actually surprised that I haven't made a video like this because I'm pretty sure I've ranked a lot of other aspects of the series. I think I was waiting for JoJolion to end and then just forgot because I had other stuff going on. Crazy to think we're not getting any new Stone Ocean episodes or news about Part 9 for a while. Oh well. Expect some non-JoJo videos in the mean time as well. Currently finishing up a Stand Science about Stone Free and another Science Video from a childhood video game.
We're also including Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan and Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak because Wynaut? Wobbuffet, that's why not.

What i love about part 3 is that you feel like you are part of the journey from Japan to Egypt. Sure the anime was slow at times but it made up for it in OST, Artstyle, friendship and storytelling. It was a blast reading through the part 3 manga too and i highly recommend trying it for anyone that hasn't done it yet! :)

Slow at times? It was a great pace and didn't feel rushed.
Although lots of people hate it for being so long, I think that it was one of my favorite, but a could be sad. Not as sad as sbr, but still sad at times.

@@glassofwater281 yea thats what it was all about. It was about an epic adventure for the crusaders to find and kill DIO. But in only 50 days. And even if anyone really died they wouldn’t be able to mourn for long, since they would still have to keep it together.
I like to think that there are no bad JoJo parts, just some parts that are weaker than the others.

i love part 6 because of how i resonated with jolyne being the most disadvantaged jojo and still pulls it off:
- a "lackluster" ability compared to other parts
- only got her ability very recently and has no fighting experience
- faced the final boss as her second enemy
- plot armor is siding with the villain
- is by far the most bodied jojo physically and takes it like a fucking champ
- and is by far the best jojo when it comes to using their ability to its fullest potential (with no bs phenomenon)

Even excluding GSR there was:
- "the snake I creating within this infected area is automatically immunized to Purple Haze's virus"
- Inject said snake's immunized blood and curing said virus
- Out-of nowhere ability to detect life signatures on the plane that one time, despite multiple times before now it would have been handy
- using Gold Experience to transfer his mind back to his own body (does that imply Giorno could use Gold Experience to transfer his consciousness into ANY dead body?)
- Making a copy of Coco Jumbo, complete with Stand. Does this imply that the creatures he creates come with copies of an original creature's soul? If he'd met Iggy or Pet Shop or Bug-eaten, could he have made copies of them with their stands too? Come to think of it, are we sure GE can't make humans? This asks so many questions!

Jojolion at least looks good, but I don't think I could give a good synopsis about what I read other than:
A chimeric amnesiac gets adopted by a family of loonies he's distantly related to, and through abnormal encounters, he learns about underground fruit smuggling by silicon-based lifeforms that can cause an equivalent exchange, connecting back to the amnesiac's chimeric fusion.

i believe that stone ocean is one of the best parts, artistically, story wise, and character development. you did point out some good points on why it's not as likable as others such as the weak character motivations, but i think it deserves at least low a

Part 5 is good in his first arc , but I really disliked the arc between Bucciarati betrayal and the colosseum, there wasn't this team in the ennemy, it didn't feel like they knew each other
For part 3, it's excellent at the egypt arc, road to egypt is pretty boring
@@boubaker7037 Personally I enjoyed the road to Egypt. yeah there were some fights that I just didn't like, such as ebony devil and strength, but I thought it was cool how the crusaders experienced all the different cultures and how the enemy stands played into their surroundings. Egypt arc is definitely better though.
8 is confusing as hell alot of the time but yeah its definitely top tier the ending gave me hard sbr vibes

Atleast for me. Pay attention that I read Part 5 before it was animated, so my opinion comes from the manga.
One thing I love about Araki’s writing in parts 5-7 is his ability to take inspiration from, and base themes on Christianity without criticizing or promoting it. As a Christian myself, I don’t really enjoy either sides of that divide. I don’t like the criticism for obvious reasons, but I don’t enjoy stories that just promote it because theres no need for it to be promoted to me, as I’ve already been a practicing member for my whole life and to me it’s not about promotion or anything. I love how Araki is able to be genuinely neutral on it. There’s definitely arguments for him going to either side, but here’s why I think they’re false.
Part 6 has the clear argument for the story criticizing Christians, and the main antagonist is a priest. However, I never got the feeling that Araki was trying to paint it in a bad light. I think the choice to make Pucci a priest was to fit the ideas of both him and Jolyne being the opposite of their labels. Pucci is a priest, someone who’s supposed to do good works, but does horrible things. Jolyne’s is an inmate, someone who’d be thought to have done bad things, but fights for what’s right.
It can be argued that Steel Ball Run supports it, and maybe it does a bit in a sense, but to me, Jesus’ role (and the Holy Corpse) felt more like a neutral force that could be used for good or evil, like the Force from Star Wars.
And then finally Part 5 strikes the perfect balance. It’s just pure themes that work for all viewers.
Good analysis
I think it’s worth mentioning that stories that support Christianity don’t need to be seen as purely evangelical, although they undoubtedly always are in some capacity. Let us take for instance the recent hit series The Chosen for example. The story is an adaptation of the Gospel story told from the perspective of the disciples and includes a number of creative liberties to speak a little more to modern audiences. Most of the people watching it are probably believers and certainly don’t need to be preached to, and if anything the show probably raises a few concerns in its portrayals given how difficult it is to write Jesus with perfect consistency to official Christology. Why do they watch then? For most, it’s because seeing the Story of Salvation being brought to life so well inspires a re-fascination with the foundations of their faith (some call it “reconversion of the heart”). This is very helpful for helping with periods of spiritual dryness. I am of course not trying to say you can’t criticize these works or that you should go out and find one to watch right now, but rather than pure preaching you can look at these works as opportunities to see the faith from another point of view and maybe gain a new insight along the way.
Also I’m not sure making the Holy Corpse a Maguffin that works for the holder regardless of their character is a very positive thing that’s true to the Christian Revelation, but this is JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure we’re talking about so I’m not exactly about expect a man from a country with minimal Christian influence to understand all of the nuance of the theology behind the faith and how to portray it 100% respectfully. I’m certainly not a theology major or anything, why should I expect him to be? :P
@@peaceribbon8322 You’re definitely right. I’ve seen The Chosen, and it’s really good. The key difference is just that I go to that for faith-centered entertainment as opposed to anything else that happens to deal with Christian themes like JoJo.
Also you’re right about the Jesus McGuffin thing. If it was any other series it would stand out as sacreligious but this is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure so I’m used to stuff like that.

@@nguoisaohoa6410 the only one I disagreed with was part 8’s placement but at the end of the day its his opinion. Part 1 is your typical shounen and Jonathan is your typical shounen protagonist. The pacing feels too fast seeing how the anime is only 9 episodes long and Jonathan’s training arc was barely an episode’s worth. Part 6 on the other hand has arcs that feel like they drag for an insane amount of time, like the maximum security arc, holy heck was that arc a drag and sometimes could be painful to read, but starting where Jolyne and the crew leave the prison, part 6 becomes such a good part and the ending is such a unique one in terms or shounen, (part 6 ending spoilers):
seeing the villain ACTUALLY winning and succeeding with his plans with 90% of the main cast dying, that latter arc of the part really shines but having most of the first kind of drag for too long makes its placement kind of logical.
One thing about Steel Ball Run that I love is almost everybody is a main character but not over done like part 4 or part 8, example Sandman and Hotpants were main characters even though Sandman was a villain and Hotpants was neutral. Same with Diego and Pocoloco (which I would love to see a spinoff of as we just see him win and that's it).
Part 4 was fine.
I personally liked how part 8 gave life to Morioh, having all of the characters with intricate relationships with one another. The way Araki truly made it feel like all the characters were real by having them all interact with each other and have their own encounters and their own allies appeals to me more than stories like part 5 and 3 where it's just "so five dudes go over here and fight a guy, then they go over here and fight another guy." It was done much better than in part 4 where Josuke and a Jobro go around Morioh, fight a stand user, and then after the fight is over that stand user either instantly loses all motivation or they didn't really have any reasonable motivation in the first place and that character becomes another Jobro.

Part 1 is horrible and boring. I'd say it was very interesting and solid until Dio burned the house down. After that, it just became generic and boring shounen, which I guess would've been considered good at the time it came out, but does not really hold up today.
@@jantheking7028how it can be boring? It is only 9 episodes and it is the most packed storytelling in the whole JoJo series. It starts from when JoJo was an infant, goes through his teen years, introduces the main villian of all JoJos, introduces Hamon and has probably the most dramatic ending of all JoJo parts.
Personally, Stone Ocean is one of the best parts. That's because I think that Jolyne as a protagonist is soo entertaining. Also, the premise of the part is so cool too!

As someone who just watched part 6 and it is my FAVORITE jojo part, I think the ending was by FAR the weakest aspect. Something doesn't sit right with me knowing that I watched 39 episodes of this great story just for it to end with all the main characters dying, and an entire new universe being created, with the characters we followed just no longer existing. What was Weather Forecasts' sacrifice for? What was FF's sacrifice for? Why didn't we get to see Jolyene properly reunite with her boyfriend? The ending of part 6 had too many missed opportunities.

Idk, but something about part 6 makes it my favorite. I love how both the main character and the villain aren’t really related to the ancient forces that were fighting each other such a long time ago. I suppose Jolyne is the daughter of Jotaro, but other than that, she just kinda got wrapped up in the whole thing.
There is other stuff I love in the part, and I could go on and on, but point is: I like stone ocean the most. NOT BECAUSE IT RECENTLY GOT AN ANIME AND A BUNCH OF VIDEOS ON IT- I READ THE MANGA BEFORE ALL THIS. Just took me a while to settle stone ocean as my favorite part.

What is interesting about JoJo is that it is very stylistic and even among diehard fans nobody can agree on what part is best. The style and characters of parts 2 and 6 are my absolute favorite, but I know many people that really dislike those parts, and thats what makes the community so great

I really liked a LOT part 8, I love every single character (excpet you Joshu!!!), and though the main antagonist is not too developed, every other enemy are at least enjoyable, and Gappy is my favorite JoJo so far, I really love this part and every aspect of it

My only disagreement is that part 8 is a bit downplayed. While It did have important flaws, the overall enjoyability is really good, even in the later parts of the story.
The 2nd half is generally weaker and the last major arc is inconsistent but gotta agree. Biffs the landing but it's pretty rad throughout
I personally enjoyed part 8 this might be due to my opinion but it felt like araki took everything from the former parts (except part 5) and put it into one and i really enjoyed it felt more proggresive as the story went on and i was excited the whole way through

I always wondered why it was so hated and why it was the least liked part for many, as the arguments for how "bad" it was were so ridiculous I thought that it had to do with sexism.
Jolyne is an amazing Jojo, and an amazing female representation
it was good and I enjoyed it. However, it's the weakest part in my opinion. I thought Stone Free was cool, not to mention Jolynes disadvantage. Pucci is my second least favorite, but he was still cool. It has huge flaws though, and it's a bad faith argument to just call critics sexist.
I didn’t like how Jolyne relied on bulls**t logic to win fights. Sure, the other parts had their fair share of bs too, but it feels like every fight in part 6 has them win through bs logic. One of the worst examples being when Jolyne covered herself in poison dart frogs, to ambush Whitesnake, and somehow wasn’t harmed by the poison liquid. I also hate how Netflix handled the anime’s release.

What makes part 7 so good in my opinion is the buildup of events that make some final products shine. I remember reading part 7 last summer each night, I would read like 20 chapters in one night. I remember just kind of screaming from excitement and getting so hyped at numerous things like stands and then the actual race itself was just so exiting for me.

Honestly I feel your list is close to mine, I'd possibly bump Part 1 up to at least the top of bottom tier though, because it deserves props for being the starting point a laying a solid foundation. And maybe switching 3 and 4 because I feel like 3 was just a lot more fun all the way around and that 4 dragged pretty hard in the beginning, but has an amazing second half. Just my opinion though.
Personally, I love all eight parts of JoJo we have so far. While I like some parts such as Golden Wind (my favorite part) better than others like Stone Ocean (I do be loving Weather Report and Foo Fighters though), All of the parts have pros and cons to them. Phantom Blood did it great with only nine anime episodes but is often forgotten as you continue the series. Overall, every JoJo part is really good in my opinion and all deserve respect.

I love how the Sly Cooper song plays on the Steel Ball run part, it brought me a punch of nostalgia since this game and the wild west segment were my favorite game/story segment I've ever played on my early teenage.

Part 7 was ridiculously good. Have read it 3x and I always find something new to enjoy
7 - (God Tier characters and writing, reads like a love letter to the entire series)
5 - (God Tier side characters and side villains, held back by mediocre MC and anticlimactic ending)
6 - (Insane and gut wrenching conclusion to the original plotline, great MC, side characters and villain, held back by some so-so in between fights)
2 - (Perfect hook for anyone not convinced to continue after PB, Joseph is too fun to not love)
8 - (Drags on at times but very fun and enjoyable cast of characters, held back by somewhat aimless plot direction feel, lacked a main villain to attach to)
3 - (Great introduction to stands, but lacks even attention to its main cast, and is full of unmemorable fights that feel more like filler, however it excels in having an incredible final set of arcs)
4 - (Improves on part 3 by having a much more inclusive side cast that ends up somewhat backlining the MC to its detriment, would have benefited way more by having main villain more present as time where he is not around feels like filler arcs, though has some of the most fun and bizarre concepts in the entire series)
1 - (Essential to read/watch but a slog the second time around, it's good but pales in comparison to everything that comes after it)

This is the ranking I’ve agreed the most with, although I thought the slice of life really worked for part 4 (might be personal preference) as it’s probably the part I felt saddest to be done with. Genuinely missed hanging with the cast of characters after I finished. Oh and I agree part 3’s story formula and structure hinders it somewhat, however it’s just so iconic I think it stands out as way more than the sum of its parts even when compared to other parts.
Mine is 2 best / 3 / 1 /7 /6 /8 /5 /4 worst. I hate four it’s slow too many characters too much random bs ghost alien josuke worst character I literally can’t stand him or kochi

On rewatch, I actually appreciate Part 1 and felt Part 3 dragged super hard. They come out at about an equal state for better or worse, and I believe both do have important beats. They establish the world and Stands as a concept.

Read the SDC manga on mangadex (preferably in black & white), it really changed my perception of the part compared to the anime only experience + the artwork in the last few arcs is just so amazing, it's definitely worth reading
SBR has the potential to possibly be the worst in terms of the anime.
The way so many people hype it up plus the hopes being as high as they are. It's not looking like a clear winner.

tbh i love part one and i’m rewatching it right now. I just love to see the origins of the jojo bloodline and it’s cool to see dio grow up 150 years prior to when he was killed and how different he is.

SBR is definitely the greatest part, but the prison segments of part 6 are definitely my favorite parts of JoJo. I love the themes of breaking free, both from a literal prison, and a prison of fate, they lose a lot of that theming 2/3rds of the way through though.
Based on what I've seen of JoJo, parts 2 & 4 are my favorites; although part 7 looks like it's a bop.

I haven't finished part 8 so I don't really have an opinion on it but I mostly agree with your tier list. Personally though I don't really like SBR and would probably put it in A.

Pretty good list. I would have personally put part 3 in A, and I agree with your valid criticism about it. I just think that its influence can be seen throughout the series. Also, I agree that SO is mid.
Yeah 3 is the base for alot of parts.. its atleast the second most important coming before part 1 considering the fact that its the reason the series even exists
its also very enjoyable and i found no bad points about it, i never got bored while watching it.

The thing i wanna point out, is that Part 7 gets even better after reading Part 8. The whole bit with Johnny starting a family, using the corpse again, sacrificing himself, really makes you thing "Wow, SBR was SO GOOD". I didnt get the whole "Part-7 Supremacy" thing, but after i read the begging of jojolion, i've been enlightened

I know a lot of people will disagree with 1 over 3 and 5 but I just really liked it’s story and hamon and vampires are some of my favorite power systems in the series, 6 over 4 is mostly because I just feel like jolyne atleast from what I’ve seen (I’m an anime only) is a more interesting and compelling protagonist than Josuke since she has a fun personality and is actually involved with the overarching plot. Also the jobros remain interesting without outshining the protagonist.
part of what makes jojo itself for me is the actual joestars, just generally if a part has a fun jojo it’s a way better time for me. I wanna say i like all the parts on this list they all just have flaws.

Part 6 and its story was very easy to digest unlike stardust crusaders or gold wind which took long time and most episodes felt like filler not advancing plot.

Note that the Tiers are relative to each other. So a D or C Tier part wouldn't necessarily be on that Tier relative to other series, but only compared to other parts.

I don't read manga so my opinions only apply up to episode 24 of part 6. Part 3 is hands down the BEST JoJo experience so far, it can be wacky and comedic at times just like Part 2 but the serious scenes are full of suspense and just dripping with heavy atmosphere. Not to mention the final fight is glorious with an all-out brawl against this unstoppable force that involves all of our main cast unlike in other parts where the buildup is more enjoyable than the actual final fight itself which is usually a lackluster one on one where the villain is heavily outmatched and so has to resort to trickery and hiding.

honestly while watching part 3 i dropped it once for a month. i got bored and had other stuff to do so i did. then i continued and enjoyed every second. looking back at it just gives me the best memories. i also liked phanthom blood however it isnt comparable to the likes of diamond is unbreakable. i didnt quite like josuke. i thought of him as a kind of guy that didnt have a personailty trait other then his hair. however kira, side characters and mario just amazed me and left me thinking that its the best part. however i have not read sbr yet. so im expeecting great things from it. but i dont wish to read it. i would prefer watching it cuz i find jojos manga hard to read. i tried reading part 6 second half but i stopped cuz it was hard to.

I think jojolions ranking is a little harsh for the justification. It has some of the best 50 chapters in the entire series and that alone should put it above the bottom tier
Obviously JoJolion has its serious issues with pacing (Tsurugi goes from a baby to 11 years old in like 40 chapters) but its still a fun story.
Yeah there are issues with the ending and the whole Rokakaka race, but it's still an enjoyable story with so much goofy shit to love. The stage beetle fight (which is the best fight in JoJo), the Lamborghini in the tree, "your stand is like your asshole", "I like large fries", etc.
Also, the characters, art style, and stands are so well done

Stardust deserves more praise, it's literally what MOST people think of when they think Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Steel Ball Run is the best arc tho, just fun the whole way through.

S: parts 4 and 7, A: part 5, B: parts 2 and 8(only up to blue Hawaii so far), C: parts 3 and 6, and D: part 1. I think objectively part 7 is the best but part 4 has a special place in my heart for very unobjective reasons.
